I think in the short term the effect of the Brexit on both the British and the EU economy will be slightly negative. In the long run however, the effect on the British economy will be positive, because Britain will gain a lot more flexibility dealing with its country specific matters without interference from the EU. In addition Britain will save about 5 Billion Euro every year that would otherwise be wasted to the EU muppet show.

The effect for the remaining EU countries will be negative in the long run. Reason is market's loss of confidence and the most likely even more extremist political actions of the EU socialists in charge in an futile and destructive effort to scare off the population of the remaining countries to follow the Brit's example.

The effect on Bitcoin can't be easily quantified. In general in times of uncertainty, safe haven assets see an increase in demand. It remains to be seen if Bitcoin is perceived as a safe haven asset, as the media have recently suggested.

ya.ya.yo!

I heard brexit causing poundsterling market soaring high and as a result many forex exchanges stopped temporarily buying and selling foreign currency activity.

It can take effect to bitcoin as alternative to exchange their stuck money on forex account.

a bunch of people got excited briefly about the effect on bitcoin. i couldn't see much going on anywhere myself but uk localbitcoins volume went up. maybe it's gonna take a few months or years for the effects to be felt but so much other stuff might be going on by then it might be hard to single it out.

Well, I guess I have to find new places to buy from, I shop a lot from UK, if no longer in EU I have to pay taxes on that and it just doesn't worth it, this is way I rarely shop from USA although great prices...

I assume a shitload of exports will cease to happen because of this, but it doesn't matter, Brexit is about racism and xenophobia not economy.
