Title: Hashrate dropped after i used CMOS jumper?
Post by: rezours on July 31, 2016, 09:46:18 AM
I did not configure any bios setting or anything to my motherboard beforehand.
so today , my motherboard suddenly couldn't detect my GPU(R9 290 Tri-x sapphire) and i tried to use the cmos jumper to reset the bios .

it worked but .... my hashrate was originaly stable at 30Mh/s(on ethereum) and now it is only performing at 27Mh/s

Does anyone know what is happenning? thanks!

it happens frequent when you reset the bios! you more then likely will have to go into the bios and set several of the working parameters manually . working bios very often get a non original working setup because of the hardware used to test it with and if they do not reset it after the test they will remain set for those different hardware.

You didnt have your pcie slot overclocked at all did you? Did you setup the pc in the first place? An overclocked pci slot may have given you a boost or more likely your fsb was sligthly higher which would allow everything to run above standard clock speeds. If your going to tinker then dont touch the pcie slot overclock though because thats a good way to kill your gpu, A slight bump on your fsb may give you a noticeable increase though.

After you reset your CMOS, you need to input the optimum setting again. Otherwise, factory default will be used.
