I have amd windows 8 laptop very basic one.i want to know if it is possible to mine any Alt coin through it without damaging it? an alt coin which has value or holding of which may be bebeficial

If you want to mine the most profitable coin with your laptop you can try Nicehash miner. Take my advice and don't mine any coin on your laptop. You'll not get any profit at all and the probability of your laptop being damaged/burnt would be pretty high. Try to set a budget for a whole computer system with a good graphics card and GPU mine the altcoins.

MinerGate is just a GUI, not a magic program that actually makes any coin profitable. It's a sure ticket to waste electricity and run more heat in the labtop mining mostly shitcoins.

"Without damaging it" is the key point. A laptop is a computer with a CPU and sometimes a GPU that can mine just like
a desktop CPU or GPU, but they aren't designed to run hard and have inferiour cooling due to the cramped space inside.
At the very least you will shorten its life.

In practical terms a "very basic" laptop is probably useless. It likely doesn't have an upgraded GPU or a competent CPU
for mining. Although you can mine with a 2 core Pentium they don't have some of the advanced features that take advantage
of optimized miners, so CPU mining performance is poor. You really need a core i with the latest tech and more threads to
mine with any kind of efficiency using a CPU.

Just do not bother yourself, no coin is worth mining on a laptop

wouldnt recommend mining using your laptop..  even if your laptop with opencl or cuda operation the heat will warp your motherboard in time

Try to use POS coin on your laptop, might be the only way could make profit with some POS coin.
However, might be just rent and $5 VPS is worth while.

there is no altcoin that you can mined to dont damage your laptop or pc.. it can be still damaging because of using CPU or GPU..
It can make your device hot. the only thing that i can recommend to you better to buy your own rig instead of using your personal laptop or pc..
Or better buy a VPS that has no restricted .
I have a laptop before i tried to mined altcoin without fan my laptop is very hot it can turn into melted laptop if you mined altcoin without fan or cooler..

lol Really overheated, a bad idea for a laptop.

Laptops arent meant to be mined on, And if you do, they will be so slow it will be unusable for anything during mining. Not a good idea.

If you want to break your laptop in no time, find a GPU or CPU coin and mine.

Now really, if you want to mine anything, an USB miner is your chance.
You will have no ROI, but you can mine.

Maybe monero, I've heard that using the Minergate software it may be easy.
