Your standard Nazi cat.

Earlier this year, after a British man was arrested for having a Nazi dog, many people were like, “yeah, but where are the Nazi cats?”

Well friends, an Austrian man has found one.

And he’s been jailed for posting a picture of it.

RT:

A Salzburg court has found a 38-year-old Austrian man guilty of posting a selection of Nazi-inspired photos, many with allusions to gassing people, onto social media. One of the images featured a cat raising its right paw in the style of the German fascists.

The grand jury sentenced the man to 18 months, 15 months of which are suspended, for violating the Nazi Prohibition Act by repeatedly posting on the internet around 20 photos and related neo-Nazi slogans.

The Nachrichten.at daily described the images as “extreme right-wing propaganda,” and said they were spiced up by “cynical and dehumanizing slogans.”

“It is not so much about a single photo, but rather an impression of the overall context,” Markus Neher, the Attorney General, noted, APA news agency reported.

The defendant, whose name has not been revealed, pleaded guilty and apologized in court, Nachrichten.at reported.

A house search carried out by police also found items of clothing with Nazi symbols belonging to the man, including the numbers “88” (aka “HH”, an abbreviation for “Heil Hitler”).

The Austrian government may indeed be failed to keep asylum seeking terrorists from raping little boys and girls, but at least they’re dealing with the real threat – Nazi cat pictures on the internet.

Yes, but, the eyes are all wrong.

In America, you can be found guilty of something that government has made illegal. But if nobody accuses you of hurting anyone, you can simply claim that you are not part of the governmental system. Do this in the right way, and government will leave you alone. Why is this?

Government people are recognized as people in America. They don't have to work for government. Because of this, they have taken on the job of hurting a fellow American simply by being a government official, judge, attorney. When you hurt or attempt to hurt your fellow man/woman in America, it is a punishable crime.

The problem is that most Americans don't realize this. If they did, the prisons would be empty, or filled with attorneys and judges instead.

It isn't like this in Austria. In Austria government rules, almost like a dictatorship. So, they can get away with this legally in Austria.

Surprised they didn't jail the cat. Forget about it, this is really a much more serious threat on human rights in conveying something.

This is honestly retarded and this shouldn't have even occurred at all. I really hope the Austrian government goes ahead and notices that this type of human rights violation is just plane dumb. Talk about a government taking a joke and spinning it....

The shades are standard shades. You can get a pair right at the top of your posts as you type them, if you want.

Nazi = Not see.

what odds if this were a korean being locked up for having the wrong photos/posters/ politics you'd both be condemning the dprk for totalitarianism and human rights violations

Nono your right, it's wrong to jail him for posting his opinion about anything. Free speech is important and humour is important too, immjewish and I laughed when I saw the cat and it's cute.

However also needs to be said that there are things people are sensitive about. Like if you suggest terrorism in America or if you suggest nazism is Austria or if you insult the prophet Mohamed in Islamic countries.

Freedom of speech is still correct and should always be maintained and I agree with you.
But if you make jokes about nazism in Austria your tempting fate just like making terrorist jokes at the us border or Muslim jokes in Syria

Norbert Hofer is about to become the Austrian president in a few months time. These ridiculous laws will be scrapped by him.

Thats funny lol.
Well, i guess he did something wrong or against their law. Thats why he was jailed. After all, its just for entertainment. Stop living in the past. This is crazy, so when you immitate the face of a Nazi? You will be jailed? What if thats your natural look? They gonna shoot in the head? Crazy rulers. Lol.
This is crazy than North Korea. They will kill you if you have a bible.

I don't know if it's crazier than North Korea. Austria and Germany still have people living there who were in the nazi regime (there in old folks homes and nearly dead) it's a reminder that it wasn't that long ago. I agree this particular incident goes way too far as these are just photos of animals and that's funny and also kind of art.

However, the country had to do its due dilligence to make sure these destructive social groups did not rise to power again.

Not sure what to say here accept it can be appropriate at times to watch your mouth and post ww2 Europe was probably one of those times and places and why these laws got passed

All the guy was doing was trying to remind the people of Hitler, so they could get upset enough to throw their present Nazi government into prison where they belong. Can you blame the Nazi government for trying to cover this up?

It's good of Australian thought police to maintain the public peace so diligently.

Stupid laws. All they do is bring more attention to this sort of thing. Which gets more people to participate: catsthatlooklikehitler.com you fight this with education and common sense. Not censorship.

It's good of Australian thought police to maintain the public peace so diligently.

Wrong side of the planet.

So that what a nazi cat looks like, I think its pretty cute.  I wish I could see also a nazi dog because I love them both.   ;)

I never knew that there is a law prohibiting people of whatever country it is to post anything related to Nazi.  Thanks for the additional knowledge.  Do this man knew something about that rule or law that bans the posting of anything related to Nazi?  Maybe their government should warn or always reminds everyone as to what is legal thing to post.  But of course, was there a need for it?  We are all grown ups!

Truly shocking. He was posting a silly and fun photo and being prison. Meanwhile, real criminals, who rape and kill, are sentenced to minimum term or even to house arrest. What an iniquitous world!

True!  I agree with you to think that it was only a cat with black fur that reminds to the guy that it seems like a nazi image.  And besides, what is wrong in posting that picture.  Maybe he really loves cat and just amaze on the special image of the cat.  And I do not think that it would start another holocaust just by posting that thing.
