Title: Ethereum Classic going to POS?
Post by: Apolo-New-Miner on July 27, 2016, 04:27:44 PM
Does anyone here think ethereum classic will follow ETH and also go to POS
Is there a chance that ETC stays POW

Thanks

Only if it hard forks and ETC is against forks.

so looks like if the value of ETC actually goes up and holds up it will be profitable to mine.
Good way for us beginners to mine solo

It will have to be forked no matter what but that's okay because forking doesn't matter, that's not the main issue.

I mean ETH was forked when Homestead arrived and it's planned to get forked again with Serenity and that's fine. No, the main issue was that The DAO was bailed out.

Even without Serenity, ETC must be forked eventually either to implement PoS or to disable the difficulty bomb that is already in place. That bomb is in place to force people to reach consensus before the blockchain slows down to a crawl.

Without any forks the difficulty will climb so high on its own that nobody will be able to find blocks anymore.

I think ethereum will stay in pow because devs know that if the ethereum convert to pos the price of bitcoin will continues decrease so
Its impossible tat eth will convert to pos instead.

Right now nobody knows anything what will happen to ETC. Too early to tell. For all we know, ETC could be nothing but a pump and dump.
