I'm wondering if it's true that you can mine with a router. If so how well do they preform?

I believe you can with specific routers and special firmware, although I don't know the details. I doubt they would reach more then a few Mhash unless they're extremely powerful enterprise-grade routers though.

The only thing i know is that with some ASIC you can mine with them and connecting them directly to internet via the router, without using a computer. But the ASIC mine, not the router.

If you were hoping to do CPU mining from a router, you are about 30 months too late.
