Title: What is your worst Satoshi Dice Experience?
Post by: MagicBit15 on March 15, 2013, 03:40:21 PM
So I was playing my morning rounds of, satoshi dice, when this beauty popped up.

Got me to thinking about my worst experience, thought it would be cool to start a thread to share some stories.

As for me, I was playing one day a while back. I decided I was going to play down one of my wallets. I decided I was going to try and hit under 1000, I was playing and playing and playing 1 bitcoin a roll. Finally got to .02 BTC left in my wallet. I said screw it I need to get out of my house anyway. Put it up. And what do you know: 998. Nice to see it was possible, not happy because I had made about 30 tries ><

That's my story, anyone else care to share?

Accidentally bet 25 BTC instead of .25 BTC.  Lost, of course.  :-[

My worst SD experience is having to listen to all these whiners complain about spam and dust. Those terms are just opinions, and it does seem curious to me that these complaints have all started since people have found ways to short the SD stock.

When the service was first announced I made 1 bet and won.

Never played again so I can tell that I'm a winner on SD.

This is my worst experience.  ;D

I would make a large bet you were long on the stock  ;)

True  :)

But also the people complaining the most about spam and dust aren't seeing all the possibilities that the bitcoin technology allows. I see that sort of static thinking a lot in my precious metal circles as well, where people are just too used to the old ways of doing things that they can't conceive of new ways.

I started with 0.1 then worked my way up to 0.22 by betting 0.01 (the minimum) over 200 transactions. Then the last one I lost it all with 4 consecutive losses. I'm now back to 0.12 so technically, I haven't really lost anything.

But that's really my worst experience. I can only wonder how bad it would be when I get to whole bitcoins. I'll probably keep playing the minimum bet all the time until I get significantly higher total.

If you don't stop you will reach a null balance.

I went back up to 0.22 then lost most of again. Now down to 0.09 and going back up again. I think I'm going to shift strategy, when I lose once, I'll just bet it all and if it wins, start again with the minimum, but if it loses, then that's the end of my run. I would have lost all of 0.11 since I started.

My worst experience was playing lessthan 24000 using martingale betting.  I was doubling my bet each time I lost, so that when I eventually won I'd see a nice profit.

I started low, at 0.122 BTC, because that's so far off the max bet that I'm bound to win before I reach it, right?

And lost 0.122, 0.244, 0.488, 0.976, 1.952, 3.904, 7.808, 15.616, 31.232...

I don't consider myself a gambler, had probably never bet more than $5 on anything ever, yet here I was about to be 62.464 BTC on a dice roll.  This was back in September when Bitcoins were 'only' $12 each, but still I had already lost $750 and was about to bet another $750 to try to win it back.

I was on a scary kind of gambling auto-pilot by now.  No time to stop and think about what I was doing.

So I bet the 62 BTC and won 166 BTC, leaving a nice profit of 42 BTC or similar.  But it scared me badly enough that I don't want to play any more.

I guess for a real gambler this wouldn't be a "worst experience" story.  Which tells me I'm not cut out to be a gambler.

Well. In a final bid to try to gain back what I lost, I bet almost everything in my wallet (which is only 0.076 at this point) on 73% (less than 48000). And I promptly got back 0.0003, which means, I lost it all. I checked the transaction id, and my lucky number was greater than 65000, so I would have lost ANY game if that game used the same transaction id (I understand it would be different because any change in any of the parameters would result in a different transaction id, so it's not the same.)

hehehehe..

My wallet now has 0.00117xxx.

In case someone sends me any amount of coins as donation, I will promptly bet it on less than 32000. If I win, I'll send you back your coin, and keep playing with the other half until I run out or make at least double, then stop. (for the day, hehe.)

Here is my very first bitcoin address: 16SMoka6om9p2MF1L9jjfzFRvSvpJtzRm7 where I got my first coins from the faucet.

Cuz right now, I can't even play since all I have is below the minimum bet. With 0.1 I was able to play for about two weeks. My transaction count is almost 400.
