Title: How about we start buying the coins that don't cry 'buy me'?
Post by: haendehochueberfall on July 01, 2016, 03:39:49 PM
Sell what cries 'buy' and buy what's humble.

Profit?  :)

That may sound like a good idea,  but most of these shitcoins shouldn't be bought regardless of whether they're being hyped or not.  But the ones that have fallen out of favor might be the next ones to spike.  You could do a paper experiment on this without using any money,  you know.

Doing it all the time, has been working. Just avoid dead/broken/scammy chains.

It's the principle of "buy stocks when nobody wants them" - works in crypto also.

Also all this greedy hype and buy-me shit is gone within days more often than not. These coins that are desperate to be bought are high risk to the downside, generally.

edit: better to insert disclaimer:
"don't try this at home"  :D  ;)

lol, buying at random won't work. You need coin with:
-hashrate
-community interest
-some good or mediocre history

Before i tried new release coins sometimes im lucky and sometimes are not but it takes to me low risk.. i am choosing cheap altcoin. .before now i learn that the best to choose to trade right now is the top 20 in the marketcap..

Like piggycoin or myriadcoin?
The smaller the cap the easier they go up.
Choosing in particular smallcaps is also fun.
(certainly not to recommend for everyone)

That's the whole idea and that is how cryptocurrencies should work in a first place. Building things slowly. But forget about this to happen in here, because of the greedy shills, who does not care about what can happen next, they only care what happens now.

EDIT: This is what most of the people wants:

People are like sheep, they follow the big money on big projects and hope to get a piece of the pie.
There is no magic involved they're just greedy.

This strategy creates lots of loosers. Following whales is very stupid, they aren't whales for no reason. They're masters in the game and a market is a zero sum game and the whale knows you follow him. You lost already. If you're not getting the same entry as the whale, don't trade in the market.

But yeah, sheep are for lunch. Not everyone can be a winner. Greed makes you poor in so many different ways. It's really amazing.

Litecoin.

Nah, Litecoin is too boring and Charlie Lee didn't gathered 100,000k BTC from a ICO. It also doesn't have fancy graphics, fast transactions and a nice shining logo. It also does not offer anonymity, which is BIG F* MINUS. But hey? You may have some point, becase LITECOIN FUCKING WORKS... AND IT WORKS FOR YEARS NOW.... ;D

nah, factom sucks because everyone says "factom, factom, factom"

Not buying that. I'll buy it when YOU have given up ... maybe ... later ... much later ... thinking about it, probably not buying it at all

@spartak i remember buying piggycoin early when nobody wanted it and it was fresh at market - it lacked the initial pump completely (anomality - but well it was 'piggy'). I still bought it - 5 satoshi (very few buyers in the market at that price)
Then came "piggyweek" - i sold for 220
lol, wouldn't have thought a coin named 'piggycoin' nobody wanted would be the winner of the quarter :p

mogreen is in our IRC channel 24/7 and he is a good guy. I am aware about piggy. They actually didn't disappeared and continue to work on the coin. Could you believe this s*it?! :)

Yeah, they're still traded and have a small fanbase now. The brand is cute. But currently has a little too much attention to get the very best entry. Should have bought last week when nobody cared about it.

who is 'we'?
edit: failcoin? does it have hash still? Alife and kicking? Wasn't that launched 2 years ago or longer?
edit2: i see, you relaunched/forked it - was abandoned before, eh?
edit 3: the same as this one? https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=505290.0
should maybe include the old ann in your new op for completion?
edit 4: reading 'about' - interesting. Good idea. I'd have to do a complete research though to know how much you'd roughly hold ;) but all in all it's a thing that's worthy to support to maintain chains longterm.
It would be better for everyone if we had more coins that keep swinging instead of flatlining and die the death of abandonement. Would make for much more accomodative and realxed crypto-environment also more inviting for noobs.

Don't like to sounds like an advertisement so do your own research if you wish. It wouldn't take you long. :)

EDIT: Yes, about 2.4 years old.

"Boring" ? LOL
I have heard that as an attack on coins for 3 years..
And it never fails to make me laugh my fucking ass off hard !  :D
You WILL here that said on Troll-Boxes regularly going back to the start of Crypto.
Saying that is exposing your stupidity and age.. snot nose brats with "opinions"  ::)

You SHOULD be buying the "boring" ones BEFORE they turn NOT-Boring *later* ;)

Think of it this way.
Do you bitch & whine and moan that the US Dollar is boring ?
What need transparent parts of the bill with bright colors ?
..then come to Canada that is how ours looks now LOL

But seriously guys i made my comment earlier already.. get it ?
I said how about we START buying "coins"
(as in currencies not block-chain based ICO schemes)
Get it ?

Boring LOL
Fuck that kills me hahhahahah
It's a mother fuckin' currency for christ sakes..
Does it work ? Then use the god damn thing.
What do you want more bells & whistles ?
Need some honking horns and flashing bright lights ?

I bet anyone that says that is a Windows 10 user who loves their *brought-back* Advertising embedded Start-Menu
And their trendy advertisement laden APP's Platform (Start-Screen), "Telemetry", Forced-Updates + ButT-Ugly-UI  :D

I have said this lots around here..

They are far more interested in "Jiggle Daddy's Keys" coin.

http://i65.tinypic.com/f1dt3q.jpg

*snipped*

You know how many times i have seen people bash a coin because it's boring ?

Take Litecoin for example.. it's great and it FUNCTIONS as intended (as a currency)
But it does not captivate the greedy babies.

They are far more interested in "Jiggle Daddy's Keys" coin.

.....

You are the one who makes me laugh, because you totally missed the irony here... missed it by a 200 million miles...

EDIT: And, hey... FAIL is also a currency, and it works for 2.4 years now. If I tip you for your misunderstanding with Litecoin, it would be boring, right? But if I'll do it with FAIL sounds kinda different, don't you agree? ;D You just found one of its uses. :D

I did in fact figure you were being sarcastic etc.. seriously.

I just wanted to use your comment as a spring-board for my rant on "Boring"
Seriously, i do not take you as one of those guys wandering around chanting Boring.
I can tell you are smarter than that  8)

Anyway..

Maybe people should read the Fraud warning ?
