Title: Website that monitors a random bitcoinaddress and sends out an email...
Post by: SebastianJu on July 03, 2016, 08:43:08 PM
Hi everyone,

there once was a website called bitcoinmonitor.net. You could add a random bitcoin address and define certain things on when the website should do an action. Like sending out an email after an incoming transaction that received 2 confirmations or so.

Now this site does not exist anymore, only a parking page is hosted on there. But I would like to use such service so that I could get an email on my smartphone once I receive bitcoins on a certain address.

Is there such a service anymore without me having to open a wallet on there?

Thanks!
Sebastian

I've seen http://bitnotify.com before, never used it myself.

I'm actually re-writing a script to do this for me for my own use, it's a good feature to have .

Thanks, blockchain is no solution because I do not want another wallet but bitnotify seems to provide the essential info I search. I will test it out. Thanks! :)

If bitnotify does not work, you can try https://www.blockonomics.co
This site has email notifications and also push notifications to browser.

I dont know if there are any sites like that but there is one in the Philippines. It is coins.ph it emails you everytime you receive a bitcoin or everytime you successfully send a bitcoin. If a sender is using the same wallet the email of the sender will also appear on your transaction list. It is one of the best wallet I have encountered so far but is not present in other countries.

Thanks for the new tips since unfortunately it looks like bitnotify did not notify me last time a deposit came into an address I put in there. So I will check out the alternatives... :)

It's also a wallet only, right? Like I said, I only want an easy service that informs me of at least some coins coming in on an address.

That's a wallet too... like I wrote I do not want another wallet. I never would store my coins online anymore anyway...

I was calm. :D Sorry if it came through differently.

Well, I think I will stop the search for now since I don't have time to check the wallets out further. blockchain gave me already a bad experience in the past so I would like to avoid it.

I wonder if bitcoinmonitor failed to get tips or something to pay server costs.

Thanks everyone for the tips. :)

Just write a script that queries your address API and emails if it changes

5 minute job and you can make it do whatever you want

I'm not sure what API you mean but it sounds like you speak of an online wallet or exchange. And the script would need to run somewhere too... on a webserver or so that allows sending emails.

Sounds even way more work than using an online wallet watch address.
