That is insane!  Maybe I will exchange some of it into cash and buy some stocks and mutual fund.  I will use it to gain more profit to secure my life, my retirement.  I will use my bitcoin to work for me to achieve and have more income.  I will put it to investment sites and do some trading.

You don't have to worry because it won't be going $10K. It probably won't reach $1k again unless some pumper pump it up and then crash it.

if the price of 1 Bitcoin is equivalent to 10,000 USD then I will sell all bitcoin I have. then I will buy a house for my life along with my little family.
I want happy people I love. it would be very meaningful.

If the price of bitcoin is going to fluctuate to $10,000 then I'm going to be happiest person alive. And I'm going to buy my own house, own car and my own business to start out because that is really going to be a big amount and the holding what I am doing is really going to be worth it at all. And maybe going to buy some of my pleasures.

First of all, I don't think prices will go to that high in near future. This is just based on my thinking, and if go to that level, I will convert all my bitcoins to fiat and invest in some other places. I'm not so greedy so from the current level to 10000$ is excellent appreciation so I will sell all my coins. Yes, if prices go that high then mining may be profitable business to consider.

this is duplicate and to be honest a pointless topic.
because bitcoin price will never reach 10,000 USD per coin and even if that is possible then it would only happen in more than 20+ years and pointless to talk about it now.

but the rise part is what i agree upon. the price will start going up after this short down time period.

I would pay off some of my debt and then breath a little bit easier every money, by having my debt recalculated and having a smaller debt repayment every month. I have been trying to do this for years now, but as soon as I get some sort of bonus, one of the appliances break down and I have to replace it or something happens with the house. ^hmmm^

Like someone said here before, " We are like little rats in a wheel, slaves to the fiat system. "

It's not wrong to dream but maybe it will not happen in the next few years. I can remember when the block halving was there a lot of people expected a hugh price increase what didn't happen. The last coins will be mined in the year 2140 things will be more valuable if they don't get created anymore. So possible you see each year a little price increase and can it take years before you hit the $10 000.

https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Help:FAQ#How_long_will_it_take_to_generate_all_the_coins.3F (https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/Help:FAQ#How_long_will_it_take_to_generate_all_the_coins.3F)
Quote
How long will it take to generate all the coins?
The last block that will generate coins will be block #6,929,999 which should be generated at or near the year 2140. The total number of coins in circulation will then remain static at 20,999,999.9769 BTC.
Even if the allowed precision is expanded from the current 8 decimals, the total BTC in circulation will always be slightly below 21 million (assuming everything else stays the same). For example, with 16 decimals of precision, the end total would be 20,999,999.999999999496 BTC.

The same thing that took place in the winter of 2013 would happen again. People would sell all, and the price will then fall.. If it would reach $10k, buying & saving would be the best idea for the price to keep rising.

My answer is not different from the rest here,i will sell most of my coins and buy a house or a new car, unfortunately i don't have enough so i  can quit my job.
But $10,000 USD per coin is insane and i don't think it will happen soon, who knows maybe Bitcoin will reach this price in 100 years from now when none of us will be alive.

Feels like heaven!  I would sell some of it and encash it.  Try to buy shares from stocks and find a mutual fund which can help to rapidly grow my money.  I would of course taste the sweet fruit of earning bitcoins and buy some thing that would always remind me of the great thing happened in my life.  Only if I have bitcoins.  Hope that I will get atleast one of it when it reaches that price.

Well , I think it's like a dream if that event comes true. But in past 2 years , we have seen about the price was up until $1000 but for $10k i think it's extremely hard to risk . If that happened , i will sell it and making offline shop in my home for getting stable income.

Actually it will hard to happen to that price it's very high , another question is if the price goes to $10,000 who will buy it? Need some buyers to make it move higher , and every one of us want to buy cheap but not in high price.

How can anyone say BTC will never be worth $10k? If BTC can be adopted more and regarded as an alternative store of wealth by mainstream investors. Then the price will certainly grow.

I am sure the majority of the people would have already sold their coins between the $1000-$2000 levels. But just for the sake of answering this question directly. I would cash out probably 25-50% of my total coin count. This is assuming I keep holding the coins that I have now till that price level.

if the price were rising fast i guess they won't,the one which makes people selling their coin massly is a price falling which will make them panic and at the end it will become panic selling, they'll keep holding until it reach the peak and the price falling little bit,it's the rightest time i guess

Again I would be dead :( Too much 'joy' for my brittle heart if such a price would come to be with 100 btc in my hoard)

By the by when I had 1-10 BTC I was a lion for bravery in 2013-2014.
Buying equipment. Drinking the kool aid etc. Nothing fazed me.

