I was just wondering about this Halving and what people will do, if the price hits the $1000+ price again? Most people seem to think that the previous record, were just a fluke and were artificially inflated by the Willy Bot. Let's say no bot is involved this time, and we see those kind of figures again, would you hold or would you dump?

When we talk about Bitcoin going to the Moon, $1000 is definitely not it. At what price would you start to think about selling?

Who's to say we're not surrounded by willies still? Most of the big exchanges still aren't regulated and can pretty much do what they like.

I will hold,  go big or go home.  I'm pretty sure I'm in the minority though.  I'm sure most people will get out at 1k but that's just not enough to change my life significantly.  I'm going long term in the hope of stupid prices.

The best part of all of these threads is that you guys don't even know basic, I said fucking BASIC, knowledge about how macroeconomy works. You do fantasy with being rich, without effort, just attempting something like gambling, buy low sell high, and don't know a shit of what TA means, Fibbonaci tools, etc.

No one is thinking that it will happen after halving. All they know right now is to sell because bitcoin will be crashing day by day.
But we dont know what will be the next step of the manipulators.

Hold. When people start selling at 1000 dollars, we will see a correction and a lot of people will get left behind since trying to play the market accurately is impossible. Too much risk to not be able to buy back in time.

i think $1000 will not happen this soon and it may take a much longer time. if the last trend could continue we could have seen $1000+ by the time of halving but since we are taking some steps back it is going to take that much longer to reach $1000

and i plan on selling some there to celebrate and have some ROI on the top.

if the price increase to again 1000+$ then i will invest a small fraction in cloud mining as i see it will profit me , some fractions i will cashout and other i will keep it who knows may bitcoin go beyond all expectation.

it's very simple. if the price reaches the $1000 price level, then i will secure profits with around 10-20% of my coins. i will not wait a single second with doing that as the price might come down again.

When it hit 700 again there will be a lot of users that will dump still. so it may never reach $800 nor $1K.
IT will cycle regardless of the halving  that may happen this July. I would assume the price will stick t0 $600 for now. Halving day is the day we get to decide whether to dump them all or not.

The bitcoin was a few days ago with the value of $ 758 now dropped to $ 582. I think it's taking breath to rise after. If you get a little more I buy some. The value of bitcoin expected to rise from $ 1,000 soon. If he spends $ 1,000 will wait and watch the float. depending buy some more

Holding all of my coin which is about 0.70BTC, was quite freaked out with this 200$ dump in two days however still willing to hold with hope that it will cross atleast 800$ again. But this time, when price will cross 800$ i will surely short all my coins, i will not wait for 1000$. ;D

if the price of bitcoin will be above $1000 i will definetly sell a half of my bitcoin and then the rest i will hold it

It will go up again. Bull pressure will be higher than sell pressure.

I buy scratch cards too but the real money is in the holding. I could try and sell high buy low but so far just buying  or  earning when i can is working out pretty well.  We could drop another 200 dollars and id still be in profit so im quite happy to hold long term and see what happens.

I will just sell a certain percentage of my coins and keep holding the rest just like I did when the price reached $750 not long ago.

Same things I do now for sure, for me price will go up for sure, but just holding is not good in my opinion. We need to use our coins, to make transactions.. in that way we work for btc to grow.
We all wish to see btc very high, but people who love btc will do always same things, what they did 2 - 3 years ago, what they do now, and I don't see something will change in next 2 - 3 years. Even if price go extremely high.

Ditto this.  I don't see bitcoin as a real currency;  I see it more so as a security,  like a stock. And as such, my plan is to just hold it.  I think bitcoin gets enough use and has a strong enough community that it's not going to go away anytime soon.

On short time < 1 year. I planned to sell when it hit 1150. And then buy back cheaper (hopefully).
On the long term <5 years. Not below 2.5k

Adoption is one of the good reason why the price will increase in that value.. even we are just holding bitcoin never spend it the price should increase in that value because many companies are adopting bitcoin and they are releasing new site and new business online accepting bitcoin.. so it can still hit that goal..

It depends, i'll watch the movement first after reaching $1000. Evrythings might gonna happen maybe a lot of traders will dump or wait. If the price is continuosly rising i would hold aiming for a higher profit but if i see it going down a bit i would sell with no hesitation.

