Do I have to register to mine? What is the rejection rate. It is quite high in other pools. Is that due to DDOS?

Yes,  you should register.

Rejection rate? You mean invalid shares? It depends if you use stratum or not. Without stratum it is a bit higher but with stratum it should be quite low

Ah if you have any problem with any miner which can't connect, please tell me so I can integrate it into Suprnova's stratum code as well

none yet, didn't have time to install a non-fork geth yet, wanted to have the pool live asap

Seems like the pool is running well, the Frontend lags a little bit sometimes which I am already working on.

There is still 0 % fee on the pool for the next 12h or so, after that  1% again. If you have any issues or questions, just ask.

Is it under attack? When I ping it, 25% time out. When I mine at it, lots of rejections. It is difficult to mine ETC now.

I have added support for the "old style" eth-proxy (Dwarfpool style).

In case you're still using this python thing and don't want to change over, use your username.workername as your wallet in the conf file and as host:
etc.suprnova.cc Port 2222

Thank you for running such great Altcoin pools!

I was mining at you etc pool for the last few days with claymore single mode. The reward earned seems to be half of the of what "whattomine" predicts/expects.  I have about 380-400 mhs earning about 10 ETC per day using stratum. Is this normal?

In contrast, when mining ETH, the discrepency is much lower from actual to expected. Any help woudbe greatly appreciated.

Actually you should even get a bit more because I am paying also uncles in full, I will do some comparisons and let you know if I find something out. Net hash and diff is swinging a bit which might explain it a bit.

Hi thanks for your reply. I was actually talking about actual vs expected earnings. Probably ETC mining difficulty and new comers reduce the reward significantly which is not reflected in "whattomine"s calculation

Unsure about this, but diff and nethash has doubled in the last 24h which literally halved rewards

I saw strange behaviour earlier when comparing pools:

I was mining on Nanopool since launch and since my estimates are more and more below whattomine's calculator I started to point one rig to supernova for comparison and made a interesting discovery:

I've had a second rig, exactly same setup and same hashrate point at supernova while I was mining at nano:

So supernova pays me about 0.25 ETC within exactly the same time..
THIS IS 50% LESS ON NANO ???!!!!

I've pointed my rigs now to a few other pools and will compare too, something is clearly wrong here !!!


PS: Yes, I waited a bit to get everything mature on Nanopool as well - nothing changed !
And yes, I started at exactly the same time, so difficulty was the same as well !

Is it possible to merge mine the ETC with ETH. I remember that we could merge mine two coins a few years ago.

Not directly merge mining no, because there is no "Aux-PoW" integration in either ETH or ETC which would be necessary to mine both coins at the same time, but you can mine whatever is more profitable, i'm currently testing an auto-switch / auto-exchange port.

In the meanwhile I recommend mining ETC together with SIA or DCR using claymore:

There was a DDoS against one of the stratum servers (the ETH-proxy) which lead to a failure of that stratum.

I've moved this Port now to the (better protected) etc-eu.suprnova.cc server, so please switch your eth-proxy url to etc-eu.suprnova.cc:2222 instead of etc.suprnova.cc

Won't happen, the code is too bugged - not possibly to run the pool reliably until some major things are fixed
