The price is dropped to 594.2 $ from 771$ . Is this bad ?
My answer is NO , For investors it is the best time to buy and hold the bitcoins for good .
We will see the rise again in 2 weeks so better buy and hold your bitcoins now .

What do you think guys ?

It's very good news for those who buy bitcoins from others, and buy bitcoins as much as you can and hold btc till the price reaches 700-800 $ again :P

when the price goes up significantly, there is always chance to see the price go back down again. that's why you should always use the high price to secure your profits at. just to be on the safe side. glad i did so. better safe than sorry.

you are totally right but some fudsters are spreading fud by taking advantage of this situation. we should not get trapped by them and dont panic sell your coins now otherwise then you will cry in the future that why you panic sold your coins.

A big correction was reasonable. We are coming from a 80% increase, so its nothing in the big picture we are still doing great.

you're right, and the current price of bitcoin to $ 568.7 in preev. This is very bad for bitcoin users, whereas, the previous day bitcoin prices are still rising to the height. I hope the price of bitcoin back up and stable

very agree with you and i'm pretty sure the investors won't missed these chance with buying more bitcoin but for some people who didn't believe the prices will increase again since yesterday they were already sell their bitcoin because they considers that if they didn't sell now they will suffer more losses

i agree with the rise but not the timing.

this little drop is just a good way of buying bitcoin for those who have missed out on the last rise. but i think it may take a longer time than 2 weeks to start climbing again.

This is honestly the first time ive never been bothered about a drop, A pretty big one at that but what it means is a nice opportunity to scoop up some cheap coins . Im also pretty hopeful that we will get an increase in price at some point after the halving.  Im not panicking yet anyway.

Yes we all are hoping that it will reach above 800$ this halving. But drop in price and that too of $200 is something to be worried . If price keeps drooping then more panic selling will come.

Ya what you are saying is right that this correction is healthy as the short term traders have cashed out the profit which they have purchased at low and if the price stable above $550 then in the next week itself we can see back the price above $700+ and before halving we can see the price of $1000 as per my chart.

Fast rise, fast drop..nothing strange for me also. Maybe this is just warming up for big jump, you mentioned two weeks, I think effects of halving will last next two months. Of course price will go up and down in this period of time, but in my opinion it will go more up then down.
Who have some money should buy now, or wait a bit more.. that is trading. People who sold on 771 are now in plus with coins, and I think in the end they will make big profit when btc rise again.

It was a nice ride while it lasted. I think we have to focus on not falling below $500 right now. It's probably the auction of the coins that made the price go down, plus the fact that it was a more than decent moment to cash out some coins. One plus the other resulted in the price going below the $600 mark.

Price may fall in coming days too, and now there is no assurance that price will go higher at halving, so if current price is allowing you to make profits, then you should sell your coins.

I would think the last increase from <500 to >700 was partially because of the halving. this is just an adjustment. maybe it will continue to go down for a while and then up again
it's impossible to guess what will happen in the short term but in the long term it's definitely going up

yeah I hope the week before halving the price could go back to $700, and now only monitors if the fall continues I will try to buy as much as possible.

The price is fighting, back to $611, but this looks like just another weak push. IMO we might be able to see around the $500 level this weekend.

Yeah your right this is not bad and this is favorable for investor that they can buy bitcoins right now for a low price.. better to stay holding bitcoins and don't sell because we will see the price again sky rocketing..

It does not matter if the price drop to $580 or not. If there is active development of the bitcoin, the price will rise.

So yeah based on the worlds economics, theres too many things going on thats added on to only make the price to go up. Look at some small examples like with the whole "brexit" situation.

Brexit can generator streams in both way.
People want to get their currency into something profitable
People want to their money in fiat to overcome unforeseen expenses.

correct! the bitcoin is a long term thing in my opinion and programmers work with it all the time thus there might be a big increase really fast pretty soon, that will make bitcoin more popular

i think even though the price dropped a little bit it wont have too big of a negative impact on bitcoin because people will be holding their bitcoins no matter what and the price will not be dumped to really low numbers

There has been a runup in the Bitcoin price over the past month, and many claim this is due to the upcoming halving. even if it drops a little users hopes that it wont dump very low.

The $550 range could be a short term bottom, I think the bitcoin price will not drop below that level.

One thing is for sure and that's speculations never win the arguments, and arguments always win, price will slowly go up each day.
But surly it wont jump in a day, it will steadily grow over time so if you think you have the stomach for it better to hold on to your coins.

if you look at the 1 year charts exactly after a year from now, then you'll notice that the growth that we'll realize will not look much when you look at a 2 week chart, but once you open the 1 year chart, you'll see the price has gone up nicely. and that's the only thing that counts. long term growth is what people here are looking for.

for every time when the price goes up. the market take a correction and the price come down again. i have a better experience in stock market. so i think the same situation is here. hope that the price will increase and will even cross 771 this time. so i think it is a good time for the investor to invest in present price because they fill never find this opportunity to buy bitcoin at this price again..

I think bitcoin was overpriced at 771. We saw a correction but after the drop to under 600 it has gone up to around 650 for several days. It looks like 650 is where it should be based on that. I'm sure we will see more swings in price though.

Actually 650$ is floor for bitcoin so i am hoping a real nice pump within next few months. It seems really hard for price to go below 600$.

On last 30 days bitcoin price was almost 650 and up but I doesn't mean that it is hard to believe that bitcoin price can go lower like many times in this period. I check the price on £ and when it is less than £500 then it is not as good as I want.

better to not judge the price in preev because it includes btc-e which is in the most of the time around 20 USD below the other exchanges rates

The current price on preev is 654 USD $ ,can someone tell me can we expect an increase of bitcoin like in the last 2 months,it hitted 770$ then dropped down,i tough after halving that it should jump but it just remains the same

This thread is a few days old I know, but if I had money I'd be buying.  It's so sad that I don't.  But I didn't think it dropped that low on any of the exchanges last week.  I must've missed the movement, because it seems like we're stalled at around $650.

I think the possile that the price will hit again back to 700 value according to 2015 chart we will see that the price will increase in november.. this is just my speculation so its more months before we will see again back 700 level..This is just my speculation anytime the price can be change or sooner the price will hit 700 value soon..

The adoption of the bitcoin is accelerating  now, so the price shall rise faster. I think the price will be $700 in September.

Preev is a great website, I always use this one to check the price because having bitcoinwisdom opened just to see the firefox tag is too resource consuming for nothing on my old pc.

well the price is still lower right now, though i think it will recover back to 700 even though the bitfinex hack happened, i hope everything will be ok

If I had more money I would be investing in Bitcoin right now.
Most of the drop is because of the Bitfinex hack.
If a bank gets robbed, and a truck of gold bricks gets stolen, does it mean gold is worth less?
No. It means the bank was not secure.
The exchanges are vulnerable, not the underlying technology behind Bitcoin.
If you were smart and had a lot of money you would be buying right now.
