Title: Exploring a group buy of s-9s' and of antminer psu's to be hosted
Post by: philipma1957 on June 28, 2016, 11:02:32 PM
here is the post I did.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1512967.new#new

This is really early groundwork.  may never get off the ground

First it would be after the ½ ing

Second it would be hosted in Canada

Third    it would be 5 to 25 s-9 buy

Fourth  I would not collect any btc until after the  ½ ing

Fifth    We poked about at this with the s-7 and it did not happen so this may not happen

here is my post in the data center thread.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1512967.msg15401718#msg15401718

I need to find out access to each miner do we allow each owner the ability to direct his miner is a key point.

please post some ideas here.

Waiting for  the ½ ing  to start this is important. I want all bitmaintech gear as of right now since it makes for easy control and or setup.
and I want all slight under clock for first 30 days as it gives time to see if anyone has a dog.

If I was to collect coins for the order to bitmaintech 25 units and 25 psu's will be more then 75 coins so we may do 2 or 3 orders to limit risk of coin loss.
I have handled group buys with coin amounts over 35 coins
I have run group solo pools with 50 coins to be given to the winners.
I have split up a block 3 ways.
Like I said this  very much up in the air.

even it it ends up  like 4 people with 5 each it should be enough units.

i would post interest in one unit hosted

i am Canadian and believe truly that we will have to group up as a community if were gonna have a chance at competing with the Chinese.
Canada and specifically Quebec/Labrador have the cheapest public DC rates in NA (maybe the world) , and GWN is building one sweet looking DC. ;)

the time is now, this is a yummy idea for those who look long term in mining.
i am in for 1 for sure, depending on my funds when it all goes down hopefully more than one
but i just gave my friendly neighborhood mechanic 5k for some work and BTC paid for it heehee

i can chime in a bit on that ;)

Canada, specifically Quebec/Labrador has some of the cheapest rates in NA for power, as u can imagine this makes for optimal DC host situations for our miners. ;)

rates are 0.045 cents per KW/H USD! (0.06CDN)    better than anywhere i think you will find, well for PUBLIC hosting ;;p

Yeah but I need to figure out import fees.

If we bring in 30,000 in gear and import fees are 5,000 the power edge goes by by.

From what I can tell import and gst taxes may be 9-10 %

For bitcoin miner, there's no tariff on it. However, there is the GST 5% and PST 9.975% for Quebec. So there you go that's 14.975% on top of the value of imported goods. I live in Alberta so there's no PST here. However I don't know how we can work out a deal here. and I am not sure shipping from AB to Quebec would be less than that 9.975%. Just my 2 cents.

Thanks for info so maybe 4300 on 30000

Which may kill everything.

Hey sorry I got it wrong. There would be only the 5% GST and no PST. There's also a small $15 broker fee but i am not sure if it's per or altogether. So this deal still looks hopeful.

Okay  I need to a get an importer license.  Since it would be a larger amount of gear.

Once I started check all the rules.

A minimum of 3 countries:

USA ,Canada, China  plus  a few know your buyer rules.  This is more then my plate has room for.

I am going to close this in the morning.
