Bootstrap (Updated 9/8/2017):

https://www.dropbox.com/s/9qxac5smqgjznsk/bootstrap.dat?dl=0

Usage: extract bootstrap.dat into data directory (for Windows go to "run" and type in %appdata% and find SPP-Coin folder), remove blkindex.dat and blk0001.dat. When you fire up your QT wallet, it will automatically detect the bootstrap and begin to work. Bootstrapping may take an hour or two depending on the machine, please be patient, the bootstrap happens from the splashscreen, and clicking on it while bootstrapping may cause it to quit.

No mining pools?

I suppose there could be a PoS pool for this coin... Nothing to mine.
Save your hashes for the other coins you're currently mining.   :)

I can assure you that isn't the case..
I personally had 2 USB sticks attached to a rasp pi 2 that uses a cell phone charger cord to mine, and they aren't running anymore..

ico coin? what is the price

Read ANN page again. The price of one SPP is mentioned there. It is 100 sats per SPP. A .1 BTC will get you 100000 SPP. I have no +- comments now for this project. Just watching.

There weren't any coins set aside for bounties, however...
During the testing of the wallet and chain there were 8,496 coins that were minted. (Continuing to go up until more connections are established and coins are distributed)

We could definitely use those!

Edit: In case anyone is wondering.. The main wallet has a reserve balance of 40,000,000 so only 2 million are staking currently.

5% first year? then increas. but other POS coin first year very high, then decreas.
next year 7% is the coin must keep in wallet more than one year or from the seconde year the pos profit is 7%?

That is correct.  If you hold the coins in your wallet, the 2nd year will see 7% interest.

Great news everyone!  44 BTC is no longer needed to fully fund the project.. We're now down to 28 BTC!  That certainly makes things a LOT easier!

Why don't you need 44 BTC now? How 28 BTC is enough for you? I think you're not using any escrow facilities to collect ICO. Also SPP is not visible to much more people. What made you think to reduce your ICO fund needs?

Maybe they feel their goal was too high or maybe they already found some outside investment. I asked because I'd like to know and I'm still waiting like you are.

The federal government has tax incentives that will be issued, and the utility company also offers annual bonus incentives.

And so far there was an early investor that has contributed 2 BTC.

No escrow services are being used for a couple different reasons:
1.) Other coins have recently successfully launched using this method.
2.) C-Cex could host an ICO, but that costs 4 BTC to do.  We're not opposed to it, but we'd have to raise an additional 4 BTC.  Also, with that the coin would be listed on the market and prone to pump and dumps. And we don't want people to be calling fowl, and upset with us.  Once there is more of a community, and they WANT to be on an exchange... then.. OK.

The incentives list will have a couple more items on it as well.. There are other listed coins that offer their coins based on the output of the solar panel system!

It definitely could.. there have been some bounty ideas bounced around, so those coins would be removed from the ICO pool.

How about this... First 10 unique wallets get 10,000 SPP?
Send me a PM (once you're connected) with your address.
This reward is to help establish connections to the network.

EDIT: COMPLETED!!!!

I had thought the same thing for a while, and searched and searched.. I found that someone had done a project like this in Africa I think it was, and all these other green coins that came out are doing nothing or very little to actually build a system.  There are some that reward people for building systems, which we can then implement with this system!

Good project thoughts. Since you have launched the wallet you would have raised your needed investments. If not, organize some campaigns to get better visibility. Also, use escrow to raise funds if it would be good.

Actually we are using the wallet to raise funds.. ICO.  Need to have a wallet with coins to do that..  ;D
Working on visibility every day!
And there was already a post about an escrow service.

What O/S are you using? The only way the wallet should be using 100% CPU is if you're trying to mine with it using 4 threads.  Mining isn't necessary..

I will set the reservebalance higher so the network difficulty drops a little bit.  Once more connections have been established, and more coins have been distributed, the main wallet can stop staking all together.

100 sats per coin.  100% of the ICO funds will be used to construct this system.  The system will have it's benefits/incentives that will be used to buy back the coins that were sold during the ICO.  Other coins that offer incentives for having systems will also be utilized for benefits.  Basically, this is a coin that actually will be doing something with the invested funds instead of just scamming people like many of the recently released coins.

