Well, pick one and vote. And discuss.

I think there's a SMF rule allowing minimum number of posts before a newbie can post a new topic. That might work.

The 50 post limit will be reduced. Probably the "newbies" section will be removed once the moderation tools have been improved.

I know I'm relatively new here but I'll volunteer to be a mod if you'll have me.  I think you'll find I'm quite active on the forums, and I know I'm well cut out for the job.

 :)

I think the protocol for >50 posts should be changed to account >15 days old.

Additionally, I'd be interested in offering up a suitable domain for use (mod can pm me) if it should be moved.

Put a sticky thread about the Bitcoin Q&A (Stack Exchange) (http://area51.stackexchange.com/proposals/30763/bitcoin-crypto-currency), and embrace it as official. Stack Exchange sites moderate themselves.

Go there and commit if you haven't already!

And pm a moderator if you want a sticky thread about Bitcoin Stack Exchange.

Bitcoin dev xf2_org mentioned to me today "This forum has been filled with garbage lately, and not even the bitcoin devs necessarily frequent it often."

The >15 day old rule is great. Also, outright banning of accounts wouldn't go astray, nor would flagging. There are some people coming (I think) that want to see bitcoin totally fail.
