Nothing to see here folks, price is not going up stop dreaming

I was looking for comments about the drop in hashpower, we'll see in a couple of hours, if blocktime drops by half (or worse!), that means some of the big miners turned off they rigs, and we are fucked until the next diff adjustment.  :(

It will take time..... the Previous halving did'nt rise its value instantly....  Just be optimistic enough to handle your hopes and never give up.... Surely it will rise it may need some time.

Everybody being pumped like their coin value will suddenly double. When this didn't happen people start selling causing panic.

I think we will see sub 600 for a bit before going back up again.

Well now we can look forward to either a shakeout or stagnation or maybe a slow climb. I dont know why so many people where expecting some sort of major price pump as soon as the halving occurs. Weve got until the next one to gain more traction. Price has already risen to good levels but what comes next will be interesting.

lets think on the positive side we users started discussing about halving when price was around 360$ and now we are around 650$ so locially price already got doubled before halving so its kind of fun think because i already got my pennys grown

I am more happy to see this happening live now second halving has been completed. The real party will start as time will pass sooner. This is enjoyable moment as at first halving I was not involved in Bitcoin but now I have witnessed this. I am so excited to see future's development after this long awaited moment of halving.

in the first 4 years('09-'12).. the scarcity was not a big deal.. even though those 4 years people knew that there would only be 50% left after.

the following 4 years('12-'16) scarcity became a topic. because 75% of all bitcoins have now been mined.

but these next 4 years('16-'20) scarcity will become a bigger topic because 87.5% of all coins would be mined by 2020..

do not expect any significant changes today. because miners cannot even spend block 420,000 until tomorrow (research: block reward maturity)
secondly miners wont be paying their bills daily so dont expect them to cash out instantly.

its a slow process and will on a long term bases cause a deflationary price rise. so chill out and stop waiting for an instant price spike in a few hours

I will tale advantage of this to buy bitcoins when the price is low and wait for the price to go up

Yup, it feels like nothing really happend; i just got back from a party and it feels like a normal day. Now that the halving has happend though, lets see how how things progress from then on. I don't expect the mining rate to decrease very dramatically and i actually thing the value of the Bitcoin will slowly rise just like what happend 4 years ago.

Miners aren't going to stop mining.  Don't believe that for a minute.  Small ones might but big ones won't.

I think the scarcity situation will eventually tell on price but what I am particularly impressed by is the fact that such a major event as halving happened without a single glitch. Absolutely incredible.

Hahha.. So you are one of the person who believes  that when halving happened its price will suddenly go up just because halving happened. Actually, it really depends, the price and value of bitcoins lies in different things. There are lot of factors that are being considered before the value of the bitcoin is determined. It is not a sudden changes, that in just an hour or a day its value will suddenly be doubled or in worst case, will be devalued to
  1btc=1 dollars from 650 dollar=1 btc.

Will be doing the same thing, am planning to buy worth 300$ of Btc this week since the price went down...... And keep our fingers crossed till the price goes up.........

Of course the price is not going to go up immediately, it's only been a few hours since the halving. No one is crazy enough to pour huge amounts of money into Bitcoin right now. I think it will take at least a few months before we see any real movement, investors need to be certain that miners are able to cope with the reduced rewards first.

As Coindesk pointed out today, the Halvening already brought a 50% increase over the past 3-4 months, in anticipation of the event.

When the reality of how expensive it is to mine hits home, the price will increase again.

The expected increase has happened last month and it will never occur during halving. But its not a bad thing since price increase has never been brought by halving but it is caused by the on going pricing pertaining to buy and sell, ask and buy in the market. There will be more increase that will soon be experienced by bitcoin users so its best not to lose hope.

Lol halving not means the price will go high it's only expectations of us. The value of bitcoin it depends on the supply and demand.
May be other don't add the supply their hold theres no worried the price still at high price we just wait what were happen in this year for bitcoin.

I not sure about that, it's crazy for bitcoin to getting a hard level of decrease. last just checked on my local exchange site and the price it's always stable not happened any transformation for that. but the effect from halving is not instantly be perceived by a lot of bitcoin users.

