First investing and storing  are two different things. With storing you BTC you hold onto it  hoping  USD value goes up, many use things such as paper  wallets for this.  Investing you are trying to gain additional coins,  and requires money to invest.

If you are looking at cloud hosting stay away from hashocean, they have had multiple thread's in the past few weeks that seem  like shills pushing  it.  It appears to be a scam site, if not they do use scammy tactics look at ROI calculator - https://hashocean.com/repayment/ .  It is not possible for next two years no difficulty change....  yet it sure shows that on the calculator.

If you want cloud mining  go with hashnest it is legit and linked to Bitmain.  It is not guaranteed ROI, but you stand  a shot unlike a scam site such as one you mentioned.

before you want to invest in minning site (but i won't recommend, because too many people got scammed from minning site, recently cldmine) it would be better if you read all first about news that minning site in this thread or other source, 0.25 btc is high amount with current btc price, my opinion if you want to invest, just invest in trusted gambling sites (but you can lose also), all of invest have risk. my suggest is just hold your btc for now,  i think btc price would going up again until halving happens,

hey patrick , investing is a big risk , most of the invest offers mostly end up scamming you.
I suggest you to hold your bitcoins , the price seems to go up and higher everyday , before 1 month price was 445$ , now price on 600-700$ .
if you have a good head start learning trade and trade with that 0.25BTC , thats like 150$ this days which is alot of trading . be smart you will make money.
about where to store , i advice you to store your bitcoins on electrum , dont use a online like blockchain (online wallet) , store it on electrum ( offline wallet) , read more about electrum before you use it.

I agree with notlist3d, he explained very well. Both invest and stored is really different, and i think investing is have more risk than stored. Stored your bitcoin and wait the price of bitcoin increase is more good imo.

Don't put your precious coins into any kind of cloud mining site.

Beside the fact that 98% of the cloud mining sites are nothing more than a scam, you will most likely not even get your initial investment amount back with an increasing difficulty.

I would suggest you to simply hold your coins offline and backed up and learn some trading with certain Bitcoin related trading apps that allow you to trade with in-app (not real) money.

if you don't know what to do with your bitcoin then it is best if you just hold them in your wallet or best thing is putting them in a cold storage and just keep them there for a big price rise.

but since you have mentioned hashocean, i have to warn you to be very careful about them because they seem so shady and it is highly possible that they are running a ponzi scam.

Just like what most other users suggest to other members. Just hold that kind of amount because it's safer than investing on any site and also you can still make a profit by just holding it. Just have some patience on waiting for the price to increase and i think that after halving the price will skyrocket up to $1k per piece and i think it's the right time to sell our coins to secure our profits ;D.

Hey Guys,
I actually have 0.25 BTC but I dont know what to with it.

so just hold it in you bitcoin wallet. try and learn more about bitcoin and see where you can spend it. for example you can check services like purse.io, gyft or even steam to spend you coins.

you should be afraid because hashocean is most probably not a good idea for an investment.

investments like cloudmining or anything similar which you don't do anything and only get paid the profit have never been good and they all turn into scams.
other investments for 0.25BTC can be trading which is also hard and risky but at least it is better than trusting a third party with your money.

Don't be serious on gambling because you can lost all your bitcoin in just a few hours because there is no assurance on gambling. I would rather do altcoin trading with that amount because i can buy a lot of altcoins now because they are getting cheaper day after day because of the price hike of bitcoin. So if you just buy it some altcoins i think soon you will double that amount or reach the 1 btc amount ;D.

With increased accessing option and security features for storing you could find the Blockchain.info wallet for storing your bitcoins. Also you can try to find the right person and lend rather than investing.

Don't follow this. Blockchain wallet service have a lot problem, better stay away.
My advice is storing on paper wallet if you want to keep it for long term. Or use electrum wallet, they have a good security features for keep your coins safe.

i would definitely reconsider investing in a cloud mining site or any online investing site for that matter. i have never seen a positive review about an investment done online with bitcoin. you shoud just store it and let the price of btc be your investment.