Now with 100 BTC I sit around saying 'my precious' and spend most of my time going WTF is going on in the crypto world as my cowardice increases.

hmmm...more to lose now I guess (kool aid wore off damn it) :(

I kinda understand you, but it also depends on the price you have been buying the majority of your coins at. If your average buying price sits far below the current market price, then there is not much to worry about. At this point the coins that I hold in cold storage have an average buying price of around $180-$200 which makes it quite easy for me to talk about being calm and everything. May I know what your average buying price is?

I mined mine using Titan scrypt miners.Actually got some more from the KNC bankruptcy. So I'm about 35k since 2013 in elec and equip and such for that 100 btc. The new equip
I scored should pay off 11.4k by Dec 15th. Thus I plan on sitting on the 100 btc and now it looks like I may be able to mine till End of Life on these machines and get down to (or close to) ZERO in any costs towards the 100 btc I'm sitting on now. I mean any $$$ of the remaining 25k or so I shoot towards NON-BTC related stuff....I can claim it knocks down my real
investment in BTC. Thus hopefully 100 BTC free and clear by end of life of my Titan Scrypt miners in total (3300mh)

Cowardice however increases on the above strategy :(

added:

So to sum up ...if

1) btc goes up I'm golden

2) btc acts like a traditional stock investment and goes sidways say 5 to 7% a year up...also ok

3) btc goes beanie baby ..well I'm even

thus is the plan as it is now....sounds mighty nice when people ask me how much money I lost in BTC since 2013 I tell them I have 100
and (before new miners) 25k invested. It should sound even nicer if/when I say 100 btc in the hoard and have ZERO in it anymore. All profit :)

So yeah I'm probably in the 200 range of BTC so ahead of the game on top of the above

I can't say that it won't happen because nothing is impossible. Who knows, right? It may be just a matter of time. What I'm hoping is that, if ever it happens, I am still alive and I still have bitcoin in my wallet. If so, I would love to spend 3/4 of it with my family/friends and for our future. The rest will be left on my wallet for bitcoin transactions/savings.

All with all, you're in a very comfortable position. Having that said, if you keep holding your coins (if you're still alive :P), then you'll become an absolute elite in the Bitcoin world with that many coins. Especially when you consider that the majority of the people have cashed out their coins as the high prices are too tempting for them to resist.

Maybe  its possible to reach that price but the big question is when?  maybe it would reach that  amount for 20 years i guess since as of today we didnt even reach or surpass the $700 mark after the halving event. In that time  if it reaches that  amount then i would cash out all of my coins exchange to fiat and buy my own house , and made an investment.

It depends on the economy and the reason for the price to be at such levels.

If fiat is nearly worthless and Bitcoin reaches a price of $10K, then what will it say about the value of Bitcoin?

If the economy stays like it is right now, and fiat is not worthless, then I'll sell a coin or 2 or 3 and keep holding the rest.

$10,000 per coin, I'd sell about 75% of my stash. I wouldn't care if it rocketed a year or two later, at $10,000 per coin I wouldn't be able to risk cashing in.

I'd still have 25% left for a future moon trip.

I'd contact one of the business idiots that routinely buy bulk Bitcoin at the US auctions. I'd sell every coin I have to them for cash. I'd hire a tax attorney to figure out my best option for paying capital gains tax to keep as much of the profit as I can. I'd use the money to buy real estate in San Francisco.

Then I'd sit around and wait for MtGox v.2 announcement price crash telling everyone about the exchange that artificially pumped the price through the roof.

i will secure profits for obvious reasons, but i can't just send the money that i get from selling my coins to my bank account as the amount will be too large. i am sure it will lead the bank to freeze my balance prior to the investigation they need to do. especially if the money comes from a bitcoin exchange. i need to play it smart and most likely need to send small amounts to my bank account in order to not raise any alarms from the bank.

Still do the same thinng, use bitcoin to gain  more bitcoin.  I haven't holding BTC for some reason.  First is that i don't buy Bitcoiin, I work for it so basically I am into spending it whenever I'm interested on some online item.  Second I don't let Bitcoin be idle to my stash.  I'd rather  have it use to produce more profit to me and lose than let it sit in mmy stash for a long time.

$10,000 is really high and it may take decades to reach and i am even not sure if i will have any bitcoin in my wallet by that time. If i have than i will sell 50% of my holding or even not sell any if i was not in need of cash.

in fact we will immediately sell when the price hits $1,000.

but if when that happens, I will be working hard to make extreme trade, to earn a lot of profit in a short time.