I believe that the previous halving actually resulted in a crash in the price of BTC not long after the halving and the price actually peaked prior to the halving.

It was no secret that supply of new Bitcoin was about to decline after ~today, and the market was able to price that in ahead of time accordingly. I suspect that a decent amount of the recent run up in price was due to people anticipating the future decline in additional supply, and some of these buyers may wish to sell now that the halving has happened.

Hahahaha but I never believe the price of bitcoin will getting down in this time, just be patient to feel the long term effect of halving. The BTC price is stable for now just nothing making a random expectation about bitcoin without seeing the market.

Okay nothing happened, price did not go up, did not go down, did not even fluctuate a lot.
But the price will go up slowly in the next few months, we think.
Each day we are adding less coins, inflation pressure to the price.

Tick me off whenever I see someone expect the price to raise right after the halving. What the fuck do you think this is, a game? You can't expect something to always go up, fools, get realistic for one fucking minute.

I am one of those who believes but yeah lol it doesnt matter to me at all as long as price wont go down far from its current price yet i still keep on earning tiny amounts of bitcoin spend li'l amount of it and hold the rest

I personally believe the price will go up but it will take time and it will be slowly, but slow is better.

I think that in order to properly estimate the expected price after Halving should look at the schedule difficulty and hash rate. If the miners begin to massively roll up, the price will be able to stay at less than double the price in April-May, that is, less than $ 800 dollars. Otherwise, ie if the miners would have enough patience (and stocks) not to sell Bitcoins cheaper and continue to main unabated, a new stable level will be somewhere between $ 800 and $ 1,000

What a headline, are people really expected price to explode in once second after halving. And when people wake up today to see price over 2000 $ ?
You are senior member and you still don't understand things around. I could expect from some newbie to talk like that, and not some higher ranked member. Big things doesn't happen over night, how many times someone need to explain to you.
I don't even understand what people wish from bitcoin, to cost more then 1500 $? And when we get there, people will wish to cost 3000 $..never truly satisfied.

Sit down, think again, and again, and have patience. What you people wish is fairy tale, or some sci-fi movie. Do things like you always do, don't you wait for price to go to the moon.

we need to give some time , any thing will not impact immediate on bitcoin ,bitcoin is not like share market , we have seen in the past also, but steadily it will rise ,only we require patience ,wait and watch policy :)

Well it not like everybody expecting, but because of the halving event the price become slightly better, this is just the day one, its just a beginning we will how this is going after 1 month,  i hope there will be another increasing in price

OMG Halving Happend AND => LOL, all price increase specualion failed.  It's like a normal bitcoin day except that the reward is way lesser than before.  Miners will feel it in the next payday.  So it seems that all things about halving is just another hype for another investors to come in :D  before the halving.  Reflects on the price and now it's done what will happen next?

Seems like I have not missed much since yesterday was my day off.

Welll the effect of block halving is not instantly reflect and it takes more time before we will see it wait for the first block to be mined and..
We already know that the price is always depends in demand and supply so better to wait for more investors will come these following weeks or months if bitcoin will be in demand expect for fast price movement.. we have low reward right now and im sure its easy that the price of bitcoin will increase fast..

That is indeed very disappointing for people like me who was holding their coins for possible increase in prices.But nothing to worry I can still make profit if I sell at current rate

Miners make money by generating more income than they spend on electricity and the associated costs of running a network of machines that are always churning away. Maximizing profit in bitcoin mining is all about how much hardware someone can throw at trying to solve the next block.

The more hashing power, the more likely a miner is going to succeed on a regular basis.

Even the price didn't reach expected heights the BTC network speed should drop speed after halving and ensure a bit higher payouts to miners. At least for some time :D
Those who have Older mining gear will plug out it very soon bcs the price of the consumed of electricity will be higher then the income.

That is the biggest misinterpretation many bitcoiners has or have. They believe that halving can make or the basis of bitcoins price inflation. Hope they will make more some research on the demand and supply and how it affects the price of bitcoin. But bitcoiners should not stop dreaming since price inflation can happen anytime without halving.

