Sure 11 prefix is very realistic to generate with vanitygen, but all the XXXXXXXX?  Maybe they were just very very lucky when they were searching for 1Chancecoin.  . . . OR . . . Maybe they have figured out a way to calc private keys from an address???

IF,  IF someone has figured out a way to determine your private keys, I am sure they would want to keep it a secret.  But if so, why would you put this much BTC in on this address?  wouldnt that tell everyone about their secret?

Looking forward to the responses that the 1ChancecoinXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX address is just luck.

the bitcoin addresses like these don't have any private keys. they can be created easily with only calculating the correct sequence of letters and numbers that make a bitcoin address (i think it is called checksum)

filter=1 shows the spent coins which is zero.

there are more of these addresses, like 1BitcoinEater.....

they are used to destroy coins because they don't have private keys, and i don't know why anybody would do it.

I don't think someone has figured out a way to calculate private keys from your surface address, but if they have I would be quite surprised. I think it is more likely that someone generated the thing and more than likely has some sort of business operating off of it. The last time it has a sizeable amount deposited was back in 2014, so I don't think the guy is doing much anymore.

Why would someone destroy those amounts of bitcoin? I can understand some people doing it for testing purposes or something, but there are transfers of 10k USD value at the time of transaction and those just don't make any sense no matter how you look at it.

It appears that it was burning address for a new coin that generated those coins for burned bitcoin.

The ZELUFD on the end of the Bitcoin address is the checksum. Bit lucky the checksum is all upcase, but it would be much harder to find XXXXXX checksum for different starting vanity address, but it would be pretty cool address ending with many X'es.

And yes, as was told no private key exist, its just valid Bitcoin address because the checkum is right. You can create any address you like and with correct checksum it is valid one, though you wont have private key to the address to spend any coins from the address.

We dont know the real behind this case but maybe i think he just lucky to get those xxxx in his address.. also i check the address it has 480 btc inside looks like he is owning a large amount of bitcoins..  maybe he think that its safe to save bitcoins in that address.

There was a list of official burn addresses floating around, but I cannot seem to find it now, if anyone can post it, it would be highly appreciated. I could not understand why people were burning money

and then someone explained it to me the whole concept behind it, which made sense. I think a bunch of those guys and gals will regret it, once the price goes to the moon.. or they thought that by

burning the coins, it would push it to the moon.  ::)
