İ want to build a 6 GPU rig with with a 2011-3 Socket. İ have these MB s as options http://www.akakce.com/anakart.html/36011 and here http://www.novabilgisayar.com/Anakart.asp?ANAKART-SOCKET=LGA-2011 Most of the time they have 4x PCIe 3.0 x16 and 2 x PCIe 2.0 x1 slots. So for the PCIe 3.0 x16 slots, i just need x16 to x16 risers something like this ? ( These are just extension cables, am i right? Also, if I am not mistaken, which I might be, I don't believe that you can run more than 6 GPU's on a machine. Like I said, don't quote me on that, but the 7 PCI slots would be a waste I believe. But i think there arent any 16x to 16x powered riser ? Only for the 1x to 16x if im not mistaken... Should be fairly easy to find. Here is a website that seems to be good gpushack.com. Ok, that was where I was thinking it was from. Can't run more than 6 GPU's on windows. Did not know that about Linux though. I remember seeing an attempt at a huge backplane to run a bunch of GPU's, but I am pretty sure that they never got it going. (all headless and remote access i assume) |
