Title: Online Wallet for Gambling
Post by: Great_Caesar on July 14, 2016, 03:57:03 PM
Hi, I am new to Bitcoins and don't have a wallet yet.

After reading a while here it seems that blockchain is the best wallet.

Is it also the best for gambling?

Blockchain.info is not the best wallet. The best wallets are desktop wallets, such as Bitcoin Core, Armory, or Electrum. These wallets are much more secure than an online wallet; your Bitcoin is actually under your control and not at the mercy of an online service.

Is it also the best for gambling?
There is no wallet that is "best for gambling". They all work in the same way, there is nothing special about a wallet for gambling.

yes blockchain.info most famous wallet. you can do to anything including gambling.

and if I'm not mistaken Coinbase is a wallet that can not be used for gambling, because they will ban users who transaction with gambling.

I think moneypot.com is what you are looking for ...  a gambling wallet which supports multiple casinos and gambling webs/apps.

To store your BTC I recommend Mycelium or Electrum both are good wallets ... and use moneypot to store only what you can afford to loose.

You can use blockchain.info also but better to use electrum because it provide complete anonymity as they don't store your personal details and your bitcoin address and private key never leaves your computer (according to them and many users).

I think you will need to deposit bitcoins to the wallet that the gambling website uses so I don't think you will have much choice. If you want to just buy some bitcoins or acquire bitcoins (through faucets, etc.), it doesn't matter what wallet you use.

Use Xapo wallet. They are an online wallet that uses their services for gaming themselves. So I don't see them being offended if you use their wallet for gambling. They even partnered with a gaming site and offered scratch ticket style game to see how much you won once you signed up for their service.
Plus having not miner's fees included on their transactions makes it very attractive alternative to most other wallets out there even coinbase which don't charge miner's fees but as someone pointed out also do not allow use of your account for gambling purposes.

Coinbase is the best online wallet to start with. But coinbase forbids gambling in its TOS. In my experience I'm using block.io and coinomi as my gambling wallets.

if by blockchain you mean blockchain.info then yes it is a good wallet (not the best) it is a web wallet so be sure to stay as safe as possible with a strong password and enabling 2FA.

and as for gambling it doesn't make any difference, there are some that are bad like coinbase because it bans you but there is no good for gambling wallet!

personally mate much better to have your own wallet from your pc or device so whatever happen you can control the flow unlike placing it into online wallet maintenance/delayed/possible locked because of restriction those things is needed to consider unlike if its inside your computer or device you are keeping it and have all controlled you just needed to protect it from hackers and attackers it will also protect your device.

I think you can use any wallet for gambling purposes no need best wallet. Blockchain.info is a provider of best-selling wallet, but I do not think there is a nice wallet 100% respectively has its own shortcomings. :)

i don't agree with "any wallet" coz there are some exchanges that don't allow gambling transactions like coinbase.

you seriously need to read coinbase Terms of Services because apparently you don't know anything about the wallet you are using.
coinbase blocks the accounts of anybody who uses their wallet for gambling purposes because according to US laws (where coinbase is located in) gambling is illegal.

Question(s):
How can coinbase say that a wallet is used for gambling? if the transactions made by that wallet go to online casinos?
But how would it be possible to say that a transaction goes to a casino?

Because coinbase can analyze the address that the cubic was sent to or the account received button from. Many casinos have known addresses, and addresses can be linked together wth transactions and this provide outsiders to guess with certainty that those addresses belong to the same person. This cover can see if you are sending to our receiving from s casino and block your account if you are

One that gives you control of your private keys

That means no circle no coinbase no xapo.

And if you buy from places like coinbase and send to your oen wallet and then gamble they might follow that and shut you down.

If you need a coinbase account or similar then it would be best to mix your coins with a mixer or exchange before gambling.

Gambling doesn't have some specific wallet to be used. Each use based upon their convenience. Most use Blockchain wallet in gambling because it has got the fastest transaction possibility to place bets.

Gambling is especially made to use bitcoins but before using bitcoins from any of wallet you must have to mix them as no one can trace the origin and destination.
Mixing is good option for using bitcoins.
Along with wallet must be independent as you have own control over it. I'll prefer desktop or hardware wallet best for staking or storing your coins.

Some online wallets are complained from banning their accounts fro being involved in gambling. So i think thats the reason for asking thing question. Im using Xapo wallet right now but i dont know if i get ban if i transacted on gambling. So far, blockchain wallet is their recommended. But is it safe to involve in any gambling transactions?

You can use some online wallets to deposit/withdraw coins from/to gambling services with not problem, they don't care.
For example I used to fuel my bankroll with blockchain.info and I have never had any problems so far (but that doesn't mean they won't change their attitude towards gambling in the future!)

But other wallets: Xapo or Coinbase have long history of blocking user's accounts because they detected gambling activity.

The best advice is to NOT use online wallets for gambling. Use desktop wallets instead.

AFAIK coinbase and xapo don't allow gambling. So what I would recommend is either a moneypot wallet if you're a MP gambler, or simply blockchain.info.

If you just go ahead and make sure you have 2FA enabled on the Blockchain.info wallet you should be fine and secure with your BTC.

Personally, I like to use Blockchain.info and BitGo.

binary trading on secondstrade actually requires hard drive wallet such as electrum.
if you want the safety of your coins, store your coins on hard drive wallet. online wallet won't be safe yet you can use them to which you can access anywhere. thats the advantage.

Its blockchain.info ,no you have wrong information. Its not even closest to the best wallet.Bitcoin Core is the safest wallet followed by electrum I believe. For gambling, blockchain.info could be a good choice if the volume is not very high.I can image how painful i'd be to open your client everytime you have to send across a few satoshi's.

You should read the rules that apply to the use of their service but yes it is quite confusing why Coinbase and xapo prohibit users of their services to gamble. i've one wallet in coinbase and they banned my account because i use for deposit in gambling site.

I thought xapo had officially partnered with a gambling site in some capacity. and they're nowhere near the us which is the main factor. but even if they are cool with it now, they might not be in the future.