Dude, Save the BTC you have for now. Keep watching the growth of BTC. When you see that the growth is enough to exchange the BTC to your currency, think that it is really required to exchange now. If it is really needed then we have more traders in this forum. Find the best and exchange. We have many posts which would explain you this. Please go through them.

You did the best thing by not investing in hashocean, they were cheaters who ran away breaking the trust of more than 700,000 users.
Instead of investing, just have them with yourself, you will get good price for them in the upcoming days, halving is coming, so why are you thinking of investing?

Keeping your bitcoins safe in cold storage is the best thing you can do at a moment, as its really difficult to trust anyone when it comes to an online investments.

I think investing into an organization that does gambling is a smart idea, maybe not gambling itself (unless ur doing it for fun). Recently, I invested into a alt coin project called Let it Ride which is gambling based. The house always wins!

Don't invest your coins!!
Keep your coins or buy something useful to you with them.
If you have knowledge about trading, do that to increase your coins.
But all those investment opportunities you read here so much about are just methods of people to take some money out of you pocket.
Don't trust them!

Bitcoin is itself an investment since the price changes a lot.
But, I advice you to invest your Bitcoins in a good site, I do not really know if Hashocean is as good site, but I think that all this websites like this are risky.
By investing like that, you can lose your Bitcoins, so I can not be sure that you will get paid.

I second that one holding bitcoin or storing it on cold storage for long term purposes is one of the best way to still make a profit because i think that every year the bitcoin price is continue rising and even he didn't do anything he can still make a profit. For me the next halving on 2020 is the best time to sell that stored coins because i think the price will be stable to $1k and it can reaches up to $5k.

You can't be sure that all time the price will be high because bitcoin price is always depend on demand and supply. How can you say that the price will continue to become high if almost the users will sell all their coins. Just think about that. Don't expect too much for the price because those people who expect too much always gets hurt  :'(

Yeah it's the best option to hold because you can still make a profit without doing anything and it is also one of the safest method on earning money by just holding it for a long term investment :). For that $1k price i don't think that i would easily for bitcoin to reach because we can see now that the price is not even touching $800 and it just 4 days before halving so i think it will be the same just like 2013 that it will skyrocket in the month of november ;D.

If you want to just store the bitcoins, use an offline wallet. If you want to trade them on an exchange, there are several exchanges that people use such as poloniex, kraken, btc-e, etc. Just don't put all of your bitcoins on an exchange because you really can't trust anyone.

That's right just store bitcoins to a hardware wallet or offline wallet which is secured and also have less risk of getting lost of your bitcoins.

Trading altcoins is also good for investing bitcoin because there a lot of coins to invest or choose and most of them always have a opportunity to get price increase so it's better to buy altcoins now because they are cheap because of high price of bitcoin. But one of things to remember in trading is need a lot patience so you can earn a lot of bitcoins soon. ;D.

The best way to invest in Bitcoin, is to be in Bitcoin: The price is directly related to demand (among other things). The more demand, the higher the price Bitcoin may reach.

My view: I would prefer a stable coin rather than one that goes like a bubble but I (we) are such little fishes in this big ocean that we can't make any difference int he price.

Lately, The price of bitcoin has steadily gone up and the analysis shows it has room to grow.

Here is My opinion:

1. Save your coins.
2. Buy BTC anytime it drops below $500.
3. Use BTC in a zero-sum fashion (i.e. Use 0.5B buy 0.5B)

Buy Gift Cards with Bitcoin

Trading is the best option for me because all other investements on other sites are either too risky or just ponzi schemes just to scam users.
There is risk involved in trading as well but that will be dependent on your skills. You can try altcoins trading as well as day trading with bitcoins as well.

trading is the best way to grow, but we need good skills. whereas investment does not have to have skills.
the best investment options in my opinion, we can participate in projects altcoin ICOs, it was really good in my opinion to investments there. but you must remain vigilant and see the potential of the coin, because some of them it can sometimes be a scam.

