It seems that Preev.com does not work anymore or I am making a mistake??!! In my browser when I open it, it shows a message:
"Heroku | No such app
There is no app configured at that hostname.
Perhaps the app owner has renamed it, or you mistyped the URL."
Do others have similar problem? And can the cause be decreasing price of bitcoin?

definitely it have nothing to do with the current price rate
maybe it's just an internal problem with the database or with the hosting provider and it'll be recovered back soon,there's also similiar site like this,satoshindex.com if i'm not mistaken

I stopped using preev.com the last time it didn't work. bitcoinaverage.com (https://bitcoinaverage.com/#USD) works better. It gives more options including graphs.

I dont know what site to trust. All site have appropriate price so you cant realy know 100% sure whats the price. But i think right now it doesnt matter really much because its a differennce of 1-2 dollar.

The site seems informative, but I think owning a website which announces prices is a power itself.

In big deals 1-2$ can make big profits.

and i would still prefer preev for its simplicity. in terms of trust on the pricing only i think they have the same source for that.

is there still no perfect explaination why it vanished?? will it return?

I'm having the same message as well , but there is nothing to be worried about . They had this kind of issues before and they fixed it , I will assume that they work with https://www.heroku.com/ and they have some issues there (or maybe they just didn't pay or something)

I'm getting the same results mate.
I have no idea why but maybe because the owner transferred it to another domain.
The name wasn't very catchy.

By the way, I find coindesk (http://www.coindesk.com/price/) a good site to look for the price.

I don`t think that this has something to do with the bitcoin price?

Maybe the owner can`t pay the hosting fees can`t make profit from preev.com

Yeah, but preev is more of a currency converter. You don't seem to be able to do that here.

Wouldn't it be better if we check 2 or 3 different big exchanges for price? depending on one creates problem

That's exactly what it does for you and gives you the average.

Preev.com gets the price from different exchanges websites (Bitfinex , Bitstamp , LocalBitcoins and another one I guess , forgot the name)

The site was down even few months back and they started having issues with the price. Sometimes it was below the market price and sometimes higher and hence I shifted to Google price indicator due to the inconsistencies. It will be back soon but I hope they correct those price errors.

Price errors have nothing to do with them as the math is pretty simple (x + y + z ) / 3 . they simply get the average from different exchanges.
Error Itself come from Localbitcoins , they are the ones who have few bugs with the price and since Preev.com connects to their API ... well It gets bugged. (but you can fixed it by unchecking Localbitcoins from preev settings)

It's back working for me now.

It's just a migrated into Preev.net during the preev.com is having issues and in this time preev.com is back alive again.

Do you know how does exchanges exactly determine prices? Is it a pure technical or some opinions of exchanges affect on it?

I just mentioned the method above , It's simply the average price of three exchanges (x + y + z) / 3 . If you check the bottom of http://preev.com/ you will see the "Data" where they explain how do they get the price as well.

Bitcoin price is based on Demand & supply , and exchange defines their rates based on their (Want to sell & Want to buy) requests by users .

This is for the issue on preev site, but it is not created to ask the query. I do think that you are promoting coinkalk with this thread. LOL, am I right mate. Please create a new thread for promoting any project or anything else.

As of now there is no issue preev website. Hope other would take this as today's issue.
