You can obtain SNS in several ways :

1. Currently we are running our first round of beta testing. For every question you ask or answer during beta testing, you will earn 1 proportional stake of 500,000 SNS. Once our first round of testing closes, you will be entitled to an allotment of the 500,000 SNS equal to your proportional question/answer contribution. We will then open a second round of beta testing with the same premise but fewer SNS to be awarded. This gives an advantage to our earliest users. (all tester bounties will be redeemable after the conclusion of our ICO)

2. After all testing is complete, we will run a holders reward protected ICO.

3. Following the ICO, you will be able to trade for SNS on our in both our in-app exchange as well as 3rd party exchanges.

4. Once the final version of Sensus releases, you will be able to earn SNS by participating/providing content within Sensus or any Sense Network mobile app. As the Sense network grows, there will be an increasing number of mobile applications providing various services which you can spend SNS on or be provided SNS for. You will then be able to transfer your SNS between any application on the network and spend them as you see fit, or cash your SNS out from any of the network applications.

Thank you! And yes, that portion of the SNS will be sold by Sensus in the Sense store at stable rates to prevent any liquidity issues. As we intend to break out of just the cryptocommunity, it is essential that the average consumer has easy access to SNS at reasonable rates. Users will be able to buy and sell small, sub 100 amounts of sns from Sensus at this rate each day and forego any macro-level/more sophisticated market concerns. This relatively small amount per day can be thought of as coin creation for new users and non-traders. Larger transactions and trade movements (100+ sns) will be p2p between traders on the exchange. Sensus will at no point sell into existing buy support.

However, Sensus is a community orient application. Depending on the concept's viability in promoting the success of the network and how it is recieved by you, our users, we will either move forward with the this plan or burn the MM reserve.

I would like to highlight that these are not large sell walls. They will not be on the sell orders in the exchange. These coins will be purchase-able in small quantities on a daily basis for users who do not trade or wish to worry about navigating the markets. If the average user comes on and wants $0.50 worth of SNS, they will use the direct-purchase ability to guarantee a very small, but sufficient and reasonably priced amount of SNS to ask their question or two. The purchase rate will not impede the growth or value of SNS. In functionality, you can think of this as coin generation. Similarly to how BTC is mined. The inflation created will not exceed or hinder growth of SNS in any regard, but will allow more for easy access for the average non-trading user.

Again in the event the community disagrees, a better solution is constructed, or initial testing shows this allotment is not needed, it will be burned.

Do you see how that's still a large sell wall regardless of where you put it ? if you say 20% of the coin can be purchased @ $0.50 then regardless of where you sell from the value of investors coins would never go past that $0.50 mark. A better resolution must be achieved, but anyway thanks for responding to these concerns and being cordial.

It is 20% as it must last years to come. Again, it is not a wall sold at the 50 cent mark. It is 50 cents worth of sns sold at a moving, yet reasonable discounted price if you will. Each user will only be  entitled to a few cents worth at this rate per day to ensure all users can ask and participate regardless of market fluctuations. If you dont mind my asking, how would this be any different in affect than staking or mining?

I think the only real question is if 20% is too high of an allocation.

Firstly i don't understand the need for this 20% to be held by you or to be held at all and the convoluted system for it's distribution. the difference between this and mining and staking is that Satoshi Nakamoto doesn't own 20% of bitcoin in perpetuity he had to invest time and mining power to get his coins he didn't just will it to himself when he created bitcoin. also does this mean that Sensus doesn't have a coin production function through mining or staking ?   

Sensus does not require mining as it is a distributed ledger. The alottment serves its function to make sensus accessible to the larger population beyond crypto users. It will be under a contractual agreement, of course. We are open to suggestions. I'd be interested to hear more opinions on the matter.

Excellent question. We do not incentivize node participation as our project is approved by Ripple (formerly Ripple Labs) to build our platform upon their existing infrastructure. With regards to promoting the value of SNS and driving purchases, there are two factors I'd like you to take into consideration:

1. Users pay 1 SNS per answer, not per question. While the numbers aren't set in stone and this is just a hypothetical... If each user is allocated 0.5-2 SNS per day, that is only 0.5-2 answers to one question per day. If a user would like to ask multiple question or receive more than a couple answers, they will need to purchase SNS at full cost. It is my understanding that most users will desire more information than this. Now, you could argue that one would be able to stockpile SNS utilizing this mechanism. My response to that would be, in the event a user chooses to sign-on day after day to earn a penny or two worth of Sense (not even for free, but at a discounted rate), so be it. However, it would be much more simple to purchase a few dollars at once or earn SNS through answering questions.