Yes trading requires skills and investement dont, but its much better to invest on your skills rather than depending on someone else project, company or website.Specially in bitcoin world there are many scam schemes of investement running around,so must be more careful while investing.

Trading would  be the  option though  but  it would really takes time to learn  on it because  as we all know doing trading   is not easy as it sounds because   you would risk  up your money  on trading coins therefore you must be  knowledgeable  with it  because if  not  then  for sure lossing  your money  would  be  fast for sure.

He would like to invest on HashOcean. Who is looking for this kind of investiment to invest large amounts of money usually doesn't have skills to trade hahaha

Just want passive easy income without needed to complete jobs or any kind of tasks. I think in this case the best thing to do is just to hold the BTCs. Better alternative for him.

yup but its really worth for your bitcoin. and i think its no need to takes too long to know about the market movement unless we only make deposit and not to trading.

for now, selecting an investment programs is really difficult because there are no safe investment that really guarantee they can always pay their member even for cloud mining. but if you really want to make invest, my suggestion is do research for first, read the review of each investment site, don't get rush and don't be greed, play safe with only the money you are ready to loss and don't make all in of your money.

This thread is really informative. I was in the impression that hashocean was legit back then, but look at it now, it's definitely a scam. It's so hard to invest bitcoin, so far I haven't seen a good one yet. Most of the time people would say just to keep it and wait for the price to rise up or trading.

Very  nice option regarding  in your bitcoin because  finding  legit  investment nowadays  is somehow  hard  already because of lots of scams do exist and  its really better to  hold  your bitcoins rather  than you force it  to  invest  into some  untrusted  websites.

If you don't know what to do with your bitcoin then it is best if you just hold them in your wallet or best thing is putting them in a cold storage and just keep them there for a big price rise.

Don't put your precious coins into any kind of cloud mining site.

Beside the fact that 98% of the cloud mining sites are nothing more than a scam, you will most likely not even get your initial investment amount back with an increasing difficulty.

Learn some trading with certain Bitcoin related trading apps that allow you to trade with in-app (not real) money.

I agree since most cloud mining sites ended as a scam,so much like this site closes when bitcoin price rises and after halving. Investing is a risky one, chose the investment you want, where it is in trading,ICO's,lending etc. Always invest the the bitcoin you can afford to lose when you are uncertain so that you will not ending up regretting your actions.

Investment is quite a risky work, since there are people out there who may scam you. However, I would suggest you to hold or trade. Holding BTC have a higher chance of giving you profit that trading. Trading is a difficult task too. It requires a lot of knowledge into both Bitcoin and the product that it is being traded with. However, if you know as to how to trade it is highly profitable and I would definitely suggest it. (if you know how to trade.)

Since I am not highly confident with Altcoin trading, I just hold BTC and trade it into gold when its price is showing signs of dropping. This strategy has gotten me quite a bit of Bitcoin.

Hey Guys,

I actually have 0.25 BTC but I dont know what to with it.
I already tought about to invest it in a website like hashocean.com (http://hashocean.com) but I am afraid to lose all my Satoshis. :-/
So whats your idea where to invest or something different to do with the 0.25 BTC.

Best regards,

Patrick :)

I wonder if the guy invested the amount on HaschOcean then he must have lost it as that site scammed a lot of people and ran way with their bitcoins.
Even today, there are still a lot of places like hashocean where users invest their bitcoins thinking they are trusted and they run away after staying for a year or so.

Its hard to trust any online investment site at a moment for investing our bitcoins as they will definitely scam you in long run and disappear with your funds, so its better to stay away from those sites and if you want to really grow your coins then start using them in trading.

