Title: Are bitcoin ATMs worth using?
Post by: esprit985 on July 26, 2016, 05:18:36 AM
Some friends and I are considering using a bitcoin ATM to do some online shopping. Would it be worth using a bitcoin ATM rather than just an internet exchange site?

What are some advantages and disadvantages to both? Any tips or anything I should know ahead of time before using an ATM?

Thanks in advance!

It's better to use exchange websites, because according to your requirement as well profit margin you can find the right exchange over the internet. When it comes to bitcoin ATM its really hard to find over all region, as well each card have been provided with limited access based on the issuers.

Checking about your region or the environment, Does there is bitcoin atm in your environment, but I no recommendation to using bitcoin ATM for now, because it's too rarely to find that. the first thing you can do that, check about the available bitcoin atm in your environment.

...

Bitcoin ATMs have two "features" lately that I do not much like:

1)  They insist on ID.  The first "BTM" I ever used (in NYC years ago) at that time did not...  I spent ALL the cash in my wallet to buy BTC...

2)  They have gotten VERY EXPENSIVE in my city: 14% !!  Forget it.

Since buying from Circle was no worse (from KYC/AML standpoint), I just switched to them because they are cheap.

I have bought via localbitcoins (cash at a Starbucks), that works well if you actually can meetup.

ATM is not there everywhere , if you want use ATM it should be accessible easily where you do shopping, i believe online shopping is teh best option compared to ATM ,  because online shopping more advantages than ATM  :)

if you have the internet which everyone does then id say you would be better off just useing coinbase or local bitcoins to buy your bitcoin only due to the high fees that ive heard these atms charge. If i could find an atm myself id probably buy a little bitcoins from them just for the novelty factor but it wouldnt be my main way to get bitcoins. The machines dont seem to be that common anyway though so it not an avenue i can take myself.

i think the advantages is you don't have to keep your money on your wallet but you just have keep your bitcoin in your bitcoin ATM card. and for the disadvantages is not all country will be available for this bitcoin ATM only a few that i know and this is only small part in over all country. but if in your country is much bitcoin ATM available, then you can try to use bitcoin ATM card and you can tell us how its feel. i'd prefer to keep ATM card rather than keep my money on my wallet because the risk to get stolen is always watching us.

From what I've seen so far it'd be more reliable to purchase your BitCoins via an ATM as opposed to trying to cut a deal online with someone you probably have never met.

At least if its from an ATM and anything goes wrong you have the shop owner to talk to who can give you the ATM owner's number and you can go from there.  I can't say I've heard of any problems with BitCoin ATM's - have a try with a small amount (or their minimum if they have one) and then work out how quickly the transaction is sent via the block chain etc.

I'll be keen to hear how you go.

I would avoid the ATMs. The fees are incredibly high.. There are online services that offer the same ease of use, but at lower fees (e.g. bitonic in the Netherlands). You pay a bit higher fees then on exchanges, but you don't have to wire fiat, wait for it to arrive and then put an order. You just buy and get your coins instant.

Another thing that would have me worried is shady people hanging around the ATM and potentially stealing your new bitcoins or following you home knowing you are into bitcoin and hoping to score a bigger stash at your house.

Yea agree on most of the statement above, ATM fees might be high and on trading platform, we have variety of platform which offer different rates of withdrawal or deposit, it depends

I would rather buy Bitcoins in the currency exchange section or any local currency exchange site than travel all the way to place with Bitcoin ATM and whats worse is after travelling hours on the road, spending some money for gasoline, you'll find out that Bitcoin ATM is offline.

I have used an ATM a while ago and the fee was at 10% which is not the greatest, it is extremely quick and easy though, well the one I used was, I was in and out of the shop within minutes which surprised me as I thought it would be a lengthy process.

Circle, Coinbase, Localbitcoins or bitylicious would probably be better options, but if you do have an ATM in your area it would be worth just getting a small bit just to have done it :)

I would not use a bitcoin atm if you can help it. There are two in my city. The one I have seen/tried to use is owned by a private individual. I know because when I called the service number on the screen it was a guy who said he owned it. Anyway, it wasn't functioning correctly and I was glad I wasn't able to use it because there was an extra 10% fee on top of a crappy exchange rate (I don't remember what it was exactly since it was over a year ago). The guy offered to drive over and do a transaction in person, but I declined, saying I didn't have time to wait around.

