No, still I didn't get any options to pay by BTC as a mode of payments. I see most them here are paying by BTC as a payment in different shopping sites, No even enabled in my region. Which location you belongs to?

No i haven't ever used bitcoin to purchase flight tickets, but if I would like then yeah why not but only if it would cost me less than paying in cash because we can book fights through bitcoin debit cards but it cost more than paying through local bank or cash.

i once searched the services that would offer to buy flight tickets for bitcoin but i have never found anything for me so i had to buy it all for fiat though i got the tickets

i think i would definitely buy my flight tickets in the near future and hopefully save a little bit bitcoins with my orders though i think that we need more websites offering such thing

I wouldn't do it going through a broker. You hear plenty of tales of flight bookings being mangled by them and I'd want my credit card company to nail them with their evil powers.

I don't think many people do

I think there used to be a few people that did on this forum, or I had at least seen some people comment on it before and how they tried to use it, but I've heard Expedia or some related business stopped accepting Bitcoin a while ago, and I think it was because of lack of interest. Maybe it was encouraged by the value collapse a year and a half ago, but I don't know if companies still accept Bitcoin for flights.

Expedia was always hotels only and I think they've thrown in the towel anyway. There appear to be quite a few places offering flights for BTC but I've only heard of a handful of them.

I haven't purchased air tickets with Bitcoin yet but I have seen some people on Airbnb offering room rentals for Bitcoin. I am planning to travel to Scandinavia in the fall and I would love to buy air tickets and book hotel rooms fully paid with Bitcoin directly but if I can't find offers for that I will just exchange some coins for cash and still enjoy myself thanks to Bitcoin exclusively.

I never purchase plane ticket before and I won't until I need it or It became mainstream :P

There are some travel agency already accepted Bitcoin before but I don't think many people tried it yet
So If you want a mass adoption of Bitcoin plane ticket you really need a good advertising, not just some word typed in a forum, real advertising ;D

Until then, I'm just gonna cash out my bitcoin into cash and pay it that way :)

Thanks for the feedback so far everyone, I was just wondering if people have been intrigued by it before - I find it quite compelling.

While we are at it, what was the most insane thing you have spent your bitcoins on? (lets keep it clean please  ;D ;D ;D)

I think you're right to. Expedia is a no brainer.

Some site linked to a price scraper feeding you lovely prices and then presenting you with a QR code needs some due diligence. Any old asshole could be running it.

I can't. I fly most often with Easyjet and Vueling, but neither accepts BTC. I really wish some major airline company would accept BTC.

I pay for flights all the time, all over the world using bitcoins.

http://www.cheapair.com

Great service, and if the price of the ticket goes down before your flight you can get a voucher for the difference (up to $100).

I didn't know it was possible. But now I googled the thing and found this site https://btctrip.com/ . No idea if it's legit though. And actually it's not working right now: "We are currently updating our website"

Yes, when you order a ticket Bitcoin is shown as a payment option. I've been using the site for several years.

http://www.cheapair.com works in every country. I use it to book flights in Germany all the time.

Doesn't look like it offers any flights from cheapo European carriers though. Probably good for super international and transatlantic stuff, even then it's missing Wowair and Norwegian, but not much use if you want to drift around Europe for pennies. I can't find anything for my normal routes reasonably priced.

True, doesn't have Ryanair or Wizz or those smaller ones. Mainly the flights that are found on major travel sites.

Ive come to the same conclusion. Cheapair isn't that cheap. I sure appreciate the idea of paying with BTC, but I don't like the idea or paying a premium for it.