The safest option would be store bitcoins in a wallet such as a paper wallet, do not use one where you do not have access to the private key. A good investment would be a casino bankroll, usually a guaranteed profit and a very low risk. Make sure to diversify. Personally I think investing in a bitcoin casino bankroll is better than just leaving bitcoins in a wallet.

My advice would be just not to invest anywhere with btc. Bitcoin is a volatile currency, meaning investments with it are just not a good idea. If you do see a investment that pays good interest on your btc, it would likely be a scam. so just dont invest plain btc anywhere and store them on a paper wallet to prevent any digital trace that can be hacked.

If had that amount in your hand since it almost months past then you should kept that bitcoin in what bitcoin wallet you use. It's most safer there holding it than investment your bitcoin will prevent of scamming do not invest your bitcoin in some bitcoin cloud mining website there are not really true try to put that  on casino.

Holding will depend on whether bitcoin will produce the desired result of increasing price. But sometimes, bitcoin just suddenly drops. So be careful when that happens.

Holding surely generates profits to the holder but only if he is patient, because as you said sometimes the price drops and sometimes it grows, so if you are willing to get profits just by holding them for one or two months then you might don't get success in that as the price might drop a bit in that period of time, though it recovers again but as i said you will have to be patient for that.

Don't trade it! or invest it! You will lose it all.

Please follow some of the advice here, store it. Hold it. Open a Coinbase where you can trade it to fiat right away.

For such a small about like 0.25B I would just hold it forever. If it gets to $0 so be it. If it gets to $10,000 thanks me later.

Holding will make you rich if the economy of bitcoin will be more progressive in the future but trading provide you an active income and you have the chance to grow your bitcoins so it is also one of the ways to consider in growing your money aside from investment.

In trading or exchange website if you are going to store your bitcoin then it is good in exchange website where you can really grow your bitcoin buy doing selling and then buying for me it is really good now to do trading because of the price is really not stable and you can also buy some altcoins.

The best option is to hold on to your bitcoin as it is and let it increase in its value in the coming years. In the mean time, you can study about various projects and other altcoins and then invest some of your bitcoin into them. I have invested some of my bitcoins into Singular DTV and Iconomi. These two projects are in their early stages, but I believe in them.

I will not suggest you to trade and gamble with your bitcoins as chances are more for you to loose them all.

There are many investiment options, but only few of those options really worth and are legit. Most investiments are scams ponzies and hyips trying to steal your money offering to you high chances to make easy profit. Avoid these schemes or you can lose a lot of money.

You must know very well the site you are investing and if possible the owner. If you trust them and they already showed a decent service skills to the community you can invest there. But you won't find high returns. It's really hard to find good investiments to say the true. Because of it many people just hold btcs on the wallet and wait its price increase.

It's upon to you: store btcs or invest on a trusted site... You can try both and see what you like more.

Hold them. Do not using in cloud mining, most of them are scams. I'd say buy some gift cards if you are willing to spend it now. I am going to use them for a game that I have been playing for years. It accepts bitcoins, so I am looking to join a Signature campaign by which I can get about 2500 INR per month or per 2 weeks.

For you, buying amazon gift cards is the best option, you have to do your own research but purse.io is pretty promising.

Must be a little safer than in online wallet, but it can still be hack if the owner is not very careful on installing program, malware is always there to hack our information. Therefore, it's necessary to know what you are investing and make a careful study on it.

You should not invest your money to investment sites since most of them are scam. In the end, they are yet another ponzi scheme. I wont recommend gambling too since it has very high risk of you losing your bitcoin even if there's a chance to get good returns. Ill suggest thst you do altcoin trading since it is lees riskier here since you are the one to buy the coin you wanna trade. The risk of this method lessens as you accumulate more knowledge about it.

Trading is probably better than investing a capital into gambling (means gambling it) or a hyip and ponzi scheme, because these two things never gives you guaranteed profit while in trading everything depends on your skills and experiences, you will manage your capital yourself and there will be no involvement of any third party at all, so someone would probably take care of his own money more than someone else.