Ok when you say benefits and incentives, what do these consist of? Is it something like fixed prices for coin buybacks, or are they payments made from some government incentive program for installing solar panels?

Also, what is the energy generated by the panels going to be used for? Just sent back to the grid?

Thanks!

The original idea was to release 44,000,000 coins at 100 sats each to raise 44 BTC.  This would have fully funded the entire project.  The federal government offers a tax incentive for people that want to go solar (expiring in Dec. last time I read).  The utility company also offers rebates and incentives.  These would have been collected at tax time and immediately used to start the buy-back process... If the project would have been fully funded by investors.
On a monthly (and annual basis) the utility company offers incentives for the power generated to go onto the grid.  These incentives will be used to buy back the coin... of course the buy back can't begin until the system is up and running and these incentives come in.

There are also other coins out there (and they are on the market) that offer their coins to a user based on the solar power generated by their systems.  We can totally use these as well for incentives to the users of SPP!

On a monthly (and annual basis) the utility company offers incentives for the power generated to go onto the grid.  These incentives will be used to buy back the coin... of course the buy back can't begin until the system is up and running and these incentives come in.

So the incentives offered by the utilities and some gov't agencies is some kind of payment, they cut you a check in exchange for sending power to the grid?

Where is the panel going to be installed? How much power will be generated per year when the system is finished?

Seems like a good idea just trying to get my head around the details.

Thanks!

The government rebate comes during tax time.
The utility incentives come in a form of a check for supplying power to the grid.
The system details are on the main page.

The government rebate comes during tax time.
The utility incentives come in a form of a check for supplying power to the grid.
The system details are on the main page.

i don't a potential in investing in your coin dev. Your coin has lack of information regarding your plans and development.
a friendly advice. make some creative roadmap about your coin development. i will invest once i see what i want to see to your project. Goodluck!

Have you read the OP, and read through the thread? I would say all of the information that can be given at this time has been. I cannot supply an installation date of the system because only 2 BTC of the 28 needed has been received.

Is there something else I can try to answer for you?

Had to close the wallet and open it then unlock it for minting.
Now it's OK and minting!

Great! Thanks for this. Will it be linked into your home system, or dedicated solely to sending power back to the grid? If so, will there be any additional costs associated with setting up that bypass?

You mentioned the government rebate ends in December. Am I understanding correctly that this will be a one time tax write off that reduces the cost of the initial setup of the system?

Can you give or link to some more information regarding the rates these incentive programs offer? I'm guessing this depends heavily on the state the system will be installed in, so can you let us know what state you're in so I can do some research regarding this?

Thanks!

It has to be linked to the home system.  The utility company will only pay a certain production amount.  What amount that is EXACTLY? I don't know.  The solar company said this was the largest system that can be used, or we'll get nothing..

You are correct about the government rebate except it doesn't reduce the cost of the system.  They will reimburse 30% at tax time.

I found the utility company yearly incentive. It's $671 every year for 10 years. Plus the production incentive mentioned above on a monthly basis.

Could you provide a link to where you found the yearly incentive from the electric company, and let us know what state this system will be installed in?

Do you have any plans for moderating your power usage - basically, how do we know the power generated by the system won't just end up being used on your home's personal energy consumption?

It wasn't a link, it was part of the document that had information about the system.  I'm located in Minnesota.

The 2nd question is kinda a toughie to answer in the sense it will probably confuse people.. but I will try to explain.

The system was designed to over-produce from what we consume on an average basis.  But we can only over-produce so much.  So, if we cut our usage dramatically, that will actually negate any benefits.  Does that make any sense?

Somebody on here was talking about me using the power for mining.. I'm mining nothing. I don't have a miner capable of achieving anything.. haha

ICO on C-Cex will attract traders and other kinds of speculators, leading to your coin being used for pumps and dumps (do you really want it?). Alternatively, if you don't want to put it on C-Cex, you may end up with little interest from people here. You have to choose :).

