Post by: camelson on July 03, 2016, 01:58:01 PM
As the title said, looking for you people reviews on the blockchain beta version, it look nice to me and still got no issue with it. The security id also very tight with few new options.

What you people think about the new version?

Yes the newer version is much more intuitive and better with respect to the legacy version.
Although there is one drawback with the recent changes in their wallet creation. That makes you unable to extract passphrase of an address in the normal format. Otherwise everything is okay according to me.

Yes its better, back in 2014 I lose a lot of bitcoins with the old wallet blockchain.info and started using electrum since then without a problem.
However decided to give this new wallet a try and it impressed me in the sense that its security is top-notch with email verify, 2FA, and even mobile sms code (not recommended because some problems have aroused to many people using this option). Also it is HD meaning it has a seed and as long as you have the seed you can restore it from any PC you would like to use it.

This is good as far as an online wallet goes and seems one of the best, but keep in mind that you are relying on third party to hold your bitcoins which is not recommended at all.

2fa and email verification and second wallet password have existed since legacy. I don't remember if dynamic fee and tor block exist in legacy (I always manually set the fee) but if not then that's a good improvement. All the additional options under advanced security settings are also good.

Deterministic wallet would be much better if they actually allows users to easily export private keys of new addresses. Multiple users have reported not getting any bitcoins added to their balance even though they have deposited some to an address listed under their wallet. Being able to export private keys without having to mess with the api should make things easier.

Still can't sign message with new addresses. That sucks.

For the design, personally I like the old design much better. The new one looks like it's made for mobile.
