could you be more specific, what software are you trying to install (exact name) and you could provide some screenshots too.

I'm trying yo install memu. It's an android emulator.
I can't get it to install properly because it gives me a .dll error decompression failed.
I will post a screenshot later when I got back on my pc.

decompression failed ?

sounds like a corrupt or cut off download.

Look to see if it has a digital signature by right clicking + hitting properties.
If it does then click around in that tab to get it checked..
If it says signature failed then your download is almost certainly corrupt.

re-download or find another source and very your permissions with UAC or Security soft etc

some programs & their installers have what is called an Authenticode signature embbeded in them.
The point of this is to verify if the program was tampered with.

i've just installed it on win 10 successfully. As Spoetnik advised, re-download the setup file. Try to run the setup file as administrator. If you could post the exact error message that would help a lot.

This solved my problem. Thanks spoetnik. My first download was made in chrome and that is the one that is giving me a .dll error. I tried downloading again using my phone this time and I successfully installed it. Thanks  to you!

Happy to hear you got it working one way or the other.
I have dabbled a little bit in try Android Emulators..
So i am curious what you think of that one once you try it out.

When i looked online i kept finding tons of them.
I tried the previous version of BlueStacks before and it was ok but no others.

I think it depends a lot on what you plan to do with the emulator though too.
Such as only games or app's with specific requirements etc