When you have an ATM right around your corner it is a nice to have.Especially when you have no bank account or your bank is making trouble when you transfer some of your funds to an Bitcoin exchange.
But the fees these machines have are very often not less than 8-12%.That's theft is you ask me!!
Using an online exchange instead will be much cheaper.Just make sure your bank will not put you into trouble by freezing the transaction or closing your account for a while.

i think in present time it may not be so much usable as most of the people have no idea about bitcoin . but in future it will be so much important and will have so much value when all the people will be using bitcoin then they will fee the need of ATM for withdrawal of bitcoin from their accounts.

You forget that we are moving away from physical cash. Bitcoin is fully digital, why does everybody want to return to physical access to their coins again? With bitcoin you don't need an atm anymore! You load your phone with coins and you scan the QR code in the shop.

Bitcoin ATMs are good for getting the word about bitcoin out in the world, but as far as i'm concerned, that's their only real use especially considering the insane fees.

The have charge very high fees and are generally not worth it. They also need you to give them a bunch of information like finger print and ID.

Try buying Bitcoins at a place like Btc-e where they don't need any government documents nor do they report you to the government.

It's a good place to start if you need bitcoins. It's instant and you do not need to sign up meaning that it is more anonymous than a bitcoin exchange or using something like localbitcoins where you have to upload your ID before you get bitcoins.

No, it's not worth at all because those reason :
1. They charge you huge fees for buy/sell bitcoin
2. They could track you because bitcoin address that you use for send/receive bitcoin and they usually have CCTV too.
3. Sometimes, they ask you to input personal information or ID to use their ATM.
4. I heard that bitcoin price at ATM isn't realtime (not sure it's true or not)

ONLY use bitcoin ATM if you really need to buy/sell bitcoin as fast as you can.

I have been to two. One in vegas area and it had ridiculous fees and definitely not worth it with things like bitpay now out. Maybe like
2 years ago so you can get money even with bad fees. The second one was south of san francisco and it had a pretty big spread in fees
also and required a ton of info (ID etc) and took like 45 minutes so i didnt bother

Well depending on what you are using it for, if you want to change cash and coin discreetly and do not want your name anywhere, it is a lot better then sending fiat from your bank to bitcoin exchange websites. You can just withdraw your cash and buy coins.
Tough if it is your method of acquiring bitcoin it is still the most discreet and private possibility but most have higher fees then regular bitcoin exchange websites.

If you don't mind paying for an insane amount of fee and you are in a hurry to obtain cash, then bitcoin ATM is for you. Personally I would prefer exchanges on the internet rather than a bitcoin ATM just to save a couple of dollars. Though bitcoin ATMs do not ask for any verification, your main concern would probably be the fees incurred during the transaction.

I dont even wanna reach near those, as instead of those help those atm are eating your coins, i didnt know they charge soo high fees. Atm of bitcoin should only be if you are wanting to cashout a huge ammount and those is something the most traders cant do for you.

No, not for online shopping, it just makes no sense. The only way I see a BTC ATM could be useful would be at an airport. You've just landed, and you want to exchange some crypto for local cash. But the fee must be moderate of course.

Why use Bitcoin ATM if you are going to buy some items online and probably or most of the time items will be bought online, so why go to an ATM? Just go online and buy Bitcoins online, traveling and looking for an ATM will just add up to the cost of the item you want to purchase.

Exchanging bitcoin in exchanger will be profitable as there will be lots of fee in using bitcoin ATM like fixed withdraw fee + foreign currency exchange fee if your local currency is different than USD, EUR etc.

I think it is a pretty good step, however I see that there are only few bitcoin ATM places and it is very rarely found online or offline store that accept ATM using bitcoin payments. Better don't use ATM Bitcoin first before all the people know and use the bitcoin!! . Because I see ATM Bitcoin is now much worse than the already existing Bank ATM, they provide services that are far different from the true purpose of the bitcoin

We can see that Bitcoin ATM is convenient to use but only for those who have these near from their area better to still use an exchange online because like what the other people said ATM has a fixed withdrawal fee and it is not good for us not like on exchange that the withdrawal fee depends on the amount of your withdrawal . Here in my country we have a cardless withdrawal with some ATM of some other banks .

