Title: MtGox Yubikey
Post by: 7kansb on March 18, 2013, 08:17:31 AM
Got a promo-code for a free Yubikey from MtGox. Won't be using it, and since MtGox stated it's okay to give the code away, I'll do so: I'll give the code away for free unless more than one user wants it, in case it'll be an auction.

Mail from MtGox below.

=======================================

Dear [WITHHELD],

Thank you for using MtGox.

We appreciate your presence and would like today to give you
a free Yubikey. Considering recent problems with hacked accounts,
hacked computers and more, we see the Yubikey as a good step
toward better security.

You can read more on the Yubikey from the Yubico website:
http://www.yubico.com/ - note that the yubikey we offer is only
usable on MtGox.

To receive your free yubikey, you just need to login on http://mtgox.com/
click "Security Center" in the menu.  Then, click "Add New" under the Yubikey menu.
Choose if you want either a yubikey with our logo or not, and on the next page
enter the following code:

[WITHHELD]

(note: this code will expire in 1 month.)

Important: Please click on "Add Coupon" underneath otherwise your order will be charged. WE WILL NOT REIMBURSE ANY FUNDS IF THE ORDER HAS BEEN PLACED INCORRECTLY.
Once done, you can fill your address, and confirm your order on the following page.
Please remember that the code can be used only once (after confirming your address,
the code will not be usable
anymore).

Please be advised that if your country's custom charges any duty or tax upon the arrival of your Yubikey, we will not be able to refund that.

You can also give this code to someone else and let them get a
free Yubikey.

Enjoy your trading!

From all the MtGox team

OK. Countdown 24 hrs. If nobody else's interested by that time you'll get it, otherwise auction's on.

Edit your post and add your bid.  Then the auction is on...

I got that same email on the 14th.  My yubikey arrived just now.

I have sent you the 0.2BTC and now there are more than 50 conformations.
When do you send me the YubiKey promo-code?

Scammer?

Scammer?

You should have requested him to send the code first. Being that you are both Jr. Members, you both likely had no reason to trust each other. I'm sorry that you lost some coins, but accept this as a learning experience. Next time, be sure to use escrow or request trade history info from whoever you plan to transact with.

Extremely sorry for the 2-day delay, had a full weekend. The code is now in your PM inbox.

Let me know if it works, otherwise you'll get your BTC back. Please post in this thread when you can confirm the code works.

Good advice. I would have accepted any such measures if CryptCard had requested it.
