If Bitcoin sparks your road to success, what will you do for people who shunned you when you were down and out?
(Years ago) I had one chance to buy Bitcoin at ~$0.05 (about 5 USD pennies each!) and I had never heard of BTC, or anticipated the future value so, why bother?  ???
This year, I am full of big ideas and exciting ideas, but some members of my extended family tend to completely ignore my efforts to simply say "Hi" (even without sharing my "exciting ideas") a couple of times a year.

If you were in a similar situation, and eventually made big money from BTCitcoin related businesses, would you forget the previous cold-shoulder, or ignore them when you are "insanely wealthy" from honest efforts related to Bitcoin?

 The big and exciting ideas you are full of and your failure to purchase Bitcoin at 5 cents are irrelevant to the question you posit.  The crux of the matter is your extended families indifference towards you.
In order to properly answer the question, we would need a lot more information without having to wade through the extraneous material.  Usually when people don't want to hear your exciting ideas anymore, it's because you've relied on them too much for support without showing results.  As I said though, we need more information and please try to be concise.

We are similar but we are somehow walking on different paths but the same direction. I had started my bitcoin journey collecting from faucet as I study how bitcoin works and how to earn more without capital from my pocket. My mother, brother and my wife were arguing with me and they constantly telling me to stop engaging in bitcoins since it is a waste of time. I heard different criticisms from them but as of now, from zero i have made 50 to 100$ a week and I prove them all wrong. Their indifference is a challenge and I also thank them for treating me that way without their bad treatment I may not have  pursue bitcoin longer.

It is not in my nature to shun people, I would rather shove the success down their face. I will arrange the biggest Bitcoin party I can fund, and invite all my Bitcoin buddies and we will have a party of the century. I will also invite all these other people, who pushed me down and make them own up to their mistakes.

Why do we need to shy away from the hard work we have put out to make this a success?

If i was in your position and it was justified then i would just forget those people who gave me the cold shoulder but maybe theres more too it than your telling. your biggest problem in this equation is actually getting bitcoin to a price where we would actually be extremely wealthy, Im afraid the early days are well gone and we wont ever see massive price hikes like we did back then. I cant ever see myself saying i could have bought loads of bitcoins at 700 dollars but never took the opportunity .

I had to lol at this.  I'd love to be able to shove success down a lot of people's throats--or ram it up their butts, but that just ain't happening for me.

I don't have tales of being able to buy bitcoin at a nickel,  as I wasn't aware of it then.  Oh well.  We really are still in the early adopter phase.   Bitcoin is still very young and we're probably still at a low price.

nope. i will still tell them about it and teach them everthing they wanted to know. they are still family and that's what family are for :D maybe they are cold - shoulder before because they haveb't heard anything about bitcoin from someone with influence.

Family's sucks, especially big ones this days. Unfortunately times changed.
The only place where you&your family looks good is an old Polaroid picture.
Forget about them, why should you bother? You don't own them anything!
When they note your success in the future and all of a sudden start to recognise you as a valuable
family member show them the correct finger. Middle one :) as they are showing it to you now.
    

even for me same. my family was telling it is waste of time working on small amount which is not worth for spending more time to earn  small amount on anything like bitcoin or any other currency like dollar.but now making some good amount by earning on signature campaign.it is the only matter of time and patience :)

The reason people are acting like this is because they don't understand bitcoin. It is much easier to just ignore something you don't understand than trying to figure out a way to understand.

Personally, I wouldn't blame them too much for their behaviour. I also wouldn't let them share directly from the wealth I earned any other way than I would by earning it in a different way.

If you would earn your money in a different way, how would you answer your own question?

If it is family and friends then I will forget all of it. If I got wealthy with all of this then I might help them if they need it. Pride is a killer, I wont let it stand in my way. I would rather be humble than stress out myself thinking there is someone that I hate.
I wont ignore them, I will let them see that I am doing my best and I did it.  

Why should you care for people who shunned you? Even if you made big they probably wouldn't know... And if suddenly they started to care for you that would be a bit suspicious.

