Title: We need more windows Apps, People! Post by: gigabytecoin on June 12, 2011, 07:54:08 AM Just an outsider's view here...
Lots of linux/apple/ios/android apps... But the fact of the matter is... 80%+ of the world still uses the internet through a windows platform. Title: Re: We need more windows Apps, People! Post by: jostmey on June 13, 2011, 03:03:32 AM True... though unfortunate.
Title: Re: We need more windows Apps, People! Post by: Basiley on June 13, 2011, 03:10:03 AM "80%" of "consumers" use Windows.
but for "developers" situation dramatically opposite. for plenty of reasons and gap become more deeper and deeper each year. Title: Re: We need more windows Apps, People! Post by: jostmey on June 13, 2011, 04:25:42 AM Develop for windows and get 80% of the total users...
Maybe that is reason enough. But I agree with the previous post. There are good reasons why developers stay away from the borg... I mean windows. Title: Re: We need more windows Apps, People! Telling people to develop for a platform is useless without specifying it is what you are looking for. Title: Re: We need more windows Apps, People! Post by: Basiley on June 13, 2011, 09:34:08 PM while you can easily find guy able/wanting/alreadydone things "just for fun" on L-UX/BSD, even for talking about, Windows developers ask money.
let alone comparing results of their "work" in each cases. also more useful/powerful/functional development tools is evailable for Free[in both meanings, usually] in areas from [various]scientific purpose to very utilitarian. point is if "We" really needs something, like "more xxxx", he haves it, otherwise its untrue. Develop for windows and get 80% of the total users... talking about "total users" is depend context/meaning of "users"word: majority of them, in generic computing terms, use Symbian/Android-based devices.Maybe that is reason enough. But I agree with the previous post. There are good reasons why developers stay away from the borg... I mean windows. for example. |
