Hey,

since I got rid of my windows XP and installed w7, I cant see my gpu in GUIminer anymore.
Reinstalled drivers and installed the SPD. Used driversweeper but didnt have any effect.
Also I installed service pack 1 but still nothing in GUIminer.

Please help me, I am stuck x

Do you get a warning message when launching GUIminer, telling you that no GPU could be found, or is it just not in the device list?
Can you use the Catalyst Control Center normally ?
Does anything look wrong (warning sign) in the Device Manager ?

Try and install the drivers with AMD Autodetect it works really great.

In some strange cases I have noticed that I need to start with an older version of CCC for older cards. You might want to try CCC 11.12 or earlier to start with.

A really easy thing to give a try would be to install the drivers from the disk you got see if it is still making problems for you then.

I got it working now it was shown as [0-0] Barts ...

Should try using cgminer it is so much better than GUIminer and a lot less problems.

The is also the 50Miner (http://50miner.org) GUI for several popular CLI miners like cgminer, poclbm, phoenix or Diablo, and themselves are using each other's core, like poclbm, diablo or phoenix.

It was built and designed for the 50BTC (http://50miner.org) pool, especially in Simple mode, but the Advanced mode you can use any pool that you want, including those supporting/requiring the Stratum protocol instead of getwork.

Windows only, requires .NET Framework version 4

50BTC pool has some really weird fees but if you are looking for easy starting places you can try http://bitminter.com/

I have been mining there and the payout is a plain, simple 25 BTC / current diff with 3% fee, a flat PPS, with payout anytime if balance is at least 0.01 BTC, and no maturing to wait for.

Granted, I prefer mining on MtRed now. You may call 50BTC unattractive, IMO it's still a lower PPS fee compared to say BTCGuild PPS at 5% fee. But how are those fees weird? I can't really get your point.

I was just curious what sort of speeds (in Mhash/s) people are getting running on their PC's?

I setup GUIminer tonight with btcGuild, getting about 29mhash
with ATI Radeon 4600 (overclocked by about 15%) , intel quad core 6600.

Not sure if its even worth the electricity but wanted to try it out :)

As for electricity, there are profits calculator, but as a rule of thumb, with such a low hashrate (compared to high end GPUs), it could only be profitable if you would let your PC turned on anyway. An idle computer, GPU excluded, needs power somewhere between 60W and 120W (what I measured on different rigs / PCs), depending on the hardware (CPU, SDD vs HDD, etc). Monitor power excluded of course, if any ;)

The power consumption of the GPUs can be checked in the many review sites, such Anandtech, TechPowerUp, etc. Always check what consumption they say, "Total system" or "just GPU".