Yeah, maybe the OP requires attention to everyone. This is a behavior that is less well done, because it can make we cannot evolve into a better person again. Better care of ourselves first, and after we've been better then we could care about the people, but the thing we have to care about first is family, after that, others

well, i have only introduced bitcoin to the people whom i knew, like my family and friends and also some of my coworkers. and not all of them have accepted it and even thought i am wasting my time. so even if i get somewhere with bitcoin and become successful this way, they are still my family and friends and i will still continue showing them the benefit of using bitcoin.

You cannot blame people for being ignorant and pessimistic, we were there too... until we saw the bigger picture and the true potential of this technology. I would buy each of them a little gift and add

a paper wallet to the gift, with a little money. I will not match their attitude towards me and towards Bitcoin. People believe when they see physical items, and a gift and a paper wallet will be the thing

that gets their attention. Would you be interested if I give you enough money on a piece of paper to buy yourself, say a X-box or a new Tablet?

People will cry in 10 years once they realize buying Bitcoin at 600+ dollars was still cheap as hell. Once we are past 100k dollars per BTC they will cry and regret so much. It will be even worse than missing on a 1 dollar or so per BTC because by 2016 you should have had enough time to learn the importance of owning at least 1 BTC.

if family are ignoring your "ideas" it may be simply that they dont understand or dont want to get involved

many relatives of mine dont even want to install solar panels, so if i magically got rich from maybe buying shares in a company related to solar, ofcourse im not going to show disrespect to family.(crap analogy i know)

if they need financial help then let your personal morals guide who deserves it,

however if the family have be vengeful and shown hate towards you, then be happy you only have to say hi to them 2 times a year, and guide them to another relative that may help them that they atleast had some respect for

If i will be very successful or rich then i won't forget my past never because that past will make me self motivated every time to give me more strength 
to achieve more success with bitcoin !

I have my plans for my future and I want bigger success and in that way I do not want to look back, so I will not care about them , but I will only keep remember those people who have helped me in my success.

I think its  not right to not forgive people or not forget what they have done including ignoring you.  Maybe if I gone rich with bitcoin effort, I'll  just do the same normal way I'm doing.  If they greet me , well i will greet them back.  If they inquire about bitcoin, I will happily educate them with it and even show them the richest bitcoin information site for further and deeper knowledge about bitcoin.  Doing what they do to you will make you the same kind people as they are.  Better stay humble and be blessed more.

If they have shunned me away when I was just starting then that just shows who cares or not about me or what I am going to do. If at the start they did not support me but along the way when they see that I am really dedicated to what I am doing and they started to care then they deserve to be with me in my success but if they only show that they care when they see that I am already successful then that just show their true colors and they don't deserved to be with me. The deserving ones are the ones who supported me all the way.

Sometimes they say no when you want to invest in something like in this case on bitcoin, but I wouldnt spend my energy again to them but I would say hi to them again because maybe they wanted me to not fall on something bad.

if its happen to me, i will ignored them that will do not followed me. everybody deserve to get own life and even own success. and while other people do not believe that we can do to reach our dreams, do not thinking about them. just make it happen as soon as possible and show to them that we can do it.

its like its my own journey to reach what i want, and i think its good if i am doing this. better you (other family) do what you want, but in other situation, we are family. its just different step of how to make money that we can do.

actually, i have in this situation which my mother ask me, how you can do that, how long you can reach it, do you want to this all day in 24 hours, bla bla bla. but i only tells my mother like this,"mom, i am doing this because this is my option to make money like others people with their job. i don't know how i can reach it, how long, or even how much time i will spend it. but i only believe, that i can reach it as soon as i possible. i can be like others that have their money with their jobs. all i am doing this is just in a short time, just to build a system and then after it works, it will be go by itself. all i need from you mom is your pray, because without your pray, my dream will not come true.

You are right they may just be concerned to the welfare of the author since bitcoin is new to them and its volatile.

Or maybe they have some sorce of income or business that they are good at and they no longer need bitcoins since it is already sufficient to them.

In the end whatever reasons they may have always remember that a good relationship cannot be replaced by bitcoin so just treat them nicely.