Honestly I wouldn't be too happy. Don't get me wrong I hope it will happen one day but not until I'm ready for it to happen. :)

What do you mean buy bulk at US auctions?

Search for auctions on the forum and you'll see a bunch of people that buy large quantities of bitcoin.  I don't trust the exchanges so I wouldn't sell that much at an exchange.

Exactly, that value seems to be hard to achieve in next 10 to 15 years, as its too high to expect from bitcoins and if it touches that price then everyone will get rich with bitcoins.

That is insane!  Maybe I will exchange some of it into cash and buy some stocks and mutual fund.  I will use it to gain more profit to secure my life, my retirement.  I will use my bitcoin to work for me to achieve and have more income.  I will put it to investment sites and do some trading.
I don't think we're going anywhere near $10K anytime soon.  And even if it did hit that mark tomorrow, I still don't own enough to start rolling like a pimp.  If it hit 10K, I would be lamenting the fact that I was too stupid to buy everything I could whilst the price was $570.  That much is certain.

Stocks are kinda high right now, and I'm not sure if I made a bundle that I'd put any more money into them.  I would buy land if I had enough money, and prepare for the zombie apocalypse that's coming any day now. *hoping*

We all know that it's not going to go that high in 1 night , so as it rises in price so many would sell theirs thinking it might never go that high again and later they will regret it, and I think bitcoin will be that much of a high price when usually only a few people own hundreds or thousands, when  millions of people each have a portion of it and millions are asking for it.

But if bitcoin ever reached that level, it would take a long time for its price to rise that high but it’s already over a half of 1000$ for 1 BTC so there is a high possibility that it will happen. Until then, I’ll save as much bitcoin as I can so when it reaches that stage, I’ll sell a half of it to use and the rest I’ll continue saving it because if it can go that high, it can go further.

not even close, the ceiling is more like a couple of million, but i doubt it will ever hit that.

though, $10,000 should be easily reached, and sooner than you think.

even $100,000 should be very easy.

Bitcoin will either fail or reach way above $10,000

and it doesn't look like it is failing, because if it would fail, it would have failed a thousand times by now.

nothing. if it can reach that price then that means the rest of the world is catching on and it's only gonna grow from there. right now there is effectively no adoption at all. it only takes a small amount of freaks to keep the price as it is.

Thats more a dreal then a realistic price, atleast at the next years bitcoin isnt expected to reach such value, i would risk 1000 dollars at 2020, now maybe the price can be affected by the new megaupload project. If bitcoin hit those value i would dump my coins, finish the loan i have and for sure put part of the money into saving and spend with family other part as well.

If one day it happens many will be pleasantly surprised, but I think it is quite unrealistic to expect something like that in the near future. If that were to happen many would probably sell all or most of their coins and the price would be go down very fast.

I personally would sell part of my BTC and other part I saved in case that one day BTC worth much more then 10k $ :)

Well it cant be that bitcoin is today at 600$ and you woke up and it reaches suddenly to 10,000 $. This will happen gradually and it can take more than a decade to happen.
It could happen one day if there was a massive run on Bitcoin from governments and wealthy investors everywhere, but some event like that is incredibly unlikely and thus it would basically be a useless scenario to consider. Chances are it'll take far more than a decade to reach $10,000, but I guess it is possible that it could reach it within the next 16-24 years. Depending on how the halvings change the price.

Yeha it it's true, but more than that, bitcoin can reach prices of $ 10 k because of the growth of the bitcoin is very high and the market movements that extraordinary high. Make the bitcoin became limited and everyone wants to get it, that's the thing that could happen in the future. With the total number of bitcoin very little compared to internet users around the world who will become a weapon to increase extraordinary bitcoin

i agree with you but it will be take too much longer time that bitcoin price reach to 10,000$ because 10,000$ is very high price i hope it will be happen in the future if a huge number of people adopt the bitcoin in huge amount.

I would sell maybe 50%. But honestly, if bitcoin ever got that high, it would be because of hyperinflation. :( The sad sad truth.

Bitcoin would be worth an ounce of gold (today USD 1.3k, but predicted to be at USD 10k by James Rickards). I would be buying farmlands. Why? If it happened, I would be in a world where the USD is much depreciated and means almost nothing. A total catastrophe.

If that happens, I'll continue holding my coins. I'm pretty sure the coin will still move higher in the future. If bitcoin's price increase up to 10,000USD per coin, then that means a lot of people have invested in Bitcoin and the scarcity of the coin has begun.
If I don't hold onto my coins at that time, I think it will be because the price of Bitcoin is moving a lot and I have started my journey of trading and playing with the price fluctuations.

