So, I was buying a game on Steam with Bitcoins and I used small fees (economic on Bitcoin phone wallet) and it took around 3 hours to get confirmations. Steam already sent me a E - mail telling me that there was an error with the purchase and I thought I lost my Bitcoins since it is not reversible. Luckily, when I got the confirmations, the game arived.

I got a heart attack earlier, but everything went well :)

I have had transactions from gambling sites that have taken over 12 hours to confirm. I sometimes buy bitcoins to convert to altcoins, at the time I buy the bitcoins the altcoins are at a price that I'm willing to pay, it seems as soon as the transaction has confirmed about 6 hours later the price skyrockets. Its frustrating when you don't control the transaction fee when gambling sites payout with minimal fees.

Yep. I used realmitems.com to purchase my realm of the mad god items, but they use this weird third party bitcoin processor. I made a transaction, it didn't get confirmed 6 times within 15 minute (they've since made it 1 confirmation, probably due to prior complaining), so my order was declined. My bitcoin did however go through, it had 3 confirmations. I had to contact their bitcoin payment processor, and after back and forth communication with their crappy customer support, finally got a refund after a week. Ugh.

I use xapo wallet, and cause they don't have transaction fee I always wait to get confirmations. Sometimes its fast, but sometimes I wait for hours to sent my coins where I wish. I learned to be patient with this, and I don't get nervous anymore cause of that.

I think people who wish faster transaction can use wallets where they can adjust sending fee, higher fee equal faster transaction. People need to be ready to pay something to finish things faster.

Yes i have gone through similar situation in my case i have deposited some funds in my neteller account via bitcoin. But it got stucked for almost 12hour+ and than get confirmed however neteller doesn't approved my deposit. So i contacted bitpay and they become nice and helped me to get my deposit get approved by neteller team.

I was also so much tensed in that situation however i was happy by bitpay support.

Not a big issue even if Steam said that their is an Error with the payment you can still send the email along with the transaction id , Order id , And the games you ordered. You can actually send them Screenshot of your purchase. Then they will look into your issue and solve it.

sending with small fees is okay as long the transaction is not having too big size,it's all about the matter of fees/bitcoin for every transaction,so,sending with small fees is not wrong actually

Yes it is not wrong, if you dont need fast transaction atm like send your fund to your cold storage
But see OP's problem, he buying something. I mean he paying a services so it is need to fast transaction

I think the OP did not know about the transaction fee effect on the duration of the confirmation :) And yes I think it's better to lose a little money but with fast transactions, instead of paying a fee for a cheap but make us panic will lose the bitcoin for confirmation too long :) haha

Sending with small fees is not okay i say , Mostly Websites only accepts bitcoin payment when they have 1 confirmation on it and then after that they deliver the product to the user. In most cases, Small/lower fees will make the transaction to be stucked for hours and sometimes days. So think you need a product very immediately and you dont get it because of small fees so better spend few cents for the transaction instead of sending small fees and waiting hours.

I had problems with confirmations sending from cex.io exchange, they didn't allow to use custom fees (or i didn't find how to change it), and it took some hours to confirm.

It's actually fees/size. Sending transactions with little fee is fine but don't expect a confirmation in a day or two if you don't have sufficient priority or BTC transacted. This is especially true when there is a high load on the Bitcoin network, it might confirm in a week or a month (if you rebroadcast it periodically).

For merchants, many would accept 0-confirmation transactions IF sufficient fees are paid. If not, they would require 1 confirmation.

Paying with standard fee 20k sat is enough or you can pay more higher such as 50k sat, it only cost few cent, will not making people poor

yes it happened with me but these situations are very rare. one user had taken loan from me of 0.03Btc and when he re payed me the coins with the interest which was said in our agreement then we found that he sent it but the coins are stuck in the transaction for 2days but he had sent it with 0.0001Btc so its just rare situation

Sounds like the problem arises from the implementation that the services use for their systems..

If they accepted payment as soon as the transaction is broadcasted and then just wait for the confirmations to come before sending, everything would be fine. Seems like they now reject a payment when no confirmations come within a short time, which is kinda stupid.

Luckily I haven't had these experiences yet, but I did have to wait a long time when making a purchase (luckily, their systems were set up correctly).

Yep one day I was too greedy with the fee and it turned out it was too small because it got split in several outputs and I ended up with a stuck transaction so I had to use zapwallettx, luckly I was using Bitcoin Core, if I was not using core then I guess it would have been stuck there for ages...

I used to use their website, but they deleted my account at some point while they were redesigning or something. It was annoying and I was pissed off for a while, but I just don't really care anymore. They were kind of a weak platform to begin with anyways, although I did like them for a while.

Transaction fees are always an issue with sites like this because they won't give you a really good wallet interface aside from the basics because that's not how they roll; it's an investment platform and not supposed to be special or advanced.

All always fee, and that is happened with me sometimes, I forget to put a reliable fee for my transaction and waiting until several ours and not getting a confirmation and my transaction was denied.

Maybe like the people if you giving advice for her to working with you and you're not giving a reliable payment for him, I sure he will become a lazy person because you don't put a reliable payment for him and likely with the transaction.

I am using xapo and there the xapo pay all the fees of my transactions so I do not have to care that how much will I have to pay in fees so that I get confirmations faster, I think xapo is paying the required fees for speeding up the transactions.

They should actually increase the "small fee" option to be about 30% higher than the recommended minimum fee, to prevent instances like this. I once bought some jewelry from someone and the tx

took 2 hours to confirm with the minimum recommended fee, since then I pay higher than the recommended minimum and all my tx's goes through without a problem. The problem is, if everyone

starts to increase the minimum, then we will get stuck with the same problem.  ::) { I once bypassed this problem, by asking the receiver to open a Xapo account and he did... I then send him a

off-chain transfer and he got near instant payment, but this is just a temporary solution } 

We i havent experienced this kind of stuff with bitcoin, but I do experience it in another form of payment.  I use to buy credits in google playstore with my mobile credits.  So I got interested in this game and I feel like I need to buy the limited offer, so I need to use my mobile credit and bought that offered package.  The first one went smoothly but the 2nd and third one were not.  So i was a bit hysterical because I really need that in game package that day.  I did send support ticket to the dev of the game but told me it's the google play I should contact. So in short contacted the playstore and just an auto email and then i gave up and at the next morning all that I bought was in there. So it was fixed.

I've had this experience as well. I have multiple wallets and as I was transferring funds from my online wallet from Coinbase to my desktop wallet which is Electrum, I was kind of monitoring it and after about 15 minutes, I was certain that it should have at least one confirmation and I checked, there wasn't any. The first confirmation was done in around 30 minutes or something and that was probably one of my most anxious 30 minutes.

I believe thos long time waiting is because you are making a deposit or withdraw from your wallet, usually my coins are at exchanges and since they join more then one request, the transactions gets faster confirmations, atleast for me i havent anytime any issue with confirmations at all.

It's only happened to me once when there was a stress (spam) test & that wasn't because I was using low fees. I always use quite a bit over average fees because I don't like waiting ages for confirmations.

i think it never happend that i have not receive the conformation about the transection . but some time it take a lot of time while some time take just few min.

but for some people who are stingy: D Raising the transaction fee is a heavy thing. And yes you said it did not make us poorer. haha