Not really, the rise won't happen in a minute, a day, a week or a month. It takes time, but the increase will be huge. That is not 100% sure, but imo the harder it's going to be to mine BTC, the higher the price will be.

still in the end we are going to keep bitcoin because this what all people says but for me i have to look for every opportunity on spending my bitcoin wise which i can earn more profit in return

Well if you have your plan that you think you can increase the amount of your bitcoin or earn more if you spend your bitcoin its a good idea.. we are the same thoughts here if how we can manage our bitcoin and there is not bad to spend our bitcoins right if you think that you will earn more if you spend it..
But for me i will some of my bitcoin and other i will use it some in tradings.

It is yet easy to see results of halving. That does not mean that for sure the price will go high but there is need for few time after that the effects of halving affect the price of bitcoin. If within 1-2 month the price will not go higher then we can tell that halving has not affected the price.

For me the price of Bitcoin can also go down, is not that important to him, it is important that more people know Bitcoin, now it is estimated more or less that the Bitcoin holders do not reach the number of one million worldwide , need to be patient, as there are 100 million ( or more ) people who will have in hand the Bitcoin, the price will be adjusted to demand and supply, and then there will be no need to halving, the price will rise, and could theoretically be as high as figures today there seem impossible, just as an example, I have known the Bitcoin when their value was $ 0.062, if I had told anyone that after seven years the value would be $ 600 would have taken me for a madman, now I might say, between seven years the value of a bitcoin will be $ 600,000, I'll be a raving lunatic ... bye guys. ;)

So its real then that the price hike last few weeks was the effect of halving. there;s jsut too many people expecting for the price to go up for easy profit and thats it. 
I wonder if the miners get to stick around that they find the 640+ price worth mining.

I'm really wondering if any of the mining operations will be shutting down soon.  I know that the hash rate hasn't really changed at all, but I imagine that many operations would run even if they are running negative in hopes that the price of bitcoin will go up and they can recover their loses.  They could only do that for so long though before they would have to shut down.

Don't worry, the hashpower still increased when price was around $300, so no reason to believe it will fall now, with half reward but double price.

If price drops below 400 and don't rise again in some months, then we might see a drop in the hashpower and miners shutting down, but won't be overnight, and won't be without many warnings

the miners are getting 640 * 12.5 = $8000 for each block they mine.

so do you really think that cost of mining one block is $8000 for them to leave?

thats how much they are earning sure? because if that is real everyone would really be into mining. but okay.

OMG Halving Happend AND..... Fuckall happened..  ::) The miners did not stop mining and the price did not go through the roof. We should just accept the fact that the fireworks will only go off, when

each individual linked to this community, do their part to increase adoption... This will help with two thing : The price will go up do to demand and the transactions will increase, which will in turn then

increase the miners fees and this will keep the miners mining.  ;)

Price of bitcoin will going down if we looked last halving block of bitcoin, but it is just my prediction using analysis tecnical although there are weakness of analysis tecnical it is worth for prediction of price.

That would never happen though. While the rest of us are trying to make bitcoin get into the lives of some regular people so they will adopt using btc, the rest of us are trying to drag its value down just to acquire more to hold. the price had reach $650+. isn't this an achievement?

With the price of BTC as of now, I think the miners are going to still mine Bitcoin.

The price never go down still and so i guess most users who bought during the price goes below $670 are going to hold still. They may have to wait or accept loss :)

Actually not much people on this forum predicted that the price will double the same day halving happens. Most people were predicting doubling of the price by Summer 2016 back in November 2015. Well the price was around $320 then and now it's $647 so they were right as you can see.

Bitcoin stuck at 600 price and struggling to climb up.
cant make good decision by now,cause  bitcoin  has 50/50  chance getting up or down.

