Russia out of Athletism might change things.

Russia probably will have less golds and maybe China can dispute with US for most golds

I am also waiting for this Olympiad , it will has a different nature , because the organizer country is Brazil , the home of football . I will try to find a time to watch other sports , but football is the most important for me , however , betting on the football matches in this competition is different , because the players are from different age stage .

Brazil never won the golden metal in olympic games, they won't win this time. The fact they are with a new coach and are in bad shape in the classification for WC and got eliminated in the group stage of the Copa America won't help too

I love betting the olympics and I know 5dimes had many options over the years. I even bet water polo and random events in past games. Hopefully
nitrogen and other bitcoin books have lots of olympic options this year.

For Olympics, I would bet on soccer, tennis and basketball. These are the 3 games that I am familiar with. Of course, there are other games but I won't bet on sports that I am not familiar with.

You could do some arbitrage in the gold medals. Either USA will win(more likely) or China will win(not likely, but great odds)

You could put 1 BTC in USA, if they win, you get 0.2 BTC as profit.
If you put 0.2 BTC on China, you would get around 0.9 BTC, not enough to cover your losses.

Better just bet on US win the goldies, I doubt they will this time

I also don't think they can't win the gold medal. My money is on Argentina to win the gold medal. I'll be placing a small bet on them to win even though they have a tough group stage.

I was looking at the Olympic odds at direct bet and another site and they think the USA will win 43 gold medals. That seems
pretty dang high. I want to bet against it but it would suck to not root for my country.

What about China? I think China also have the capability to earn more golds. So let's try once the odds also looks great. Invest small bet if you are lucky you will make a big profit. I also think China has a big chance at getting the most gold medals at this years Olympics and for me they offer better value then the USA. A lot of China's gold medals will come from Driving, Badminton and Table Tennis. USA will most likely dominate in swimming and running and of course I think they will win the Basketball gold medals men and women. I think it will be closer then what the current odds are so I'll be placing a small bet on China to win the most gold medals.   

These Olympic games are a little strange because it will miss many athletes, or for doping (many Russian athletes ),  or for fear of viruses Zika.  I'm disappointed because the Olympics should be the ultimate expression of the sport and it would be nice to see more and larger samples of each sport

With football olympics games starting i have i prediction over Argentina vs Portugal such first match at a major tournament is always scan as Argentina is favorite to win the game as they have many young talents in their team but Portugal wouldnt make it easy so i think we will see both teams to score

I think a good bet is Brazil Gold Medals Over 8.5, Brazil seems to have come determined to break records this Olympiad. The Soccer Team not only male as female are strong favorites for the title, not to speak on VolleyBall in which Brazil have great athletes.

For the comung football game for Germany vs Korea i think that That Germany was facing a difficult duel was a given. Mexicans showed that they have not come this edition to do it alone but they will get nack up and won over Korea and with about 1.6 odd is good to make a bet on it

Okay and I think it's best to stick with the sports you know something about. I got all 3 of my bets in the swimming and I also put on a small parley with Australia to win the womens 4x100 relay, Chase Kalisz to finish ahead of his fellow American which he did and I put Mack Horton to win the 400m mens freestlye which he did just. The odds for the parley was $3.85 and I put $50 on it and won $192.5. The single bet odds were odds on favorites to win the best being USA to finish top 3 in the womens 4x100 relay @ $1.20 which I thought was way over the odds. I'll be betting more on the swimming on day 2.

For today's football games will go for wins on Mexico Portugal Germany and Argentina

Germany have to win today match after the draw against Mexico, I think Germany can beat South Korea to make secure it's position into this mega event, so that I have my bet on Germany @1.67 because I feel this will be great option to make profit.

It's the last day of the swimming. Can Michael Phelps win another gold medal in the Men's 4x100m medley relay? The Men's 100m sprint is on later today and will Usain Bolt make the final and win his 3rd consecutive gold medal in this event? I've been waiting a long time for this event and now it's finally here. First he needs to get through semi final 2 which I'm sure he will. Justin Gatlin will be in semi final 3 which is Bolt's main challenger to winning the gold medal. It was a pretty good day today watching the track and field events but for me I'm looking forward to tomorrow as it's the 200m Men's sprint and we will see Usain Bolt in action again.

I am the same as swimming is my favorite to watch and I also like to watch the basketball but only when the USA and my country Australia are playing. I would like to see him win to create more history which will take a very long time to be beaten.

i believe that bolt would try to break his 200 M world record,during the 100 M he never really tried to run to his potential nor was thinking about any record and even eased his way at the end to reach the finishing line at 9.81 Sec,remember he ran 9.86 sec in the semi finals while shutting down 15 M before the finishing line,but these things might change during the 200 M and if rain would not spoil the party like today,Bolt will try to break the world record. I am sure he will end his reign with a bang since he mentioned that this would be his last olympics, expecting to see wonders from BOLT every time i see him on the track :) 

Women Singles Badminton: Indias most trusted player Saina Nehwal was not qualified for the play offs. This is very sad to Indian fans. But another young player P V Sindhu qualified for playoffs. She is playing against china player in the quarterfinal match. I am not sure that she will enter semis or not. But I wish her to win this game.

Possibly, but in my opinion, I wouldn't bet on the semi-finals, as they might not try as hard to get first, and get just enough to qualify so that they don't overexhert themselves.

Incredible from this man , Usain Bolt. This man are born to be run fast as a lightning  :D First to won triple-triple gold , what a legendary! Probably we won't be seeing such legend sprinter in next 20 years or 30 years to come.
Bolt insists he won't be playing in next 2020 olympic game, maybe he know he can't run as fast as he could now , so he want to retire as a legend , smart choice!

He sure is and to be honest I don't believe we will see anyone like him again for 50+ years or maybe never again. Maybe he is thinking that but he easily beat the young ones coming up now but I think it's better he goes out on a high. I really hope he does go on for the Commonwealth Games in 2018 because I would like to see him live in person as the games are in my country Gold Coast Australia. He said next year will be his last but hopefully he goes on for one more year after that and to be honest he would have much competition maybe only the Canadian kid Andre De Grasse and no USA. So he could maybe decide to go on, we shall see.

Yeah, it was the first time Brazil can beat Germany. I don't think that Brazil can do a very enjoyable game, I think Brazil will be one of the things that is very good in the matches to come.

It was a close match and it was decided in a shoot out after over time.
So if Brazil did not have Nemar then they would not have won. He did score both goals that sealed their victory after all!

As i expected this match continue to extra time and pinalty, both teams are great and Germany is unlucky on this pinalty shoot, congrats for Brazil who get gold medal.

As predicted had a good day, but disappointed with Men 1500 M Gold prospect Asbel Kiprop, what i noticed in this Olympics is that ,the time they run in the heats is much better than the times they produce in the finals, normally it would be vice versa . Bolt who was jogging in 100 and 200 Meters heats had almost the same time when he was sprinting seriously .and there were many athletes with these sort of timings as if they are running the heats in a different track and the finals in another track  ???
 
I can understand why there were no track records broken after the 400 M and the 10000 M easily, the rain that came afterwards made it impossible for the later events to see something spectacular .

And this Olympic games was not bad for hosts Brazil -7 gold medals and total 19 medals.

I am sorry, but after watching some of that game, I would have to put my two cents in here and say that, Brazil did not deserve to beet Germany this game.  They played strong, but they seemed like they were not all there and that Germany was not playing at the top of their game.  Again, this is just my opinion; however, at this point in the game, they should play hard or go home and it did not seem like they were playing hard, it seemed more like Germany was just under their game!  A win is a win, so good game Brazil.