I would close my long and, at the right time, open short from ~1000$, close at ~500$.

If that is going to happen then I am going to make sure that I am going to sell some coins because I can really use the money at the moment.
The summer vacation is just around the corner so I could use all the money that I am able to earn these last few weeks.

I also plan on selling when the price has finally reached $1000 because that is the price I a  waiting for and to be honest I am getting a bit tired of waiting because In could really use the money.
I hope that the price can reach $1000 before 2016 is going to end. Otherwise it has to happen with in 2017.

I will see situations like when in 2013, when it reached $ 1,000 more I would sell it. because I believe sometimes the high prices did not last long and will fall.

Prices go up and tend to go down again. Getting resistence along the way. If the price went to 1k, I would not sell though, i think we are close (in time of years) to a new all time high for the bitcoin price. The world financial markets are at crisis, and sooner or later bitcoin will be on investor's watchslist.

If this is true you all need to know that there will be allot of people who are selling their coins when he wil hit the 1000 each maybe at the end of this year the price of the bitcoin will hit the amount of
1000 dollar each you know. So if you think he will hit the 1000 that will be nice for the future of the bitcoin.

I think that i would sell some coins because there is allot of money to make when the price is that high and I am sure that I would not be the only one to sell.
If the price is going to reach a $1000 this year is still a question but it has to happen next year.

if bitcoin price reaches $1000 again i will surely sell something to enjoy the huge profit of 5x from my initial investment but i will never sell everything because i like having bitcoin in my wallet and being able to spend it on different stuff that i find on the internet it is so much more convenient.

Regarding me, the halving is a very important step. It is finally approaching and I can't wait to see what happens.

When the value of the Bitcoin finally reaches $1000 then I make sure that I am going to sell some coins for that price because you cannot let that chance go.
I will not sell everything because you never know, maybe the price is going to go up after that.

If the price rises to $1,000 next week, it is a bubble. I will sell. If the price rises to $1k in 6 months, I will hold.

How did you knew it was a bubble? What if it was really a demand or an increase because of the supply cut we had in the halving event?

well generally every huge jump is bubble and constant rise is something else that cant be predicted

The halving has happened but the price did not increased I think now bitcoin is going to stable, but that will also be better as with that when bitcoin will not fluctuate higher , it will also do not come to drop.

if the rise to $1000 is at this rising speed then i don't think i would even consider selling because this slow rise has always been so stable with no way back.

but if it was in fact a bubble then i would sell even if only a part of my cold storage but i would sell to make some nice profit.

Bubble or not, if the price happens to touch the $1000 level again I will start securing profits directly. I know that the price will not settle there directly. Whales will push the price far back again as they have thousands of coins to sell. I will then buy back my coins.

The price of bitcoin is unlikely to ever reach $1,000 again. Also, if it starts irrationally working its way up to near $1,000 there are a lot of people eager to sell and the price will catastrophically collapse again. Bitcoin is in a long term downtrend, though there will be ups and downs as people are slow to realize this confirmed fact.

yeah halving makes bitcoin more precious as the reward gets half and the mining more complex so its obvious to increase in the price its 650$ now and hope it will rise slowly and hit 1000$ soon :D lets see how it goes !

mmh dunno if this is another chill account or what, but you should now that the price is increasing at a slower rate this time, and thinking ever once that it will happen the same thign happened with the 1200 ath is a bit stupid

the pattern here is increase then stagnation then another increase, those increases are really slow and rock solid this time, 1000 will be a thing of the past very soon

The halving is done now so you should not expect any big price rise. For me i know eventually the price will get to 1k, but it will take time.
Not the halving this time, but more investors seeing that bitcoin is a good asset.

well yeah miners mine less bitcoins right now and i think that the price is definitely going to grow a lot in the future when people will be pushing the price in order to benefit

yeah, it would most probably be just a bubble but after it the price would come back to higher prices than it was before in my opinion thus it still would be really good

If the price is going to reach $1000 then I am going to sell some coins for sure because I am waiting for this for quiet some time now.
I am not going to sell everything but just a couple because maybe the price will rise after that.

to be honest if price reaches $1000 i will sell all my coins, i was satisfied with that price and waiting for the price to hit $1000 soon because after that there can be some price drops in my expectation.

