I am mobile all da time. ~CfA~ what do you mean by the future of crypto currency? and yes, smartphones replace desktops, and notebook e.g. Facebook users user their mobile instead of a PC. so yes, every crypto currency needs a mobile app. imagine apple pay would work with bitcoin or an altcoin instead of credit cards. You see more websites that resigned there website so it's also working on mobile devices. There are already mobile light wallets available that work really good.