Well that's just how it is. People aren't receptive to any idea unless they can benefit from it. As for me, life goes on, if he/she doesn't care then I too won't. It's not just for success through efforts being involved in the BTCBTCBTC industry but life in general.

Of course, it could also go the other direction (which is unlikely, but still, consider). I agree that BTC is going to rise in price, but probably not that much. It will need to gain lots of attention to even start rising. I would say the cap for this year is around 1300 and no more.

People don't want to get it and they don't want it to work. Anyone not involved with btc that i've spoken to in person insisted on giving me their negative opinions, with an endgame of saying it will be dead soon. Well it isn't dead yet,  but that doesn't change their mind.

People who stand by you in times of adversity are your true friends, cherish them. When you become wealthy, let them partake in your wealth. Those who turned their backs at you might come to you for help in good times, help them in what ever way you can but DO NOT put your trust in them.

I hope that in 10 years we re all rich as fuck even with smaller amounts like 10 BTC, that would be great and I would definitely show up with a cool car to make the haters mad. I hate the feel of being seen as some sort of weirdo that is into this strange bitcoin think and at the same time love the feel of being a visionary.

Well man I think ill not forget them even if I got so rich because of bitcoin. Even if they are that way, they are still part of my family and ill never forget my family members even if they are annoying, and even if they are not that friendly towards me. Ill always remember them and try my best not to forget them since they're the first persons I spend my time with when I was young.

I don't permit anyone in my life who'd shun me for anything. plenty of people I know don't have shit and they've known me when I had zero too. that's never affected any friendship I had. if bitcoin did help me succeed then I've no idea where any of the assholes I got rid of would be anyway and I don't got any interest in crowing about anything.

If bitcoin brought success to me, the thing I will do is help the people closest to me first like family, friends and people around. Once I do that, and then I will help people I do not know :)

Honestly, I will do nothing to them, at least they can see themselves that what I've done have been worth it to me. You don't need to revenge just because they did not trust/appreciate what you're doing before. Just smile and keep going. Remember that if you do what they did to you before, you're just like one of them.

Well if my effort pave a way for me getting rich, I would still be normal.  As if nothing happen and for those who ignored me or laught at me while explaining them about bitcoin, Im sure by that time, the curiosity already triggered and they  will be willing to be re-introduced bitcoin to them.   Being humble will make your situation win-win. So stay being accomodating and nice.

actually only 4 people who know I earn money so called bitcoin. the first one is he who introduced bitcoin to me and always support me. two of them are they who taught me about signature campaign, and the last one is my classmate. I think she wants to earn bitcoin too, but bitcoin is hard to understand for her.

there are no people shun me yet. and I hope there won't be, but if it would happen, probably I do nothing to them. I just don't know what to do. show off how much money I got? I think it's useless.

Mate you will get friends and acquaintances knocking on your door for free handouts and not just your extended family if you have ended up very wealthy from any kind of business not only Bitcoin-related one. Personally I don't beg for money from relatives whether or not I have exciting novel ideas or need money for rent for example and neither do I hand out money for whatever reason. Plus with the amount of sob stories we are exposed to everyday on this forum I will most likely not care at all.

I got acceptance from most of my closest persons, but when I made a decision of going full time to earn good every one opposed. Now I'm on the track to prove them the real facts and its potential. Soon or later with my growth through bitcoin will make them realize.

i will like to say that from 2011 to 2014 i remained jobless, it was really difficult for me to support my family my kids ins such situation but i can say that my friends my family my brother and sister my mother really support me in such a hard time. they assist me financially they pay my children school fee they feed me they gave pocket money i am really proud of them and hope that i will also help them if they need my help. because i cannot forget the previous hard time i spent.

I can`t become "insanely wealthy" with bitcoin business so i don`t know.

Maybe,i would ignore them.I just stay away from stupid people so i wouldn`t care that much.

actually, some people close to me told me i was dumb for buying at around $200 after the price went down from its all time when mtgox collapsed. they told me that i catched a falling knife and all. look where we stand now. it feels great when i prove people wrong that have been making fun of me. but now i proved them wrong, i am not making fun of them. i'm not like that. i just keep my mouth shut and enjoy my profits.

