Title: what can I expect from my laptop
Post by: patnor1011 on March 17, 2013, 10:29:52 PM
Radeon HD 6490M and Intel core i3-2330M 2.2Gh x 4
The reason asking is that I use Guiminer but my speed rarely goes over 1.5Mhash/sec.
I need some advice on how to squeeze bit more from this laptop I have on 12 hours a day in work. :)

not worth the extreme and prolonged stress it will cause. also, a terribly inefficient waste of electricity.

Your hardware was never good for mining, don't worry  :)

And no, you aren't late. Bitcoin is still in its early early phase. Just, mining isn't a get rich quick scheme.

Would anyone say a computer capable of bitcoin mining would also make a great gaming PC?

Ok I will leave my laptop for light tasks like adult chat sites and such  ;D

Just ordered PC (well kids will use it for fun&games sometimes too) with two ATi7950 what speed can I expect from this? What will be better for me to try pool mining for BTC or LTC.

Even if your laptop is usually on for that amount of time, the extra energy used to mine any bitcoins will not be worth it at all. Unless you can get cheap, dedicated hardware, it's probably easier and cheaper to just not mine altogether.
