As i am new to the mining scene can some1 please explain a little about this so called thing Application Specific Integrated Circuit. They're built to do one thing, and they do it fast and well. The term ASIC has nothing to do with your ability to buy it. But in a sense, yes, you're right -- you have to buy them ready made unless you want to throw down a few million to produce an ASIC chip that does what you want it to do.
