Making Windows a closed ecosystem would ruin the main advantage that PCs have going for them.
This would be a very bad direction for Microsoft to take their business IMO.
I feel like this is the kind of decision that can kill an OS and I'm not sure they are that stupid.

One of the ways Microsoft has managed to remain on top is by selecting what can or can not work with their OS.