Yeah, it's the easiest thing good and easy to get trust from someone who we invite to join in the bitcoin. All people will tend to believe and do command to show all the evidence and they are talking about. Similarly, your way, this exceptional

I missed the train to buy bitcoin at a very cheaper price than now but I can't say nothing to anyone because they didn't forced me to not buy bitcoins at that time. Once I told a friend about trading on poloniex and when he saw lots of numbers told me stop doing that because you should be very clever there.

You are a positive person , everyone should have to think positive like you, bitcoin is a much busy field and in this field we do not find any time to shun or to take revenge from someone, we have to introduce it to everyone, I want everyone to join that field and to adopt a busy life in bitcoin so that they also get success and live a successful and respectable life.

I have joined the field of bitcoin and I am on the way of success and now I have forgot about the people who tried to shunned me, I now invite all my friends to start their work with bitcoin, with that they wil love me as I have provided them such a beneficial job and the benefit to me wil be that the price of bitcoin will increase more higher as with more people the demand of bitcoin incraeses

if it ever happens that the price of bitcoins gets down by 5 cents then i would definetely buy 1000btc maybe more ..and save it for the  future .then when its price rose upto 2000 bucks then i would sell it out so that i  get all the money all and i want and rest of it .i l buy land land and build a blood bank which is very important ..dont u think?? kudos :)

I am a very proud guy. I would need to make a big effort to overcome and forget this unfortunate antecedent, but in the case that those disbelieving people were my own family, I might be a little more considerate and indulgent with them because of my superior economic status.

Really of i manage to make $500 monthly from bitcoin then definitely I will donate 1% of my earning in charity and i will gift some of my bitcoin to the person who helped me in bitcoin world

I will be more focus in business related bitcoin, growing up wealthy in bitcoin and i won't try to another people for joint in business related bitcoin. Because it is just waste my time.

as some wrote before this is not to much of a bitcoin related problem, as many rich will know the situation in which you are everybodys best friend once you have some money.
but what i found out, is that many do not even listen or want to listen when you tell them about bitcoin, since they have it flagged down as scam/conspiracy and never bothered to really understand it. this is the only reason i would give them one more chance if they want me and not my money.   

I think OP has some personal issues to deal with. Just because they aren't interested with your ideas doesn't mean that you should hold a grudge against them. They're your family and they always will be. Given your current situation and the future situation that you're looking forward to, if that happens to me, I'll be just "I told you so." to those people who looked down on me and didn't listen to me while bathing in a pool of money.

I am not doing much with my bitcoins to merit me great success in the future, so I am not sure what to do. But if I become ridiculously rich by some twist of fate, I would maintain a low key profile and would act as if nothing has changed. Money can really get in our heads sometimes, because we can buy a lot of things with it, sometimes even friends can be bought.

I think i will help some people who do not know about bitcoin and i will put a bitcoin exchange will much lower fee than other sites, i can able to earn income while i am helping to some people to have bitcoin and also to earn a lot like me.

I think this topic have much deeper meaning, its not just with bitcoins, people often have same situations with family and friends. There is no universal answer how to solve this kind of problems, we all live in different cultures with different value system, also everyone is different.
You should do what you think its the best, forget about them. Do what you think its right and never regret cause of that. You can give them another chance, or stay same thing, maybe even cut them from your life. Be with people who respect you and threat you nice, and I think you can explain to your family that with nice words.

the first thing i do, if i got success from bitcoin, i will brag in front of them, then i will teach them about bitcoin, we can get angry, we can piss off but we need to learn to forgive, they dont support because they dont understand from our point of view, so after you already success they will understand and follow you

I will try to explaining again about bitcoin and other coins , there are chance for successful in cryptos coins and i will forgive them in past. Because bitcoin and another cryptos coins will be survive if there are many people who use them.

I'd take the latter of your options and do nothing concerning those who shunned me.
I would not befriend them, after I had made it.
I would not forgive them
I definitely would not want to get involved with their "investment ideas that would make us each even more money"
I would however help them if something happened that put them down and out; not to the level they'd want or expect, but, I probably would save them from rock bottom. Also, I would make sure that they understood that was the difference.
