Title: Coindesk/This world is scary!
Post by: czechkid on June 25, 2016, 11:12:31 AM
Hello,
As many of you know coindesk is mostly propaganda for what info they need to push or are paid to push. Well now there is an article called "Understanding Ethereum" on which they disabled comments. Well I'm guessing they did this so they dont get roasted. Well I told myself fine whatever. I clicked the Buy button and they are charging $499!!!!! I checked the calendar and it is not April Fools so what is going on?  :o

Lets roast them here if they dont allow comments there but I must say once again

Bitcoin will work much better if we all worked together and supported bitcoin...Yet again greedy people are finding a way to use current ways to change and control things and make a massive profit. I really hope that bankers and all these nasty people never get an advantage in Bitcoin...

Best news I always like to read is when any bank says Bitcoin has no chance and they wont be using it. That means they tried to find a way to control it and make money on it and it didnt work :)

$499 for a book about understanding a centralized shitcoin? ::) While I still have Coindesk in my list of bookmarks, I take news from there with a big grain of salt. I've noticed that their articles are sometimes severely biased and that their moderation (comments) is lacking or they censor them completely (as in this case). They have been known for promoting trashcoins in the past.

There are some whales with deep pockets involved in this propaganda. A bot in the Speculation section (i.e. Bitcoin price talk) tends to spam promotional ETH posts (while spreading FUD about Bitcoin at the same time).

Here's a Ethereum/DAO Video research report and it's free. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_O5fdMFKEC0)

Wow they are selling an Ethereum research report in an e-book format for $499 which is essentially regurgitated facts and details about the alt coin which can be found freely on the Internet if someone actually wants to learn about this technology. Just look at the table of contents and you will realize the whole e-book looks like a Powerpoint presentation thrown together with some flashy pictures and diagrams here and there haha. I don't know who will buy this piece of knowledge for half a grand because 46 pages of a research report are not worth that bloody much in the first place  ;D

Its better to put 499 in ether and not undertand it than buy the ebook

Op, just ignore those fools from Coindesk. I find the link to this article and you are right. They are charging $499 for that ebook.
You need to be seriously either a total gullible idiot or brainwashed ETH fan to buy something like this for 500 dollars!

I suspect Coinbase forget to put a dot in that price tag - and it is $4.99 not $499

I would like to hear an official statement from Coindesk regarding this 'Ethereum report e-book'.

This is getting rediculous... All the information is available for free online..

The only books I know of that are charged in these kind of numbers are for instance anatomical atlasses, where precise drawings of the body were made by cartoonists with anatomical background.. This is just insane...

Ignore them, they are probably taking bribes for their news.

I wonder which of those Coindesk will choose as their preferred way to use the $499 they take for each sale? (hopefully zero) ;D My prediction is: not buying ETH, lol

I used to think CoinDesk was a good source of news until I wised up & learnt that they're just corporate shills. Why else would they cover ETH so much, it's too obvious.

$499 for a ebook with no physical pages! This is one of the most expensive book I have ever come across. I have quite negative opinion on Ethereum, just feel like it is being used as a big pump and dump. Time will tell- now bitcoin has Seg Wit on-board and we are on our way to scale up.

it the world of open source where everything is also available online for free they want to sell an "e-book" for a ridiculously high price.
and worst of all is that it is about ethereum, one of the known altcoins that is 100% manipulation because of its huge premine

lemme give you a TL;DR
Table of Contents
What is Ethereum?one of many pump and dumps
Supply, Trading & Availabilityit has unlimited supply which is 90% premined
Platform Functions & Use Casesthe only usage is to be pumped and dumped to fill the pockets of owners
Technical Improvements (Challenges)challenges are consists of none-stop spam of social media to hype up the coin when they want to pump it and also finding a way to keep the spammer accounts alive longer is proved to be challenging.
Ethereum 2.0 (Solutions)finding a way to prevent speculation board mods from deleting eth spams that are calling bitcoin ponzi and eth the better thing!
Technical Infrastructure & Key Playersfind the premine owners and you find key players
Conclusionbe careful if you invest in eth because dump is always around the corner.
Appendix: Getting Started With Ethereum
find the bottom and start with eth before it is pumped and sell before it is too late :D

It's their product, we shouldn't care less with what they want to sell. IMO their target market are finance executives and not the crypto-community in general. These people have the buck to spend and not a lot of time in their hands, so a research report like this can come in handy.