I personally would ignore a Bitcoin ATM and not worry about using it because the fees are WAY too high for the service it provides, where I am they have a 15% fee on what I remember was all exchanges/sales, while an exchange here is maybe 5% at most (for those who rip you off) and more like 0.5-1% on average. I'd say you might as well use anything else.

There's really nothing I'd need to buy with bitcoin that would take an atm to get.  It's a novel concept, but those fees are absolutely ridiculous.   But then again,  think about it:  Normal, non geek types would buy bitcoin in exactly this way.  We might not because we're bitcointalk savvy and aren't afraid to use these sketchy exchanges.   Mom and pop might not, and they're familiar with atms.  So not a bad thing, but I wouldn't use one.

It`s not worth it man.Bitcoin ATMs are extremely rare and i don`t think there are any merchants who accept

bitcoin as paper money.Bitcoin is invented as a virtual currency and should be used as a virtual currency.

It`s more convenient.

That's a little bit weird actually, because online shopping is on the internet and you already have the internet currency for shopping. Then why do you even have to change it into fiat?
If you want to online shop to a site that already accept Bitcoin as the payment, then you don't have to use the ATM. And however, nowadays most of the online shopping sites already accept payment through credit card or even PayPal. And you can actually buy some Card balance or PayPal credit with Bitcoin, so you don't actually have to exchange your Bitcoin into fiat.
But if you just want to do it just for trying a new experience, then it's up to you.

Yeah, indeed the negative impact of the use of the ATM of your Bitcoin impact like that. It is indeed contrary to the purpose of the bitcoin ATM users, because it is bitcoin ID card will be required for logging and also cost pertransaksi or storage that will be charged to the owner of the ATM Bitcoin. Better to use the ATM instead of using bitcoin wallet bitcoin

Honestly, I haven't seen an actual bitcoin ATM and the most I've seen are over the net. From where I come from, I don't think this is really worth it because not a lot of people know anything about bitcoin, much less a bitcoin ATM. We have mobile phones that are easier and more accessible to use.

High fees that is true, but about many scams in machine i never heard about that, maybe just a criminal putting another component to recording the users data. but like using bitcoin debit card the fees is so high and i ever to trying using that and this is time i never using it again.

As well as here, to my knowledge there is no atm bitcoin in this country. Because bitcoin users here can still be said to be not much, and if there atm bitcoin I think very few people use it. But besides that, even if I needed money suddenly live contact exchanger which I believe and redeem my bitcoin became fiat. That way I can take the money in the ATM fiat, and I think this is fast. for me it's better to use exchange website why because the advantage of using exchange website is where you can sell your bitcoin and then your gonna deposit it in your bank because here in philippines where we use coins.ph , and coins.ph is partner with some banks where we can use that for our withdrawal security bank is one of the best for atm and also here in philippines we have already bitcoin atm machine it called atm panda where you can withdraw your bitcoin into real cash  ;D

ATMs sound like something of a lottery. You never know what you're going to be charged, how much ID they want or whether they're actually there any more. If there was a good one near me I'd make use of it but some of the premiums you here about would make me squeal.

Do you live somewhere where you have an over the counter type of thing? In the UK there've been a few attempts to offer Bitcoin via the same places you can pay your electricity bills or pick up mobile phone credit. They did all seem to fade away though.

A couple of things...

What country are you in? It's a useful detail

In the UK, ATM operation is far more relaxed and an easier business to run than in somewhere such as the USA.
As an ATM operator we find that many of our customers love using them for ease, simplicity and anonymity.

Also, a number of our customers are not as tech savvy as say the forum users here that decry using one. Remember, not everyone is as competent as you (*looks around the forum.....)

Some people see/hear of BTC and rather than "risk" (in the their eyes) the wild west frontier of Exchanges (which get a bad rap due to things like Gox and Finex) they see ATM's as a Safe option in their world.

So, yes, ATM's definitely have their place in the world of BTC and they're growing in number for a reason, people WANT to use them, simple.

