Title: Incredible stories of Bitcoin millionaires
Post by: boumalo on August 01, 2016, 05:53:34 PM
I was looking at https://blockchain.info/address/1Fd8RuZqJNG4v56rPD1v6rgYptwnHeJRWs Stefan Molyneux's bitcoin adress :

Total Received   652.94530317 BTC

Final Balance   521.24590891 BTC

He accumulated quite a lot of bitcoins through donations, it will eventually buy a lot in a few years and it is incredible. Do you have other stories of people accumulating large amount of bitcoins without investing any fiat ?

521 BTC is currently worth about $320,000, and not $1 million.

"without investing any fiat" makes no sense to me because you can trade BTC for fiat at any time.  Stefan Molyneux currently has $320,000 worth of fiat invested in BTC. Where the $320,000 came from makes no difference. He is investing $320,000 in BTC.

During Bitcoin's first year people would give away 50 or 100 Bitcoins because it had so little value.

There must be some recipients of those giveaways who still hold their coins. They are not millionaires yet, but if Bitcoin keeps going up in price they will be millionaires in the future without having invested anything.

same here. lol

if we can get bitcoin on that amount through donations, then we're gonna rich in the simplest way, but I don't think he got those 521btc from donations. just like odolvlodo said, it's from his investment on fiat:

Quote
Stefan Molyneux currently has $320,000 worth of fiat invested in BTC. Where the $320,000 came from makes no difference. He is investing $320,000 in BTC.

In a few years he might be Bitcoin millionaire, either with price increase or donations still comming in. If the 500 BTC really come just from donations, that would be impressive. Or he just using one Bitcoin address only (lol), and bought some Bitcoins.

there's some strange stories about this guy. certain people reckon he's bordering on operating a cult. he's got a thing about all relationships being voluntary, which of course they should be, but he encourages people to cut themselves off from their families. I guess someone like that's gonna have a fervent following and get more contributions than your average sad sack on youtube.

i think the OP is generally asking if there are stories from holders of ~1500 btc and is only using stefans hoard as a example of someone holding more than average which may become valued at $1m in the future.

i think the OP see's stefans holdings and presumes stefan did not directly put in his own FIAT initially to buy those bitcoins. meaning stefan only received bitcoin as bitcoin, rather than being fiat rich initially to just buy $300k of bitcoin upfront.

put it this way you dont need to have had $1million dollars initially to accumulate gold which one day may be valued as $1m..

Does the story about Satoshi Nakamoto holding som one million Bitcoin count. If it does well I think he is probably the biggest Bitcoin millionaire.

I heard another story about this guy who store 1000BTC in a USB and then lost it.  :P

You would probably do suicide if you lose 1000 BTC  in your USb its either you lost it  or the usb corrupted/reformat. Then it would be the biggest disaster on your life. Thats why  i dont like storing bitcoin in hardwares because the risk  is still there but in online theres a risk also if you got hacked but its  too hard i guess.

Thats not far to achieve if donations are still coming in. Maybe he is wise enough why people keep on donating. Does he has some charity project? Its not ethical also if he keeps on accepting donations without returning it back to help the needy or community.

He would probably reach that amount that he would be a millionaire but the big question is how  did he  do that? on what ways does he accumulate such big amount  thru donations itself. Well no one really knows what he raise but one things for sure thats a big amount could make him  a bitcoin millionaire.

The real Bitcoin millionaires will never reveal their true identities for obvious reasons, but it would be cool if one or two of them could write something anonymous and tell the world about their road to success. The mainstream media love stories like this, and it will attract a lot of positive attention. ^smile^

I agree, those bitcoin  millionaires just keep silent  and  focuses more  on their businesses i guess. They wont  exposed themselves in public since  it would be very dangerous for them to scammers or hackers  even though  they are anonymous. I would love to see their success stories  so that i would get inspired somehow. Maybe most of the  bitcoin millionaires re those early adopters.

Not yet but I strongly believe that the movie is yet to begin. We might have next millionaires roaming around this forum, as they have deep belief in this revolutionary technology and these are the people who are going to shape the future of bitcoin (and bitcoin is going to shape our next gen digital economy). I would love to become millionaire with bitcoin but that’s not on the top of my hit list, I want to contribute in this revolutionary concept and I really want to see the better, hassle free, open world where anyone from any corner of the world can transact with anyone from any other corner of the world. This process might produce many millionaires but I am in love with this technology rather than financial part.

521BTC isn't even near $1 Million so I don't get how this is a story of a millionaire. However, that amount received from donation is something in itself.

