It's a conspiracy to gather information for spies

I tried to play it anyway, but I don't pay for phone service, so it only works when I am in range of wifi... so basically it doesn't work... the pokemon never come to my house :(

I did find a cell phone service advertising 500MB for free, but it only works for Sprint/CDMA phone, and mine is GSM

It's this dumb pokemon game that overlays pokemon onto your phone while you walk around in the real world, so if you need to find locations or pokemon you have to walk around outside and people have ended up getting robbed and so on because of this feature, apparently thieves have even figured out how to make the app take people to secluded areas to get them.

It is only getting hype now from the media because someone found a dead body while playing it from trying to find a water monster from what I heard.
Also people are luring while catching the monsters so they can rob them.

People get robbed doing everything - taking their dog for a walk, getting their newspaper, mowing their lawn.  You can't blame Pokemon Go for it.

Also, you can't blame Pokemon Go for the location of the portals - each one was submitted by a person playing the game Ingress.

Installed Pokémon go on mine iPhone with United States account.Because in the Netherlands the app isn't yet released. Was really impressed to see the way it worked and that you need to go outside your house to play this game. The 2 kids from mine wife are going crazy when they find a Pokémon. Definitely funny for now but don't know if I still will like it about 2 months.

100% recommend it if you played Pokemon as a kid.  It's great fun, and soon they'll be adding more features like player on player battles with the original turn-based combat.

Having played this game's predecessor for three years, I'll tell you it's not the data you need to worry about (and its more than 10MB/hour, it depends on how active you are), it is your battery life.  The high color screens, the GPS and the wifi all on at once really drains the battery.

I use a Mophie case.  Not only does it protect my phone, it has a built in battery equal to about 1.5x my phone's battery.

i would boycott this kind of game unless there is no pay to win thing which deprives people who are poor to pay the credit.
you know, pokemon go uses a lot of memory as well. :(

What this game is is proof of concept of AR-based advert networks, businesses are scrambling to buy pokemon lures to direct foot traffic to brick and mortar shops, to the tune of ~$2m a day.  The company that actually built the game(niantic, not nintendo) used to be owned by google, aka big data divers.  They and nintendo own a large stake in them now, which is likely why GO initially had full access to google accounts on launch.

Anyway its brill.

what are minimal requiremnts to play this game, what device and operational system I need?

I downloaded the apk the other day since its not available on my country either.  It does work though,  the monuments and gyms and things are in proper places but the game is absolutly gash,  i don't know how anyone can play this.  Maybe once they add friend battles it might be better but for now its just taking up space on my phone.

I meant to say,  the ar sucks too. It has no idea how far away it should put the pokemon,  it just sticks out anywhere in your screen.

The graphics are so bad. Polygon is very 1990's as in Virtual racer or that Boxing game I played on the Amiga  :D
How can this eat up so much data. It is not streaming HD graphics ::)

I am looking forward to future updates such as trading, battling, and next-gen pokemon. I also am interested in seeing how they allow trainers to catch legendaries! Currently the legendaries are Mew, Mewtwo, Ditto, Zapdos, Moltres, and Articuno.

Try to play together with friends, it's a lot of fun. The four of us went on sort of a safari and walked 31 kilometers.