Fee's can be high with some yes so it pay's to shop around, but then convenience comes at a cost in most markets and in this Bitcoin ATM's are no different.

Hope that helps.

Viz

Many of the naysayers here and the ANON Limites are very COUNTRY specific. Be aware. Jurisdiction IS important in this discussion.

UK is very relaxed, other places not so much.

Our ATM's (and those of our competitor) do VERY well thanks proving that ATM's ARE a greta idea when done right AND they're in the right place. And out users love them.

It`s not worth it man.Bitcoin ATMs are extremely rare and i don`t think there are any merchants who accept

bitcoin as paper money.Bitcoin is invented as a virtual currency and should be used as a virtual currency.

It`s more convenient.
That's right, it's not worthed for using bitcoin atm at this time but if you mean a bitcoin debit card it's soo bad because they charge the users with a high fee. but consider again for using bitcoin atm like from this site.

The answer is simple "NO". It is because of the high withdrawal fees. Instead of paying so much fees, it is better to withdraw all your money through an exchanger in one go and use it for shopping.

Also I think bitcoin ATM is not a financially viable business. The installation and maintenance of an ATM is huge and to recover the expense, the ATM owner will have to take it from the users. So it is always better to use exchanger service to withdraw bitcoin.

Contacted a BTM before going to use it to make sure I could just create a paper wallet and not be forced to use my cell phone. I finally get to the location and may I say it was in a super sketchy spot with cops rolling down the block every 30 seconds. Anyways...Step to the dang machine and the very first prompt after English or French was "Please type in your cell number"!
What good is support if they are going to lie to me about their services?

Ended up having to tack a 45 minute trip on to the trip to visit another companies machine.

The high fees are certainly because of the low number of people using it, I think the fees will be lower over time.

Obtaining Bitcoins from Bitcoin ATM can be much less time consuming than using an online exchange. Bitcoin exchanges usually require AML/KYC verification and after that, the wire/bank transfer can take a day or two. Depending on your jurisdiction, some ATM operators can choose to not turn on the verification and the users can protect their privacy even more.

Bitcoin exchanges are arguably, cheaper and convenient. If you want to exchange fiat to Bitcoin frequently or in large amounts, online exchanges usually provide their user with a much lower fees and a higher liquidity.

In my opinion for today is not, because there are not many people who know it and there are not many people use use it as payment method then there are not many stores who accept bitcoin.

Exchange websites are better and have reasonable prices but Bitcoin ATMs are too exchange and seriously I don't get why the prices are so high while withdrawing the money in a local currency. There are costs for activating costs as well for the debit cards and then a list of other fees charged. It's seriously not worth.

Because that is through a lot of processes and that is can make the fees is become very high, I ever trying using bitcoin debit card maybe i can say is not having a much difference with using bitcoin atm and that is very not worthed in their fees.

Here we dont really have that kind of ATM. But we can withdraw it to an ATM from a bank. Good thing the wallet exchange website is connected to every bank and they can easily transfer your money to the bank you want.

For me exchanges are the best way to get bitcoin. ATMs can be handy for people who live abroad and need bitcoin, but with your bank account bitcoin at an exchange is more convenient.

Absolutely. They are safe and a great way to get fast cash from your bitcoin wallet. Mnay people are hesitant to try them but I assure you, they are very secure. I’ve used one myself in my hometown and it worked perfectly.

Buy and selling bitcoins at those atms is still very expensive: it's true that it is a quick and fast service but fees are too damn high at the moment. I know people who own them need to gain something from it but unless you are in a hurry I would use them

That's exactly the reason why we wouldn't want to be using BTMs right now. The fees are too damn high.
We know that it's not too popular yet but that doesn't mean that they should have so much fees just to cover for their own expenses (well, that should be a given but still), this gives us the reason to not use them.

I believe there is one where i live, i need to travel something like 3-4 hours to reach it, but i wont use as i can sell or buy bitcoins with a person who is trusted and knowing those atm are charging such fees i wouldnt use them. When i saw the first new about them i thinked it would come with a cheap service, soo all could use them, but until bitcoin achieves mainstream is a sure the big fees will keep.