With the halving over, I think we are going to wait a while before the price reaches four digits once again. Currently, it is more likely to go down or continue its sideways movement rather than go up. I am patiently waiting for the price to go below $600 but am also willing to sell a few when the price reaches $1000. When that will happen, I really don't know.

Yeah its always good to sell coins in small parts as you never know what will be the price in future so if you have some coins in spare you can always make profits in future.

the $1000 price level is somewhat of a (psychological) barrier that a lot people are dreaming of selling at. i think that the majority of the people (me included), will sell at that level and feel good about it as it took soo long for it to show up. especially if you are holding the coins that you bought far below $400 last year, and sell them at $1000. that will feel good.

Anyone who bought at or below $400 and is able to sell at $1,000 will definitely have a good feeling; it's not every day that you get a $600 profit on an investment, and I would definitely be very, very happy with Bitcoin going all the way back up to $1,000.

I have bought some bitcoin in the past, I have hold since them. I just used small percentage to trade Ethereum.

The bitcoin price has risen 6% in the last 30 days. When it rises further, I will use the bitcoin to buy some Monero or Ethereum.

My current goal is to gather as much bitcoin as i can. In the past I have invested in altcoins too, but so far that venture was not very successful. Which is why I am sticking with bitcoin. Because in my perception a price of 1000 dollar will happen some day.

if the price reaches that said $1000+ mark once more in the history i would start a party in the name of bitcoin and pay for it with bitcoin.

people overhyped the halving, look at the previous halving. Nothing happened immediately, the price increase was several months after the halving, and the ATH was even more months after that.

The halving has an effect already in that the price is slowly grinding up now (we were in a bear market before that, and are in a bull market now), but the real effect will likely come in a few months from now.

That's true but I think you should not sell all your coins, keep some of them, as if you sell at $1k and very next day you may see price of $1200 or $1500 in that case you still have an opportunity to sell your coins.

It would be very great if bitcoin goes $1000 but its much great if i have so many bitcoin held in my wallet so i can enjoy most of it . It will depend on the current situation or trend that will circulates around that price of $1000.

If there's so much positive thoughts that has a technical basis then I will continue to hold but in this I have to make sure that Im monitoring the price in regular basis to prevent any regrets. Just a $20 -$30 price decrease is enough to start a panic dump.

If it is a sudden increase that happens in a matter of days, I would take the opportunity to sell. Price surges are usually followed by steep declines. If it is something that happens slowly and steadily, then I am willing to hold it longer. By reading how the market sentiment is, we should act accordingly and not just buy or sell carelessly.

Yes that is common doing to ride some sudden increase rally because afterwards a sudden decrease will happen. It's better to grab some profits out of that sudden increase than to continue to hold because they will just start from the beginning if ever that panic dump will start.

Dump is more active when there is price increase rally. Only a small price decrease can start a panic.

a lot of people around here will start selling even below $1000 (around $900) and some above it. but i will only sell something to just be able to take the money and celebrate this milestone and enjoy my profit but that would be all i do, and i will continue holding my bitcoin and start thinking about spending them directly instead of selling.

Well its up to you if you hold any longer. There are really people that they dont actually  sold their coins no matter how high the price is  because they are still belevingthat price would rise up even more. Probably let go of a big portion of my coins. 1000$ is such a big catch for me. I would get twice the value of what my bitcoin used to have. I might not sell all of my coins, though. The price might even go higher. I've been earning Bitcoins at the price of 500-600$, I would get like 40$ profit if I sell it at 1000$. 40$ might not be a big amount to those that live in a first world country, but it would really help us who live here in third world countries.

1000 dollar is not nothing, its a pretty large amount and I think that its a good chance to sell if its ever coming back on this number.

Maybe sell half of my coins. I don't mind even if I don't have that much coins, atleast I grabbed the opportunity for me to sell it in a higher price. Maybe I would even sell it at 700-800$ range. That's already a good deal for me because most of my coins were earned by me at a 500$ range.

I also would consider selling some bitcoins but not the half, the bitcoin is the future currency and I think that it can even go to a much higher amount soon or later.
We just need to keep patient and sometimes sell a bit to make profit.

I'm probably not going to do all that much to be honest, chances are I might sell them when the value gets high enough and re-buy at a later date once the market evens out and the market gives a sense of direction as to where it wants to go.