If the investment security is a concern, you would better hire a trusted escrow, than list on C-Cex, because: a) it would be cheaper; b) c-cex is often associated with scam coins and pump'n'dumps, and many honest people avoid using it (this reputation is NOT well-deserved in my opinion, but it is there anyway).

The original idea was to release 44,000,000 coins at 100 sats each to raise 44 BTC.  This would have fully funded the entire project.  The federal government offers a tax incentive for people that want to go solar which country does this project covers?

Yes. In a nutshell that's what it is. A loan that will have a buyback option.  What's the point of many of the other coins? We're actually building a system that will make money.. so this is an asset coin.

For those of you that got the free coins by being one of the 10 wallets, you can definitely be getting stakes!!!!

I have completely shut off the main wallet from staking, and I'm monitoring the block chain.  So far, so good!
As I had posted earlier, I had set a reserve balance in the wallet to only be staking a small fraction of the total amount to keep the chain moving.

Talks with C-Cex are moving along, and I hope the ICO can be started real soon.. As in.. within 24 hours.

I just want to warn everybody before it happens.. DO NOT sell under 100 sats if you choose to buy in there vs. just doing it here.

There WILL be a buyback program starting at minimum 100 sats (so if you staked, you're already at profit!)

This is what this coin should be.

To encourage solar use solar panels will be what mines the coin although you can use your PC too think of solar panels as asic. If more people buy solar panels we can help reduce some of the destruction to the environment. Then you can freely trade your coin as usual. A slight pos might be nice say 10% per year or 5% or 15%

We've had some more movement lately, and that's awesome!
There have been buys on the exchange, and so far I've put .3 towards the C-Cex voting.

Keep voting, and we will make it!  (The bounty for additional votes have been raised to 100).  Send me a PM once you have voted!

For every purchase (this weekend only) of 100,000 SPP, we will be rewarding the buys with an additional 10,000!!!

All bounties will be paid out on Sunday. (If not sooner) In order to receive the bonuses, we will need to see the coins on the explorer, so it will be suggested to move the purchased coins off the exchange into a wallet. Once paid out, you can certainly put them back on the exchange.

Happy Trading!

I think dev got an interesting start here and a wonderful concept behind SPP coin.
But it lacks momentum and initial funds to build a campaign around it.

I can see voting at c-cex didn't go as planned, at merely 302 votes atm.

Is there a plan to promote it more widely as a viable investment opportunity? Mind sharing it?
Has a roadmap been formulated yet?

Hope it works out.
Keep us posted. Got this one on my watch list ;)

There is no much talk about this coin here. You need to create much buzz to achieve much involvement from the community.

How's everybody doing?
What should we do next?

There's not much of a roadmap because the wallet won't be changing over and over. The project is still happening, and should be installed in December.  Not much else to it. And when the benefits come rolling in, the coin gets bought back.. Super simple, right?

Perhaps there can be a phase 2, and that would be either for another panel project or even wind? Only time will tell.

Glad to hear that.  I have been keeping an eye on it, and the chain is moving along! If it ever seems to stall, I can start staking a small amount again from the main wallet.

Here's the latest... (A question I asked the installers tonight after reviewing latest electric bill.. Awesome news!)

"Hi Brandon..

Is there a certain usage per month I should actually be aiming for? What happens if we end up really over producing from what we use? Will Xcel only pay a certain amount monthly?

I was reviewing the latest bill vs. LY, and it went down by $30..."

Reply:

"For the project, we have everything locked-in with Xcel.

If you were to over produce after install, they will pay the average retail rate for your excess.  There is no cap on this, so you will be fine.

Let me know what other questions you have.

Cheers,

Brandon"

I hate to post this message, but I need to keep everyone updated on the project...

The temperature here is currently at negative 4 degrees F. (Feels like 22 below F). The crew isn't working in this extreme cold. Tomorrow is slated to be even colder.

Looking at the forecast, Monday is supposed to be a gorgeous day at about 30.  I'm guessing this will be the day the project wraps up!

All in all, this project is still very much alive and moving forward!

Why do you think C-Cex is the worst? Too many pump and dumps? I've had no issues with them..

I've had some issues with Trex, but I'd probably still trade there.

