Title: WARNING: Elastic Project likely a scam. No code. 'Wallet' simply a copy of NXT
Post by: tupelo on June 28, 2016, 11:08:48 PM
It looks like Elastic Project (XEL) is a scam.
They are doing a crowdsale here:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1396233.0

I asked why their github is empty. Then they gave me a link to their 'wallet' which is obviously simply an old copy of the NXT client. As you can see they didn't even bother to delete all NXT files, changelog, etc..

I asked completely civilised about this strange lack of any substantial code but got called 'troll' etc...

Judge for yourself, I  made a copy of everything with the waybackmachine to be safe:

Thread where I revealed their lack of code: https://web.archive.org/web/20160628225608/https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1396233.msg15401681

Their 'wallet': https://web.archive.org/web/20160628223218/https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/elastic-reference-client

NXT changelog in their 'wallet': http://web.archive.org/web/20160628225140/https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/elastic-reference-client/tree/master/changelogs

Edit: The chief scammer of 'Project Elastic' just sent me this professional message:

Keep calm, folks, it's just another lie designed to discredit our project. Tupelo, keep in mind that false accusations of frauds or scams is criminal and will result in serious legal consequences for you.

That whole thing here is yet another untruth that everyone can debunk. Check out the code and try out yourself. After you execute the compile.sh and run.sh bash scripts, your code will be running at http://127.0.0.1:7876. Go to that url in your browser, and you should see something like this:

Where is the code, Lannister?

You display all the hallmarks of a scam. Threating me won't help you in any way, quite the contrary actually.

Project Elastic is a scam, be careful people.

Unless you want a shit load of legal trouble, don't challenge me. Judging by your quotation, you have already found out the correct location of the source code. Asking the same question over and over again won't change anything.

The issue in this case is that this 'project' does not exist.

So again Lannister. Where is the code of Project Elastic?

Is there something wrong with you? You have been told multiple times by multiple people that the code is located at https://github.com/OrdinaryDude/elastic-reference-client/. Why are you asking the same questions over and over again?