Maybe I'll hold on to them even if it plateaus, but for right now I'll just be conceptualizing what I might do and figure it out once we get there.

Now what happens if no one selling any bitcoin? I doubt the price rises instead it goes down, people need to trade bitcoins daily even if they don't need the money.
I don't think bitcoin reaches $1000 anytime soon, a very reason for it is because the price is too unstable which makes them not to trust the project.

Yeah , i doubt this december or year end reach about $800 for having a christmas celebration which people invest in foods ,gifts and other expenses because its holiday so the tendency for them especially bitcoiners will sell their bitcoins to use it. Big events especially holiday can affect bitcoin price as i think.
If $1000 reaches in any other months probably i think beyond march or may 2017 i will sell the half of my savings on bitcoin wallet and reinvest again to buy as it will drop after that $1000.

Whoa, $1200 is more of a dream. We barely saw the crossing of $750 this year, and $1,2k is the double of the current price. It would be awesome for all of us, but I think it's a small chance to happen. I'm thinking about a $950-$1k price.

People like you are the exact type of people that get disappointed quite often. Realistically, there is no way we will touch the $1000 price level. We won't even come close to it. It's better to shift your price targets to the end of 2017, or even beginning to mid of 2018.

I really hope that the value of the Bitcoin can be $1000 anytime soon now because I have been wanting to sell some Bitcoin for a while now.
I think that there still is a chance of it happening with in this year at the end of 2016.

The price of the bitcoin can do allot of things and that all depends about what others are doing with the bitcoin you know allot of people are not even doing something with the bitcoin and that is the biggest problem because they are just holding!!

Keep holding them.  I do not want to regret again about not being patient on holding my bitcoins.  It is really a good opportunity for everyone if its price continue to goes up.  I do not know if its price could possibly goes on that level but if ever that is, I will patiently waiting for that time.  Though I am not really convinced that it might happen since some traders will might stop that thing to happen.

You might be able to sell some at $1000 and rebuy after a drop,
but it would depend on how quickly it went up.
If it was a slow, steady increase over a couple years, I don't think the price would go back down.
If some event made it suddenly jump a couple hundred dollars like it did just after the halving in July,
you might be safe to sell and re-buy.

but i think you will not get the chance to buy bitcoin again below 800$, once its price cross the psychological limit of 1000$, the wise decision will be to hold it for some more time and not to sell it because this time the price of bitcoin can easily cross the 1200$ lever very easily.

I will just keep on doing what I have started doing.  I will earn more but harder in case bitcoin price goes up to that level.  I will keep every coin that I have and put some on investment wisely.  But I am afraid that if that price soar to that level it could possibly really become low after that price.  Maybe I will sell some to experience and taste the $1000 bitcoin price.

Same here, if bitcoin price would go high its price like that then i would for sure buy a gaming pc on my own bitcoin . The big question here is when it would reach on to that price point since we are just staying stable  at $600+ price as of now. Well that time would surely come. I agree with you, we wont know on when it would increase its price like that. It  happen in previous years back which it reaches above $1000+ then suddenly  drop its price and  now we are back to $600 , therefore  its expected that it would reach again on that price but  we wont know when it would happen.

if the price rises to $1000, I would sell most. then still hold partly because of my fear of regret when bitcoin prices could rise further to $1500 in a short time. but if it does not increase to $1500 and fell back, I was lucky to have sold part when the price $1000

that's why it is a good idea to have several wallets containing the coins that you have for investment purposes. one wallet for the coins that you want to hold for a few years, another wallet with coins that you plan to sell when the price reaches a certain level, and so on. i do that too, and so far it works out pretty well for me.

Yes I will too if I already make such profit. But not to the point of the massive dump. Overall it will depends on the current situation on why will the price reached $1000.

 After making analyzations about all the happenings revolving around the pump, then I will make a decision I will not regret.

i think the price of bitcoin is trading in its normal  way and it is expected that the price of bitcoin will reach to 1000USD very soon, may  be at the end of this year, but i do not think that the price will then fell down so much, although the market will take a little correction but still the price will not fell down to many and after that it will start raising again.

You should always hold on to a couple of them because maybe the price is going to rise even more.