2. It is important to bare in mind that Sensus is only one application to be built upon the greater Sense Network. Once the network is opened to third party developers, more and more applications, each with their own price point and service provided, will pop into existence. This will continue fueling the demand for SNS beyond answering questions on Sensus alone. Not every one of these services will cost 1 SNS as the price point will be set by the application developer. If a service requires 100 SNS, it would be entirely infeasible (or at minimum irrational) for a user to accrue partially discounted SNS on Sensus for months and transfer these tokens to said third party application all for a menial discount. That being said, If a participant is truly is in a situation in which this is necessary or beneficial for them, I feel this discount is well deserved.

You will receive an allotment for following us on twitter @sensusmobile, and you will also receive SNS for asking or answering questions on the app during this round of testing. Currently, all SNS/USD in the app are valueless test-net currencies. However, once the ICO ends, all test-net currency balances will be erased, and for every question you asked or answered during the beta, you receive 1 proportional stake of the 500,000 true, cash redeemable SNS set aside for beta testers. Depending upon how many people participate in the beta and how much testing we need, we may also run a second testing bounty with a greater allotment of SNS.

Thank you for the support! I wouldn't say the coins is intended for bounty distribution. The bounties don't make up a disproportionately large amount of the total coin count. The reason bounties are emphasized to a certain degree is that it is important to incentive beta tester participation as this is not only a currency, but also a full-fledge social media/mobile application intended for mass appeal. For helping construct this project, users are rewarded fairly.

For now you can use sns for leaving questions and answering question but after ICO ends and the developers release an app with other features like Withdrawn for cash and deposited directly to the user bank account, Reused to ask questions, Traded on the in-app exchange and Transferred to another application on the "Sense Network" .

There's no set time on the end of beta testing yet. It really depends on the feedback we receive from the community to guide development and the amount of issue we encounter.

So I finally gave in and tried installing Sensus from Google Play :).

On one phone, I couldn't install it, the app stayed stuck in the installing phase. When I click on install the download arrow appears and then disappears quickly and the app stays stuck in the installing phase. I stopped the Google Play app, cleared its cache and data, restarted the phone, but nothing seems to work. I was wondering if someone had this issue or if someone knows where to look (log files) to troubleshoot it.

On one other phone, I managed to install Sensus, yay!
I entered the country, the phone number (with no 0) and then a password, however Sensus doesn't like my password, be it only lowercase characters, uppercase, a mix with numbers, special characters, it rejects me with this message:

One last observation is that the sign up page of Sensus is in English whereas connection with Facebook button is in the phone's language. By the way, I didn't try signing up using Facebook.

So for the time being, even after making the sacrifice of using Google Play :P I still can't use Sensus :'(.

The first page you see is a log in page, not a sogn up page. Click "I'm new here" to sign up using your phone

As the first page did ask for the phone number (I would expect a log in page to ask for a username), I thought it was a sign up and I didn't even pay attention to the I'm new here button ... My bad, now I am in ;). Thank you.

Here are some of my first observations. You are probably aware of some and some may be under dev, in this case it would serve as an emphasis ;):

- When I click on profile, there is an edit button, however it doesn't seem to work yet.
- There doesn't seem to be a way to know that a question reached its maximum number of replies. I can click on a question, write an answer and then when I try submitting, it tells me that the maximum has been reached. I find this really inconvenient because one takes the time to write an answer and then they get rejected. We could imagine a specific color for closed question, or a message that pops up when clicking on a closed question saying you can not answer. At least the aswer field shouldn't be there.
- The same could be said for commenting an answer. It seems if you didn't answer the main question you can not comment others' answers, however you know that only after writing your comment and trying to submit it.
- In the settings there are two SAVE buttons, one for Default Question Value and one for Defaut Answers Per Question. Why not make one save button for both?
- When writing an answer I couldn't scroll as long as the keyborad was there ...
- There doesn't seem to be a way to edit or delete an answer.

Well the structure of the ICO is not yet known as it didn't start yet. For now, the bounties are for the beta-testing phase (installing the app and testing it), there is also a bounty for following on Twitter and translating, the other bounties listed on the first post will be available in the future (signature included). For the moment, this is a pre-ICO phase, no investment was requested yet.

I'm having a lot of problems with the app, constant crashing and "something went wrong" messages when I try to pose questions. Also I would like to know how the referral process works.

On a positive note, I believe this idea has a huge amount of potential as a way to organize/compensate survey participants, these coins could be very valuable to people looking to conduct market research or conduct PR campaigns through subtle provocations in question formation.
