Title: To add insult to injury to all hashocean users...
Post by: Tourgasm on June 27, 2016, 07:28:24 PM
so I was one of  the ones who lost their investments from Hashocean, and today I got an email from someone claiming that they are from hashocean and it states the following :

"Hello, unfortunately these days our website hashocean.com, was hacked. Hackers took our domain and we have no control over anything. For our stupidity, we do not have the backup of the database. We will do the refund for you, but as we have not saved history, we will refund you your mining purchase under the following conditions. "Take the following actions properly, we have more than 700,000 users, and if we are looking for 1 by 1, would take years." To receive your purchases refund please visit: hashocean-refunds.com"

If anyone who gets one of these emails sees this do not send any money to them,

Chances are they are just trying to take your bitcoin and run

Interesting, not every scam tries to pull a double like this. First luring people in with phantom riches is common, running off with a poor excuse like "we've been hacked" is common as well, but this adds plain old abuse of desperation. Obvious advice; take your loss. If you invested, your money is gone. Stop hoping.

Exactly that is why I am warning people about the email. I literally got 7 emails from the same account stating the same thing so to me that raises a red flag. as for me, I may buy an antminer or look into other mining alternatives. The funny thing is I hummed and hawed for close to a year about hashocean then did research on it using cmmonitor to see if they were paying until i got into it.

Oh then you finally found the headquarters hashocean? good job! now disclose that image to the 700,000 people who have invested in this firm claim their bitcoins, has a guy who did loan of $ 65.000 and invested in hashocean and all his family invested in hashocean, I do not know if that hole (hashocean headquarters) will have space for 700,000 members who wish to complain.

I do not know if that hole (hashocean headquarters) will have space for 700,000 members who wish to complain.

I don't know neither if it has enough space for the stolen coins (converted to USD) and for the ongoing scammed bitcoins by hashocean refund ponzi mail
Shame for the ones falling in this obvious scam
From 0.1 to 1 BTC to ''recover'' your money... What a shame... DOUBLE SCAM!

Website experience date don't give any guarantees if they will scam you or not. The payment for extending  such date is a little fraction of what they earn with such scams. Just don't invest in cloudmining anymore the chance is way to big that they stop paying before your contract ends.

@OnlineDragon I thank you for the advice, what about genesis mining or hash flare? They charge daily maintenance fees of 0.008 per 10 ghs? The roi is about 6 months. Or no to any cloud mining companies?

I lost already with gaw mining, so decided never to use any other cloud mining. But let's be honest this was too clear a scam if you now how cloud mining scam operates.
Their tactic is the same as Chris did with LTCgear, just stall or give people hope it will be good.

My advice is.. don't trust hem.

I would raise 2 questions about that email that you claim that you received
1. The person who sent you that email of course knows your email address, that's elementary  ;D
2. That person who knows your email address knows that you invested in HashOcean

So who knows your email and knows that you are an investor of HashOcean?
HasOcean? or a good friend of yours who knows about your investment unless you only use 1 email for HashOcean and your personal mail and you posted it somewhere.

Its funny that people come here after they where scammed.
Not a single bell in their mind rung when they where "investing" for impossible profits.
How hard it was to check this site before? It was known allover the place about that
company.
I'm not even sorry for those who got cheated. Its your own greed, its your fault.
Such scam's will flourish until people understand that just like ordinary money, bitcoin don't grow on trees.
Use google before investing! Use your head as well.
Hundreds of willing to advise lads on this forum could save you the nerves and money...
but you just dint care.

Only fools of those fools will believe and send money to that refund email that they received. It should already be obvious that they have no plan on returning your peoples money and they are trying to get more by asking fools to send them more.

That address doesn't exist in San Francisco is just some random meme generator that has been put online during the time Hashocean was still paying users, some kind of warnings to all of them using and believing that website. I still think that enough has been said about this scam ponzi, lets forget it and move on, and more of it to be careful to not fall for this kind of websites.

IMO (and only my opinion, NOT a recommendation or guarantee or anything like that) the only cloud mining service that I'm confident is legit is HashNest.com. Its owned and run by Bitmain, who make the very popular and awesome Antminer ASIC arrays. So it stands to reason that they actually have the hardware to back their system. They also have paid me steadily. That's all I will say. Caveat Emptor.

I also lost some "hashpower" (lulz) that I invested in HashOcean. Luckily thats all I lost, I had them set to pay out (vs. accumulate and reinvest) from day one pretty much.

Cloud mining is dubious at best. Be careful, not only is the idea in principle risky; you have to deal with services that might actually have bad intentions.

Also, I feel like that refund mess is some third party ass hats

Apparently, there's a lot of people in here who are posting about HashOcean offering refunds but you would have to send the exact amount of BTC to a certain BTC address. If you are planning to get scammed twice, then do it. HashOcean is a big HYIP site and has a lot of investors (700,000 people according to them). If someone has an access to all these 700,000 email addresses, then he can surely make money by sending these people an email to trick them.

Just like other HYIP sites, HashOcean might officially send a message saying that they will refund you but they will never refund you. I hope people would learn their lesson and won't invest to any HYIP sites in the future. HashOcean will surely go back into life with another name and another domain.

Well the only thing close to hash ocean is bitsrapid but i wouldn't recommend them. Website expires in a year but it shows a company name on its whois so maybe they are legit who knows I just don't want to see anyone get burned twice

it was good that you spoke name this site:

bitsrapid

I had asked before if anyone knows the headquarters of this site bitsrapid in china?

I heard that bitsrapid hired a Chinese engineer to keep the alleged mining machines of the site has in China.

Bitsrapid headquarters in China and they hired a Chinese engineer to keep all the mining machines of the site in China ? Only a fool can believe this, this website is a copy cat of Hashocean and I like many other persons here have warned against these sites almost everyday and we are also sure bitsrapid is so badly done as a website that is being run from some kid in his mom's home basement.

ponzi scheme, people who say they have a company, when they are only children with a computer and a website.

so I was one of  the ones who lost their investments from Hashocean, and today I got an email from someone claiming that they are from hashocean and it states the following :

"Hello, unfortunately these days our website hashocean.com, was hacked. Hackers took our domain and we have no control over anything. For our stupidity, we do not have the backup of the database. We will do the refund for you, but as we have not saved history, we will refund you your mining purchase under the following conditions. "Take the following actions properly, we have more than 700,000 users, and if we are looking for 1 by 1, would take years." To receive your purchases refund please visit: hashocean-refunds.com"
This is amazing. The amount of idiocy mixed with impudence is over the limit here.
I don't know if this is doing of original Hashocean owners or this site is created by some random scammers who want to profit on this situation but nonetheless it is ridiculous.
And the worst part of this - PEOPLE ARE PAYING THEM this 'refund' address 18jEEyG9DTj6VsLfTscGkQS77G8FMK514t received over 20 BTC alredy! THIS IS MADNESS!

someone just uses situation for scam those naive people and they believe its real refund lol how stupid they are

well that's normal for them to believe that they will have a refund from that sort of scam because they have invested their money especially to those who have invested so much but yes it is stupid .
