Title: Bitcointalk Username change without being a donator or staff?
Post by: Joel_Jantsen on August 15, 2016, 08:45:09 AM
Hi,we all know ndnh (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=146601) had a username "ndnhc" iirc. Not sure where the "c" exactly was but I do remember it was part of his bitcointalk username.Recently, his username is changed to "ndnh".How ? He is not a donator neither a staff, how did he get the privileges to change his username ? As far as I know there are very few cases of username change and they only apply when one becomes a mod or a donator.

Occasionally admins will do it but it's rare. Changing a username minimally like that is more likely to happen than a complete name change though as it's less risky, but I wouldn't even expect to get a response if others start asking them to change theirs. Have you tried asking ndnhc why he changed it?

To change your name you either donator/vip or you are friend of theymos or important member.

I tried quoting his posts and asking him in the sportsbets.io thread where he seems to post recently.Although many users have asked him the same in that thread ,he never bothered to reply.

Well those posts will be off topic so he shouldn't, but if you want a question answered to something like this then the logical thing to do would be to PM him.

Thanks for deleting it anyway :) I didn't send him a PM because it was nothing as personal to be discussed and thought I shouldn't be bothering him that way.I'm sure he  posts quite often in Meta and we should we getting an answer soon.

Does that explain anything logically ? I'd like to know how did he get it changed ? Did he pay 5BTC for it ? Or how did he convince theymos to change it for him ?

New decentralized nuclear hobbit currency :D

Why removed C? Hahaha

It was New decentralized nuclear hobbit coin. Some people started mistaking me for a coin, so I thought it is better if I remove the 'coin' part. (logical explanation)

I requested a one time permanent username change to ndnh. I wouldn't call that a username change because it just took a letter off my username. You can identify me, and my new username is identical to my previous.

I don't think that is a big deal to start a thread. :P

Blazed was Blazedout419.

May be mods deleted the posts before I saw them? I don't think we are supposed to discuss all that in a sportsbook's thread lol. You could have just PM'd me.

He may be a secret donator I guess.

could be. ;D

ndnhc is a pretty highly trusted account, he's been here a long time, managed sig campaigns which proves he can be trusted with other peoples money etc.

I mean look at his trust comments/feedback.

I think theymos is more likely to be willing to help posters like ndnh(c) than lower ranked members who haven't proven themselves.
