Title: What is your favourite quote?
Post by: Dank Frank on June 28, 2016, 12:40:53 PM
what is your favourite quote?

From yourself or quoted by someone else. :)

Mine is:
If you're going through hell, keep going.
By Winston Churchill (although there is a discussion going if it is really his)

If you're trying to achieve, there will be roadblocks. I've had them; everybody has had them. But obstacles don't have to stop you. If you run into a wall, don't turn around and give up. Figure out how to climb it, go through it, or work around it. Michael Jordan

Cane Nero magna bella Persica - meaning: Tell, oh Nero, of the great wars of Persia.

Perfectly correct latin sentence usually reported as funny from modern Italians because the same exact words, in today's dialect of Rome, mean "A black dog eats a beautiful peach", which has a ridiculously different meaning.

It is not the strongest of the species that survives, nor the most intelligent that survives. It is the one that is most adaptable to change. ~Charles Darwin?~

Also the quote I gave isn't just some fancy words to me, I actually live by this. I believe it to be so true. Have been testing it for decades  :P and it holds true in all scenarios ..

So you still keep on adapting? Someday it will give you wings and a tail ;)

“You start with a darkness to move through but sometimes the darkness moves through you.”   - I forgot the link when I read this quote.
Google attributed this quote to a contemporary American poet Dean Young (born 1955), but actually it is rephrasing of classic quote by a german philosopher Friedrich Nietzsche (1844-1900): "Whoever fights monsters should see to it that in the process he does not become a monster. And if you gaze long enough into an abyss (darkness – me), the abyss (darkness – me) will gaze back into you."

– an anonymous philosopher (N.V.Kh.)