No question trading is better because you do not have to trust others but only invest with yourself, in that way you will know if you have the capacity to earn in trading and to manage yourself in trading, and if you are good you will know that because you will be in profit and will consistently make profit.

Hashocean is not transparent to its information so it's still considered as a illegal because if they are legal company or site, They will provide various informations about to their site so it will make investors feel secure.
Trading sites is not safe for growing your bitcoin because it still risky for our bitcoin because you're a real trader, you already know that consequences of trading and one of the worst part of trading is getting financial loss or being bankrupt because of the wrong and careless move in the market. So if you want to feel safe in trading, You should study first about the market and do some research to make your trading profit always positive ::).

Best advise you can get is to stick it in cold storage (offline) and what it grow.  There are of course plenty of opportunities to try to have that .25 make you money but if you dont know what you are doing, you are surely going to lose it.
Cold storage sometimes it will have some problem much better to save it into blockchain.info this bitcoin wallet is really trusted by most bitcoin users in the world and you can use this bitcoin wallet to do some gambling activties also coz some bitcoin wallet are too strict on what you are using it.

I store my bitcoin in my wallet on the blockchain website as have had a offline wallet before and id not back up my private key so when my pc broke I lost10btc.  I have invested in faucets with not a not a lot of profit so now I buy and sell bitcoins that's the best way to make profit from bitcoins so by buying low and selling at a higher price.

I think you should follow some well reputed members here who already invest big amounts in some sites, wait and watch them doing so in case of investment. And if you want to just store them, then paper wallets are best.

Patrick :)

I wonder if you have invested your bitcoins to that website then it must have been painful for you to lose it as the site turned scam after some time of your post, and if i had an amount like that stored in my wallet i would have invested it in trading as i know i can earn some good amount of profit out of that.
I think you can just give him a suggestion and then it is up to him either he is going to do so or not, you cannot be blame for that. To me the best option is that in beginning you should invest your bitcoin in alt coins but try to invest your money in low price alt coin but having good potential to increase, and in this way you will just start receiving  your experience and after having good experience you can invest a good amount of money.

I have better idea for you, if you feel fear of loss the amount which you have it, than better is that should hold it because in this way, at least you have no afraid of lose your amount, and bitcoin price automatically increase, and when you think now bitcoin has reached in a good price than should sell it. Actually, i am telling you, because i already did it, and it is best way to gain money from bitcoin.

This is the best idea or thing you will do especially if you dont have the idea on what to do on your bitcoin especially when you dont have knowledge on other investments which are related to bitcoin. Holding will somehow assure your bitcoin to be safe and earning with it because price of bitcoin continues to rise on the long run. If you do force to invest without any knowledge that bitcoin of your will be gone.

well that's not enough money to invest for. im suggesting that you could save it up until you have atleast 1btc ithink or .5btc so you can save it up on gambling sites bank roll i heard you could make a profit with that with more stable than other activities and also one more thing dont ever trust bitcoinmining for free there's no such thing like that its all scam .

you can start trading with that amount with yobit and make a lot of money. 0.25b you should expect up to 10% return monthly or you can buy potential altcoin hold it for some time and sell it when it increases in value and you can also donates it to bitcointalk.

You can Start doing trading with your 0.25 Btc because in Trading your Wins and Losses Depends upon your Knowledge and experience and in trading No one can Scam You but don't Put your all Bitcoins on one trading website always use Different Sites for security and safety of your funds.

Just having an ample amount of bitcoins is already an investment, because bitcoin's price just keeps on increasing. You don't need to invest them in any other sites or hyip thing, most of them are scams and you risk losing instead of earning.

I use copay and mycelium apps to store my bitcoins, but i only store a few... those i use because as you know, it's always risky to store bitcoins in any online wallet. I keep most of my coins in paper wallets, those i plan to hold for the next five years.
