I think for starting a simple faucet from faucetbox you do not need any knowledge of web designing and development, only you have to learn about installing faucetbox script from their website (the tutorial for installing faucetbox script is easily available on youtube) and if you want to give a new look and design to your faucet then you will have to hire a designer for that.

But please, don't hang your hopes too high.
The faucet business is in a crysis right now. Bots are eating up the funds of the owners more quickly than they can refill them.
Advertising systems do not pay or accept no faucsets. Users stay away due to small rewards.
I would like to remind you not to invest more in your faucet project than you can afford to lose.
Way too many faucets got bankrupt these days.

Basical faucetbox faucet script is very poor protected from bots. It means that bots easily can steal all faucet ballance in very short time.

Never had problems with stealing balance from faucetbox account.

Faucets are very risky for owners.
From all I have read nearly everybody suffers from bot attacks.

Start mining ,save money ,purchase a good script ,customize it with a programmer/friend help, increase security against hackers (Purchase a domain on a hosting good network) or load everytime small amounts of bitcoin, create a triple anti-bot check which activates daily randomly,  and pray for an income from ads networks such as adalso.
Can't say it's a 100% success, i didn't tried.

Yes only with faucetbox if we want to have faucet site without spend any money so the money we can use for buy domain and yes if we not protect it with anti-bot would be easy for them attacked your faucet site.

I used Google captcha on my faucet, but it didn't protected from bots, they stolen all my ballance in few hours.

You can buy faucet script on the internet. however, i think you shold learn some simple code to redesign the script to make it better :)

If you want to take the shortcut, then you can opt for FaucetBox or Paytoshi script, but if you are serious about starting a faucet then opt for any one of the above scripts.

I don't know what is a bot and how to use but i don't believe a program can cheat google captcha because even me as human sometimes i get frustrated and rejected even if i choose correct images on google captcha.
So all the people who complain about program stealers they should instead think that a faucet name if it's good can propagate advertised and maybe hundreds of people were using it . Most of people are unemployees ,like me, 42 years old, and i open like 7 tabs in Chrome with different faucets and i keep claiming all day long every 10 minutes or 15 depends on the faucet game.
Also you should think that hackers can steal money from a faucet . They need to copy all the keys.

i don't know why Faucets are always under risk of attack. You may loose all your funds without understanding how or the way to get them back. I have a friend who lost more than 50 000 000 satoshi and didn't even understand how this could happen.
You need to be more prudent if wanna try this.

   All captcha services can't do any protected from bots with sql injection for example.