So halving still have effect to the Bitcoin price.  It somehow make investors exciting to the point that they even invite new investor to hop in  Bitcoin .  So as the earlier comment stated 250 to 600+ is a sure rise in price for BTC before halving.  Maybe some just expect unrealistic increase in price.  Now that it doesnt happen they are disappointed :D Better get real folks!

halving have arrived and did not happen anything. bitcoin price movement was not visible. I do not feel postive. all the same . I think halving this time will not affect the price of bitcoin. I was very disappointed because it has been spending a lot of money before.

Maybe next halving will be more exciting.
It's going to be interesting to see who will be still into bitcoins that day.

Well, it's only been a few hours since the halving so there isn't actually much to expect at all. I'd say may be we should wait for around a few days, weeks even, to see the effects of the halving to the value of bitcoin because if the value of bitcoin wouldn't move, then miners would only get less profit from mining.

Expect the unexpected.

Thought network speed would drop but a day after halving passed and nothing so far  :P

You're wrong. The price did go up and far higher then we could have been expecting. 450/500 was the price to be, not only did we pass that, we even went to 600+

halving happened and nothing happened, yes but nothing good or bad happened and i find this stable 640 ish dollar price reassuring. because it is a sign that demand has not changed yet and with the supply decreasing now it should rise after a while.

It is quite an achievement to get $650 i agree; and yea i didnt really expect much to happen to the value after the halving but we can expect that the price will continue to increase within the next few weeks; $800 is next mark.

i doubt that the price is ever going to be 250 dollars, in my opinion the price is not going to go down because the halving happened and people will surely going to buy bitcoins

Yeah , i never see the price dump to $250 , since many people keep arguing about halving will make the price rocketing.
So everyone buy the bitcoin and hold it , but after halving (let's guess what..?) , no one happened still stable and not having any significant movement. But if anyone buy the bulk of bitcoin , let's see the price next.

Actually a lot of persons, including believed that the price would skyrocket after the halving but nothing is happening so far and more than 2 days have passed. I am afraid I will have to agree with many users that the rise of the price of bitcoin would be very much gradual and that today price is still a nice possibility to buy bitcoin or earn it, let it sit in our wallets for quite sometime and after that I am sure we all will see some benefits. I really thought that bitcoin price after the halving would have been around 800 USD but it did not happened unfortunately.

Many people also speculated that the price will crash after the halving event due to the disappointment and sell out by the ones who were hoping for a run.

Me too,  but I am still worried because it could easily be a lag. The market adjusted for the halving way before it took place, and the price can correct itself at any point after. It could be this week, or next month, but I cant believe people thought everything would happen on block 420000 being mined.

I think the main positive we can take from this is that bitcoin prices are still above the $600 mark and has stayed there steadily for some time now. I'd rather see slow and steady price increases over sporadic highs and lows.

Price is stable and i think it's not a problem, many people happy that they have $650 now. Maybe something will change this week or next week.

Halving happens but nothing happened especial just the halving, no increase of price just in the range of $640 to $660 but not bad, actually its good enough to have like that price, just hold your coins and expect of increase but if you sell well opposite will happen.

I don't think the price will rise just after the halving event, we need some time may be some weeks or even months to see the results. I believe the price will increase , just we have to be a little bit patients.

Price is far from stable, but yes we did not see a big dump (like some were saying) and no the price did not get to 200k (like some other idiots were saying).
My guess is we will keep seeing the price a little bit volatile.

Only massive idiots expected the price to instantly go up. The halving impact will be felt over the following months, it's not an instant thing. Also, price has going up for months since we started from 200 dollars all the way up to 700+, now we will start climbing again towards 700+, give it some time.

I think when bitcoin reach $ 750 last week , many people invest more bitcoin because halving event and when halving happen, there are no change on bitcoin value because IMO there are no new potential buyer. But soon bitcoin may reach unexpected value on the future

yes i do agree with you even no increase for the prices but at least the prices not going down and actually this is my first experience for facing block halving even though the prices seems stuck but the current situations is more better because we not see big dump after halving dates

Price went up in the months before the halving. It won't go up alot more, unless something happens in the world. But for now it will probably sit at current price and go up slowly overtime

It will take some time for people to adjust to the new normal.
Then we could see a move, either upward or downward.  :)