Yes, the BTC ATMs have very high fees.  But, it's take it or leave it.

We are visiting Seattle now, I just used one at the Westlake Mall (downtown, at the end of the monorail), it works.  The machine requires an ID (Driver's License) scan.

There was a guy in front of me who was using it when I got there.

ATMs may come in handy but you must expect it to be more expensive.
Because it will be surely made by a private company they won't make something where they cannot have something in return.

An exchange would be much better... If you are willing to shop online then you should probably not pay the ATM fees but just use an exchange and do your work where you will save quite a good amount in terms of fees..

There was a Bitcoin ATM down the street where I used to live, they used to charge $1,000+ per BTC when the average price was between $490-500

Of course they will charge more. Not worth it unless you want the anonymity.

wow, thias makes Bitcoin ATM so Unworth using the fee is too high enough .i would rather change my bitcoin in a online exchange .whta's the purpose then if that kind of fee is on the ATM, it is worth if they change it to about even 5% fee on every transaction made.

Bitcoin ATMS are hard to find in many places. However, there are normally Bitcoin ATMs in major cities like London, Paris, Sydney … etc. Sometimes, the ATMs give very good rates. However, I believe that many online exchanges do give better rates. Moreover, Bitcoin ATMs usually have options for straight cash or money transferred to you bank account. However, online exchanges only offer money into your bank account.

I would advise using a Bitcoin ATM for exchanging smaller amounts of BTC and online exchanges for larger sums.

:)

I think the reason this particular ATM was charging so much was because they never bothered to update the prices. That has got to be the reason.

Although I agree, they do cost an awful lot. Even outside of Bitcoin, ATMs are generally known for ripping people off.

I wouldn't say they are "useless" though, I saw many people using the ATM, to my surprise.

It is unfortunate to have the bitcoin ATM making some fee. That is not what bitcoin is about. That is people wanting monopoly. 14% ?? That is too high not even worth it. Just sell online rather to bank transfer it will be better on the returns.

Bitcoin atm is currently a big mistake as bitcoiners do like bitcoin because low fees, and some others features it has. The atm should be implemented when all people do know and use it, not now.

Actually this is not much needrd. It is just the wallet exchange that needs to be linked in a bank and you got like an ATM where they just need to give you a one time account with the price of how much you want to withdraw. Just simply go to the atm machine and input the said account and how much.

Yea agree on most of the statement above, ATM fees might be high and on trading platform, we have variety of platform which offer different rates of withdrawal or deposit, it depends

True, there are some other exchange platform  who charge expensively, some are they charge 0.0002 Satoshi, and other's are 0.0005 Satoshi. Now its up on the individuals where they gonna place their bitcoins in the exchange platform.

ATM's provide a little more privacy (phone no: vs more elaborate KYC processes at exchanges), but also usually charge a heftier premium than the best exchanges (up to 7%). That said, ATM's spot you the coin instantly.

Also, keep in mind that the whole goal of Bitcoin is to be decentralized. It's not decentralized if you give some corporation the power to horde your Bitcoin and then charge insane rates to purchase some. If people stop using them altogether, maybe they will be pressured to reduce their prices.

That actually could be the problem with atms: Nobody uses them.
If more people would get their coins from atms, they would most likely have lower rates.
To all those here who have used an atm already, what was the lowest fee you had to pay?

I have to agree with you. For now just use your exchange of choice and think ahead of time. Bitcoin ATM’s are not everywhere and more importantly the fees are high since not many people use them. But like fiat ATMs, these bitcoin ATMs will serve you in peculiar situations like in a mid-night emergency.

Bitcoin ATMs' advantage right now is that you can withdraw at any given time, even if you don't have any access to internet connection. However, the price for that is you have to pay tremendous fees. If you're okay with that, then it's all fine. Generally, however, it's not preferable to use bitcoin atms because of the high fees.

Bitcoin ATMs is surely a great deal if you are to get your funds instantly, but remember, to get better services, you need to pay something higher too.
Costs are much high compared to converting your coins and getting them handy. So, I would recommend you to convert your coins into fiat instead of paying such high fee to vendors, let them cool down.

Thanks in advance!

