Title: Dan & Ned getting desperate to keep the ponzi going
Post by: magicalacademy on August 02, 2016, 09:53:09 PM
They have added a BUY STEEM POWER button on the front page.

What they don't tell you though is that under 5000$ worth of SP your upvote is worth less than a penny. ( essentially nothing)

Also they don't tell you that blocktrade is taking a massive cut for every transaction.

Have a look at the power distribution here https://steemd.com/distribution

Basically 0.47% of the users owns 90% of steem power

Note: This number doesn't even include Dan & Ned's account @steemit  which is about 80% of the whole steem supply.

I went to check some of the thread over there yesterday and the circlejerk is so strong that they actually repeat false information.

The Steemit people are the same sheeple we have in our society. You know those who watch mainstream propaganda, then they go out and repeat the lie as fact, the lie then gets spread among everyone and eventually becomes the perceived reality.
The lie here being that steem power gives you interest and that steem power give the average person some power within the community.

I always thought that people in the crypto space had a superior IQ , but I was wrong. Crypto users are throwing their wage into this thing thinking they will get rich and powerful, sad really...

As long as you remain factual and don't repeat the nonsense about the forward stock splits being a loss of value, then I will support your factual posts such as this one.

The concept of stock splits make sense for a real share in a company but for a currency it's nonsense.

Incorrect.

Everyone who owns a unit of STEEM or SP, gets x times more units. If the price drops by x, then everyone has the same value they had before the forward split.

Come on man, this is elementary school math.

Give me one example of a currency that gets reverse splitted?  This shit doesn't work in real life

They have added a BUY STEEM POWER button on the front page.

That link was added like three months ago. shortly (maybe a week?) after the web site went live. Except in a very narrow sense it wasn't "added" and certainly not recently. Your post is trolling nonsense.

I agree that Blocktrades is usually (but not always) a worse deal than going through an exchange but it is also more convenient (no registration required, etc.) and that may be an okay tradeoff for small purchases.

Currencies do get revalued, and I think Zimbabwe did this not too long ago after their bout of hyperinflation.   Can someone elucidate that?  But yeah, splitting a currency sounds fucking retarded.

I usually try not to debate with steemllionaire because it's obvious that they will try everything to defend this sinking ship.

But for the sake of it check out these videos uploaded a few days ago

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fup00gxSJFA    at 00:15 min

Where is that "buy steem power" button ?  I thought it was added like 3 months ago  lol

You must be too busy screening for boobs to have missed that!

Where's the button now? I don't see anything different from those videos.

The only "buy steem/power" option I know about is behind the hamburger menu. It has been there for months.

EDIT:

You're right! My mistake. A new more prominent button was indeed added, which I wasn't seeing (not sure if it was even there or if I just didn't notice -- maybe I needed to reload the JavaScript or something).

So, you are complaining because they created another shortcut to the front page? really?

Maybe they should  remove the shortcut from the menu too, would this make you happy troll?

Srsly, what is wrong with you?  Are you borderline retarded or something?

This guy has always been a hardcore supporter of the Larimers and their scams.  I find it extremely hard to believe that anyone would be this gullible and easily suckered / manipulated into their schemes.  You've either got a bad case of Stockholm syndrome or you're paid to do this.  Nobody is this naive.

The OP is 110% correct in his allegations that the Larimers and Ned, the CEO fall boy, are trying to milk this con for all it's worth.  They'll do and say anything to keep the money rolling in.  They have no allegiance to anything except the all-mighty dollar.  More people need to be calling out scammers like the Larimers and exposing them for the sleazy con-men that they really are.  Good job OP!

No, you are not.

You are a 2 weeks old account with 62 out of your 63 total posts trolling about STEEM.

Currencies do get revalued, and I think Zimbabwe did this not too long ago after their bout of hyperinflation.   Can someone elucidate that?  But yeah, splitting a currency sounds fucking retarded.

I am repeating this definition for the retards who failed elementary school math:

What is a 'Stock Split'

A corporate action in which a company divides its existing shares into multiple shares. Although the number of shares outstanding increases by a specific multiple, the total dollar value of the shares remains the same compared to pre-split amounts, because the split did not add any real value. The most common split ratios are 2-for-1 or 3-for-1, which means that the stockholder will have two or three shares for every share held earlier.

Also known as a "forward stock split."

Do you all realize how frustrating it is correct your lazy mistakes over and over and over and over and over again. Come on guys, how about at least thinking and researching a bit before you repeat the same misinformation over and over and over again. Parroting it between each other, like dumb ass ducks.

How about you guys show your appreciation by being the ones to correct the others that will make the same mistake. That responsibility shouldn't always rest on my (or smooth's) shoulders. He even tried to explain this to magicalacademy last week, but magicalacademy continues to not comprehend a stock split.

How can investors make good decisions here if they are always fed misinformation. Please try to be factual.

I agree with some of magicalacademy's stance about Steem being a dubious investment. But he is being lazy with his analysis. He is using his predisposed opinion to distort statements. If he wants to be taken seriously, he should make only factual statements and at least admit and correct his errors in fact.

I understand the dislike of Steem and the wish to see it fail. But for that to happen, requires not lying to ourselves, so that we know the true weaknesses and not deluding ourselves with imagined weaknesses that don't exist.

If the rules are encoded in the blockchain, then what is the salient distinction from any other rule encoded in the blockchain?

So minting new coins is also a crock of shit?

I agree that the stock split is a pita and a stupid decision decision ostensibly motivated by saving a couple of bytes for each amount in a transaction, but it does not affect the value of the currency at all (at least not in terms of proportion of the market capitalization, although one might argue that it will be chaotic and cause irrational price fluctuation).

If you are going to criticize Steem, there are much more egregious weaknesses you can enumerate than this weak-ass shit argument.

Comparisons to the REAL Stock Markets are a crock of shit.

I don't want to hear it until we have our own Berni Madoff & Martha Stewart and many more in jail.

Until then spare me the silly nonsense comparisons please.