I know somebody who owns about 15k bitcoins when he started way back 2010 I think? He was one of the pioneer miners and he actually forgot about it and only realized its value last year.

As of now, the balance is just about 0.07BTC. Who knows, he may have invested it already to a business or something? With that amount of btc received, for sure, he made a fortune already. And the good thing, is there are still incoming transactions.

a lot of value from a donation, but what is the purpose of the donation? Personally, it's really a shame the mental nature of a beggar I think
If you search the name of the guy, you'll see what he's up too. He's known for conspiracy theories and there are other things that you'll see if you search for him.

Usually when these people are asking for donation, sometimes it's not really an actual donation but it's going to be used somewhere for funding those things that they do.

This story has been going through all channels for many years now. If you search for „The Bitcoin Family“, there are more stories and many where you can find yourself. One thing is special: The whole family lives it publicly and is not afraid to take risks. Bitcoin bought at $900 to not sell in the 2017/2018 crash...well, I guess somewhat to pay for living expenses. I think there are a few more, but they don't show it to the outside world.

THE BITCOIN FAMILY
A family sold everything and bet on bitcoin, now they hide their wealth around the world

I didn't know the guy, but googling and learning that he's a white supremacist far-right conspiracy theorist honestly doesn't add up to me with 'incredible stories'. It's indeed incredible that a guy like that receives so much money from others, which means that the support of such views is very strong. But it's incredible, not in a good way, as I think people like this harm BTC's reputation a lot, and we should avoid popularizing them. For instance, there's a good charity  (https://www.charitywater.org/bitcoin)that accepts BTC donations (and currently has accumulated 42 BTC) which they tend to use on improving access to clean water in the communities that need it by 2025, expecting BTC to rise a lot by then.

1250BTC in a total of Stefan's donation, this is an outstanding balance as of today. He didn't accumulate all these thru trading. But does this mean BTC users are often believers of conspiracy theories?

This is very inspiring because I can also do stories of my own to present as conspiracy theories and then ask for donations for more investigations.  ;D
Been watching a lot of influencers like Kim Iversen (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCoJTOwZxbvq8Al8Qat2zgTA) who can also come up with conspiracy of her own about political conspiracy theory, she should really be using BTC too.

Because it is stated quite a lot and they bought more Bitcoins, I am pretty sure that he is also trading or doing some investment, utilizing the bearish and bullish market era will also give a certain big impact on the amount of BTC that he has.

the story of millionaires who gain their rupiah coffers in bitcoin makes me motivated to do the same thing as what they get, it's not impossible for us to try to be like them, of course this is not easy it requires such a long and tough process, I can only hope that someday they can gain success like what they have achieved so far
The billionaire who made success on bitcoin believes that bitcoin will be very valuable to this day. Since bitcoin was created they started investing and earning now. nothing is done instantly, everything requires a long process and will play your psychology.

For the people mentioned by the OP are people who do fundraising specifically for the homeless and people who really need it. They are not billionaires, they are just ordinary people who invite us to donate some of our bitcoin assets to those in need.

I guess this op just looked into the future before making this post. When this was made the 521 BTC isn’t worth up to a million, but check now, it is worth more than  one million dollars. If you check with the current rate of bitcoin, it is around $24,000,000 (twenty four million dollars) that’s a really huge amount of money today for anyone to hold. Imagine if this guy was able to hold that 521 BTC from then till now, he will be very happy with himself and will be smiling to the bank. This is why it is good to buy and hold your bitcoins for a long term. You’re sure going to be happy that you did.

Doesnt matter on whatt kind of accumulation method that you are taking the important thing is that you do able to save up and buy more bitcoins and i dont have a track on where those donations  should be applied
on but rather he do make use of it to take advantage on buying even more coins? yes, its good in the sense that it could really make him rich but there were no assurances in the past that a certain person
could guaranteed that they would make money when the market tends to have some bullish run.Only to those who do able to held up  that long are the ones who had really benefited on this market
but doesnt  mean that it would be late for those new comers.

We can see here clearly how beneficial it is to hold your bitcoin for a very long time and sell it when the time is already ripe. Just imagine how low the value was compared to what we have right now on that year. Bitcoin has been a bridge for many people towards wealth and a secured future. Take consideration also of the fact that the bitcoin he accumulated came from donations which means there was not much effort exerted to gain such huge amount. If ever he was able to really hold that up until now, he is, for certain, already a millionaire and hopefully he will be wise on how is going to use it specially if he will diversify it to make his profit grow even more.