Crying in my beer, crying in my sleep.  But that's a big 'what if'.  Right now I'm focusing on earning enough IRL to actually buy enough coin so that IF the day comes when bitcoin is $10,000, I can see about buying a farm with enough seeds and space for a nuclear fallout shelter, and I'll commence prepping for the end.  After that, it's going to be all about guns, precious metals, pharmaceuticals, and medical skills.

But yeah, till then I'm still loving bitcoin.  :)

You don't have to worry because it won't be going $10K. It probably won't reach $1k again unless some pumper pump it up and then crash it.

No actually we dont know if it will happen but what if it will happen in the future? But for me the 50% of it i will used it to buy something and the remaining 50% i will keep it, invest and to gain more profit.

Even that is going to be a slow thing that the price of bitcoin is going to fluctuate at that price. Still let's hope for that to happen. And if that is going to happen I am going to invest for buying house and lots. Because here in my country the longer it is passing by the price of lot is appreciating that's why I am going to invest in it.

i agree that it is not going to get there ever and this whole question is sort of pointless.
but also i said this because of the same thing you said here, it will take a long time (a slow rise) and so i would sell for profit and use the fluctiontions and the dips to buy back more or even the same amount and keep the profit.

sure, it is always a nice thing if you get some unexpected money and if it is a large sum even more. but 100 * $10 000 is just 1 Million dollars. Today this is not that much and first of all you need to have the 100 BTC, which is not easy.

If bitcoin reaches $10k, especially any time soon, that would mean the bubble burst and the US dollar crashed. Which could happen either intentionally by the federal reserve, or because those of us that are American citizens finally got smart, banded together and finally toppled that private bank.

I think if bitcoin will moved above $10.000 USD per coin it will bring the economic collapse. Many bitcoin holders will try to cash out their money to not skip such good chance to get rich. How many users of bitcoin now? There is no so much money in the world to satisfy that interest. So I hope bitcoin will not rise too much.

You have a point, if Bitcoins price would reach $10k then maybe all large Bitcoin holders for sure would sell all their Bitcoin holdings and which causes to dump again Bitcoin to lower price thinking that price is the peak but as you said some still believe to go much higher price than that.

Depending on the reasons for the value moving up to $10,000, I might either exchange what Bitcoin I do have right then and there, or I might choose to continue holding if there is a reason for the rise that stems primarily from outside of the Bitcoin market; namely a scenario such as a dollar collapse or whatever causing people to try and have their assets survive in whatever way possible.

Your idea is great and I really mean it. Giving your money to the ones who really need it is quite important at least for me, and in my thought having such that much money (100 BTC with 10,000$ for each BTC is definitely an unbelievable amount of money) and spending it without doing some charity works will surely make me feel guilty and that’s not a good feeling.

Moreover, when you give away something, you’ll be given back something. Therefore, I would prefer helping the people around me before I decide to buy something for me with that huge bunch of bitcoin.

I think would sell a portion of it, and then hold the rest until I have a need to convert it into fiat money. I doubt it will really reach 10k value per bitcoin within the next years, but I personally feel like if it could, then it'll be close to hitting its price ceiling. So, of course, I'd sell a good portion to hedge my bets on the price falling in the near future.

yeah it will take long time to achieve that price and there is no surety that it will happen, and I don't think people have patience to hold their coins till that point of time.

Something big thing certainly has a very complicated obstacles and only those who have patience and determination, which will get it all. It does something that is impossible to accomplished, but what of his difficult to view and save a fraction of btc owned awaiting it..?
thats true though i really doubt that it is not going to actually be too bad for us and i think that it is going to be growing a lot in the future

Then with that I will be millionaire and with that I will start to buy every need of life to spend a luxurious life and will start a bigger business and at that time I will have enough money to start any factory of any product.

At that point Bitcoin will be too strong to fall, some people may think is the top, but a lot other people think 100.000+ can be achieved in the next 10 years.

You have a point, if Bitcoins price would reach $10k then maybe all large Bitcoin holders for sure would sell all their Bitcoin holdings and which causes to dump again Bitcoin to lower price thinking that price is the peak but as you said some still believe to go much higher price than that.

I think if we don't sell our coins at the price of $10k then that would be the worst decision to make as after that price may dump extremely and would take long time to pump again.
you are right that wouldnt be a good thing to do because the price would be dumped most probably after a such huge growth

Haha, bitcoin will not have a price of $ 10 k in the growth of the bitcoin is still very slow and don't have a reasonably good growth. Bitcoin can be pegged the price of $ 10 k in user bitcoin is 50% of the world population, because I see that the stock is very little compared to bitcoin 50% of the world population.