Yes! it is worth using at this moment, Its has a big advantage too specially if you want to give money to your family or loveones, you don't need to go outside to visit remittances office, You can send them money just proceed in the merchant who accepted bitcoin like here in my country. Also in billings you can them through merchant by using bitcoin as payment to your bills. And about the disadvantages I think the net connection only, if you don't have nice network into it you cannot use bitcoin without it.

At the present time now majority of the country is not accepting bitcoin yet, some country bitcoin is already accepted which means the masses adopted it and using it in different advertisement businesses which is bitcoin is accepted already. well It will be a difficult to your case to find a place where you can use it so well, especially if it is not yet spreadout the information about  the benefits of bitcoins into your place.

Atm bitcoin is suitable if a region has many bitcoin users and many stores that use bitcoin payments. If in the area I may not be suitable because it is very difficult to find a place to use bitcoin payments. I myself do not know the shape of the atm bitcoin as to what, if in my area there and many are using it possible I will also use it.
Even in regions where Bitcoin is quite prominent and where there are a number of physical locations that accept Bitcoin, I probably still wouldn't want to use a Bitcoin ATM because of the massive fees that are charged by a huge number of the physical ATMs. I went to go see one of them a little ways away from where I live, and I think it was charging something like 15% on sales or whatever. Insane fees for a relatively simple service.

in present time as bitcoin is not yet so much introduced in the people and its users are also not so therefore i think itis not too much worth to use bitcoin ATM.

no , it is still worth to use bitcoin ATM because it is more convenient to withdraw some money from your bitcoin and you don't need to covert it dollar or what local currency you have from exchange or go to any remittance outlet and done some fill up forms and wait until your name is called . here in my country although we have a cardless withdrawal from ATMs' but most of the time it is under maintenance so i think it is much better to use an actual bitcoin ATM .

Perhaps some country most likely adopting the system of it and bitcoin is already accepted it too. That's why they can do shopping online.
When it comes to advantage it is very secure and convenient to use, while the disadvantage for me is, if the net connection is poor we cannot use the benefits of bitcoin it will be useless. That's what I saw into it. :)

I would rather buy Bitcoins in the currency exchange section or any local currency exchange site than travel all the way to place with Bitcoin ATM and whats worse is after travelling hours on the road, spending some money for gasoline, you'll find out that Bitcoin ATM is offline.

I think you have a point with that things, That's the reality happening now. I'm just imagining what if the petroleum/gasoline companies are accepting bitcoin I think it will be a good chance to each everyone of us, isn't?

I experienced this problem once. Lost of internet connection and I really need money. Can't withdraw my bitcoin through an ATM due to connection problems. It got me like an hour before I finished the transaction. plus the waiting time for the confirmation and email.

I agree, there are many inconvenience had been reported. But, the most important part with it is better to get them ahead of time of an exchange to save yourself from any possible hassles. Bitcoin ATMs have pretty reasonable fees that too for on-hand exchanges.

It's really ironic we end up with all these high fees, when one of the most prominent selling points of Bitcoin was that there are no taxes associated with it.

Not really worth. As there is no possibility of using bitcoin offline in our country so having atm is of no use. And all i buy with bitcoin is online and only for digital goods. As very less website accept btc.

I believe that using Bitcoin ATM is more convenient for people who have it near from the place where they live, but the problem is that there is still a low number of ATMs out there, and most of these people will not find it in a place where it is worth to move. In that case, still will be better to use the conventional process, using the online exchanges.

bitcoin ATMs vs exchange sites? Compare the prices. Go for where you save more on conversions. Lucky you have bitcoin ATMs in your country by the way. In my country people barely know what bitcoins are.

Like here in my place there are no bitcoin ATM near in my area but i do not think bitcoin AMT is worth it because i know there will be having big charge when you directly withdraw bitcoin in exchange to fiat. I think it is good if there is paper money (bitcoin) at this moment.

For me it is okay if we have bitcoin ATM to do some online shopping, deposit easily money to bitcoin, and lastly withdraw my bitcoin and use it in some emergency situations. In exchanger site i think it is worth too but you need to wait more time to withdraw your bitcoin and deposit some money in bitcoin.