He accumulated quite a lot of bitcoins through donations, it will eventually buy a lot in a few years and it is incredible. Do you have other stories of people accumulating large amount of bitcoins without investing any fiat ?
Yes i have, but not bitcoin though. It's altcoin. So, recently I saw so many crypto promotor in social media such as twitter, so it's basically like someone with a huge followers and engagement that is promoting your crypto projects, or altcoins, bitcoin and such. I once came upon this girl who said that she once some coins from her client or the sponsor, I don't know what coins she get since she doesn't spill it, at first, the one who has the project sent her coins worth of $300. However later on, the coin is now worth $40k, which is insanely an amazing amount! She didn't spend any money on that, she got it freely from the project team, and now she profited hella lot of money from that. It might be because she's so patient as well. Imagine if the first time she got it she just sold it since it's still a 'nobody' coin, however she kept them and now, look at her. Got a fortune from it. Lucky for sure.

To find out the truth, it is necessary to look at the background first. maybe Stefan Molyneux is someone who has an important role in the development of bitcoin so many stockholders want to donate to Stefan Molyneux as a sign of gratitude from those who feel it is profitable to be a partner with Stefan Molyneux. so I guess it's fair to earn 521 BTC over the past few years.

That was incredible yet unbelievable story of how the person that the OP have mentioned accumulated such a big amount of Bitcoin even without putting up an investment through fiat and those have gathered only by just donations. Maybe at that time Bitcoin was just a small amount compared for today and if that person have managed to take into hold with those Bitcoins for years since accumulation, he would really be a multi millionaire as of the moment that Bitcoin's price have boom compared to what it have before.

Fast forward to current time and price, this person has rip more than he/she sowed, I mean with such amount of btc at present price! Jaw dropping  i.e if the wallet still hold the btc or at least a good amount of it till this recent times (since I didn't click on the link to validate the post) but assuming he still hold till now, it will be insane, the early adopters really got lucky back then, imagine this amount of btc all from donation :o

Getting through donations then it is something that cant really be  achieved unless if you are a known person who propose something into the public and make them convinced but other than that then it wont really
be such an easy thing for someone to get those bitcoins without investing or getting some funds into their pockets excluding to those who had mined on those earlier  days via personal computer then you would definitely
become millionaire but acquiring it into other methods is just way too impossible but hey everything does have the possibilities.

the crypto world is really full of surprises huh? it must be very valuable and very useful if it is really used for a noble purpose.

there's an important lesson from this, as you said, it could be the accumulation of a small number of donations, which is collected later into a large number. so don't be discouraged how much pub btc we have now, consider it a savings, who knows in a few years it could rise to hundreds of times, so don't give up.

I am curious how he convince so many people to do donations and he got that much money. I know that not all of the Bitcoins are from donations. But at least, it is many of them.
Well, although he did the donation and collect the numbers, at least, he has owned that much. Using them and adding more deposits to trade or hold Bitcoin from year to year also make the numbers increasing again.
So nice luck to him!

Why is the development of cryptocurrency fairly fast, even the popularity of Bitcoin continues to increase every year. Even though not all countries
support crypto, it's all because the crypto world can give us hope to become rich people. Because there are so many early adopters who became rich
after successfully collecting Bitcoin and holding Bitcoin until the price was as high as it is now. What's interesting is that a lot of people started out
just collecting small amounts of Bitcoin, but done consistently for several years can finally get a big profit. This means that the crypto world
opens up opportunities for everyone to become rich, the most important thing is to do it the right way and full of patience.

currently bitcoin ownership is dominated by men. In more detail, as many as 71 percent of bitcoin owners are men, then the rest are owned by women. It's natural that most of the people who become rich thanks to virtual currency are men. But their journey is not easy, they risk their future for bitcoin, like my friend he doesn't want to go to college anymore, because he wants to focus on bitcoin, now he you can say that you have become a millionaire.. the effort will not betray the results..

seems like he's a lucky man but the way i think maybe in the early years of BTC was born 2009 when the value of BTC wasn't too high, and the way i think they donated in quite small amount at that time but didn't expect that small value, this lucky guy didn't sell it right then and left it until now, what a lucky guy.

This is a suitable reward for those who like to donate, they don't want to get a reply but they are rewarded by the creator of the world with many times, this is an inspiration for us that from now on don't be afraid to help people in need.

The early investors of bitcoin are now the bitcoin millionaires. It is because the price of bitcoin is few cents in 2010. But now its price is in thousand of dollars. That's why i said that the early holders of bitcoin are now millionaires.
But some peoples become millionaires through collecting fake donations program. Many peoples donate money. But they are just trying to collect the money through conducting fake donation programs.