Yes and we should not miss the opportunity to make huge profits by selling at that price in order to make profits, as major pump will be followed by major dump which will allow us to buy it again.

I would sell some of my Bitcoin of course so that I can make some money. Then after I have sold them I would go out and buy my self a new motorcycle.
Or maybe even a car if I can earn Bitcoin then maybe a nice car.

Yes if bitcoin reaches to that level then I will prefer to sell all my coins that I would be holding in my wallet, as not selling with that price and holding them will be a really bad decision to make.

Well we have almost the same plan if the price of bitcoin is going to reach $10,000. But for me I am going to buy first my own small house that is going to be good enough for me. Even though that is not that too big as long as it can be a good place to have a rest and sleep that is enough for me. And next would be my own car so that I can go everywhere I want.

if bitcoin price is more than $10.000 USD i will sell all my coin and then change it to fiat, then i will use the money to open shop and buy a car and i will try my best to earn more coin so i can spend more coin, because if bitcoin is moved toward that number its going to be once in a life time to get rich with bitcoin

Everyone will prefer to sell all their coins in order to make huge profits, but I think its not easy to reach there in quick time and it may take more than a decade to achieve that price.

If the price of bitcoin reached $10.000 USD, i will sell all my bitcoins directly. Because, $10,000 USD for each coin is really huge. With that money i can earn much money from the exchange.

That is insane!  Maybe I will exchange some of it into cash and buy some stocks and mutual fund.  I will use it to gain more profit to secure my life, my retirement.  I will use my bitcoin to work for me to achieve and have more income.  I will put it to investment sites and do some trading.

Personally I would not sell all of my bitcoins at $10,000 rate, of course that it is a huge profit comparing with the current price but who knows maybe the price could go even higher and I would expect a much higher profit. The community will grow by that time and the cloud mining services will probably end because of the amount they could lose.

The exchange sites are going to be the buyers of it and they are going to sell it again for those people who still doesn't have bitcoins at higher rate. So the cycle is just going to keep on rolling in bitcoin. And if new investors are going to like bitcoin for sure they are willing to invest their fiat money and going to buy a lot of bitcoins.

Yeah right those exchange site will hold it if all people are selling their bitcoin.. and they are waiting for new user or holders for bitcoins..
Honestly i couldn't imagine that the price will hit at 10k value but every thing is possible with bitcoin and it takes a long time before it happens..

Forget owning bitcoins, people will buy Sats. And if they've lucky they may be able to afford a whole bitcoin.
Just like when people invest in Gold, they don't have to buy a whole fucking bullion.

if the price of 1 Bitcoin is equivalent to $ 10,000 then I would say this is crazy so crazy .. :D maybe if I own one bitcoin when the price is now $ 600 I'll sell it if the price of $ 10,000 later :) I would get a big advantage: D

Well for sure no one will going to buy whole bitcoin if the the price is going to reach $10,000. Maybe I can just afford to buy 0.001 by that time because that is the only amount I am able to invest. But for sure if that price is going to happen with bitcoin many bitcoin people are going to get rich easily for just doing nothing but by holding.

I would jump jump and jump in happiness. Because I have 0.3btc which i bought at the rate of $500 and if I get to sell at the rate of $10000 then I will have 20 times profit which is enough for me to get a 16gb ram and a hard disk for my new gaming beast from asus.

Good question and a simple answers, will sell mostly all of them and keep only a small part for fun and with a hope that bitcoin price will go even much higher than $10,000. Never thought about this because this large price is only a dream for now.

I'm with you on this one, no way I would wait for the price to reach even higher. I mean you gotta spend your Bitcoins sometime right? What's the point of growing your money if you're not gonna use it? I'd convert all my Bitcoins to dollars and go on a cruise of a lifetime or maybe I'll buy a nice car or maybe.. well I'm not exactly sure yet what I would do but I definitely would do something with my Bitcoins   ;D

I think they will still run a signature campaign but they will reduce the payouts for sure, as if price goes to that level then that doesn't mean that they will stop advertising their campaigns.

If bitcoin price moved to 10k usd the first thing that I will do is selling all of my avaiable coins and then wait for the price to move down to buy it again. I will spend my whole day to hunt free btc from faucet, giveaways etc to collect another satoshi since every single satoshi will be very valuable if the price at 10k usd or more!

Yeah and even at this stage we cannot afford to miss any opportunity to earn free bitcoins as we never know how higher it can go in future and saved coins will be holding more value in future.