I think they are great at promoting bitcoin, if people start seeing bitcoin atm's everywhere it will be great for the brand.  Although i do think that they are abit pricey but sometimes if you are only buying a small amout then its fine, and its good to support those who accept bitcoin.

I worried that people will think that bitcoin is some short of bank or anything related into it if the bitcoin ATM were placed near to local's bank ATM
some people will try to search in the internet what is bitcoin but the rest is not, they will just let their opinion,if there's some short explanation in the ATM that'd be great to entertain people

The advantage of using bitcoin ATMs is that you can buy bitcoin without contacting anyone, without worrying that you will get scammed by someone. Using ATMs sometimes is cheaper because you just go there and purchase but sometimes the fees are high (don't know exactly how much are, maybe is different in countries).

The fee is very high, maybe 5%-10%, it is no way to use it, just my opinion. I prefer buy and sell btc on the exchanges.

We never have it here in our country but that would be awesome.  I think using it is a convenient way of reloading or buying a bitcoin for online shopping.  I hope that there are freebies or special thing if you use atm bitcoins.  Maybe there would be an extra points or satoshi everytime you use it.

If there is one next to you it might be worth using regularly "The fees aren't that good but it's easier than PayPal trades", I did it once probably just for the fun of it and to get my "private key",it is easy to anyone familiar with bitcoins and it's terms but a little difficult for newbies.

I can't think of a reason why would a Bitcoin ATM not be worth using. I haven't seen one in my area because I live in the province but I'd really like to try bitcoin ATM someday. There's a service in our Bitcoin wallet (coins.ph) that allows us to do cardless withdrawal but it's only for a certain bank. That way, an ATM will turn into something like a Bitcoin ATM. You can withdraw you Bitcoin from an ATM machine. Apparently, though, that certain bank isn't available in my area.

of course worth, you can pull out the money from your bitcoin wallet without having to do an exchange like you usually do to sell bitcoin into fiat money.
It is worth to use , but is atm bitcoins are safe? the question here is , is the bitcoin atm's safe to use ? because if the atm's that can be skimped then probably bitcoin atm's too where it can get your information then someone are going to still your bitcoin usually i am more using exchange website.

I feel bitcoin ATMs are worth and safer but fees seem to be the thing that is killing the Bitcoin ATM concepts. In future, it will be easier to charge lower amounts of fees due to the higher amount of transactions will be processed. I think then people will change their opinion and more people will be using them.

I think they are worth using if they located in an area around you, The rate isn't that competitive IMO and I wouldn't go around for one, it's relatively cheaper than Coinbase or the like but it's still the hassle of going to a far place for a non-competitive rate is too much.

i think that in those areas where the users of bitcoin are too much and where people have the facilities to use bitcoin in their markets for buying and selling there the ATM machines will be worth but in those areas where the users of bitcoin are not so much there bitcoin ATM is useless.

I would have to say that an exchange site would be the best bet at this time.  There are not to many bitcoin ATMs at this time around where I am in the USA, so it would be hard for me to use it here, but I do not know what that situation would be like where ever you are from.  Good luck with what you are going to do.

Banks provide that service, the atm belong to them soo thats why they dont charge nothing or a tiny fee if you arent at your country. Bitcoin atm are quite expensive and wont be abandoned, otherwise it would already happen, and instead of those they are putting more and more atm around the globe.

I don't trust bitcoin atm's because some people are creating this thing to scam people who are using bitcoin so that they can easily get your bitcoin wallet information and then send it to them if in online shopping yes i would prefer to use it rather than bitcoin exchange site it less hassle for me.

Yeah bitcoin debit card is the wise idea to transfer the money to fiat easily and you can use bitcoin ATM machines to reduce the forex charges and exchange fees. If you use bitcoin debit card you can reduce the these charges.

The high fees are really a big minus, but in our country, you still have the anonymity, because it still works without an ID or something

They need those fees to maintain the machine and other things needed to continually give everyone in your country the good service of that bitcoin ATM.  I wish that there are also bitcoin atm here in our country.  That would be really a hit and it could help to raise curiosity and awareness to those who do not know anything about bitcoins.  It would be safer I think than the ordinary atm since you are the only one who knows your bitcoin address.