Yobit is horrible in my opinion.. They hold people's coins and won't update the wallets to let people get them.. After many attempts.

Good question!  I will be posting some updates to the OP within the next couple days to clarify this more.

There will always be a buy support on Nova Exchange for this coin.
As you probably see on Nova Exchange, there is a rather large sell order @45 sats for 4.77 BTC.  If these all sell, there will be an absolute minimum of $100 USD a month added in the buy support column.  This is to buy back the coins that helped fund the project..

The panels are already installed and running!

I suppose since I've updated the main page, the pictures have been removed... I thought I still had them up there.  Oops!
The picture with the hardware on the side of the house is outdated because the meters were installed. (The picture shows cardboard where one of the meters was going to go)
UPDATED!
Anyways, I want to take new ones.

The pictures are of the system, and not just grabbed off the net.  I'm not super uber 1337 searching the Interwebs, but isn't there an option when viewing an image to search Google for the image to see if it exists out there already, and where?

Maybe you can do that but in a different section because you might be violating some rules here.
Also, if you can afford now to have a signature campaign for your coin, maybe it will increase the number of users or increase the awareness for SPP Coin. You are fortunate that your project is still alive as compared to others that were only up for weeks (that's for scammers  ;D ). At least this one seems authentic.

I can certainly do that.. It will take me a little time to come up with though, since users here have different levels they can use for a signature.

This project isn't going away anytime soon. We had started it before the panels were installed, and if we could have had full funding then, the rewards would have been much greater than what they can be now.

HUGE NEWS!

For every SPP coin that is purchased on Nova Exchange, an equal amount will be destroyed from the main wallet!!

https://novaexchange.com/market/BTC_SPP/

151,720 total have been burned!

This puts the total supply BELOW where the original coin started.  Whoop!

We have decided to end this promotion after seeing how other coins that are similar to ours compare.
Here's what we found:

* Their values range from a minimum of 9x of ours to over 270x.
* Not a one actually offer or have built an actual solar array.  We are the only ones!
* Every one of them has to be mined. We want you to save your hashes for favorite coin, or mine a new one for a quick profit.

This is still a small community, and will grow over time.. We just need the right people to take notice!

CCEX is the worst. We only need trex and yobit to trade on for now. But i selected yes on the vote by mistake so take that into account.

To many pump and dumps, to many icos that I believe have the owners of ccex invloved. To many scam accusations. I just dont trust them mostly.

ups and downs and losses and gains are part of life so do,not be disappointed at evil turn of any project not only this.

The Here's how it will work: section of the main page has been updated accordingly...

To be honest with you, this project is not old.  In crypto terms, it probably is since coins are coming out left and right every day.  Was there something like this before? I tried researching it, and found only one possibility, but it had died apparently.  Something out of Africa.. ?  There are other "green" coins out there that promise or say they are all for this, but with limited % towards their project.  This coin is 100% funded towards solar panels, and solar farms.  No gimmicks, no lies..

As you may see in my previous response, there seemed to be something like this before.. but it went away?  I don't know...
I personally wanted to invest in a coin that was purely solar.  Nothing was around.  So I made it happen.
Yes, BTC IS at a good price.  Working diligently at not just doing house jobs, but an actual solar farm...
The coin itself will need a revamp, yes.. Most definitely yes.

Greetings!

Many of you may or may not have heard about the fork that is set to take place on August 1st.
Bitcoin will be forked to Bitcoin Cash.  There is already over 16 petahash dedicated towards this clone.

http://www.newsbtc.com/2017/07/27/bitcoin-cash-hashpower-exchange-volume-picks-significantly/

Apparently this clone is already trading between $400 and $700 as of right now!

You can read more about it here:
https://www.coindesk.com/coindesk-explainer-bitcoin-cash-forking-blockchain/

Here is the website of the "new" coin:
https://www.bitcoincash.org/

Now, what will happen is.. If you have 1 BTC, when the fork happens, you'll still have your 1 BTC.  BUT!  You will also have 1 of the "new" Bitcoin Cash.  How can you take advantage of this after the fork?  I'm assuming you can just import your BTC wallet.dat file into the Bitcoin Cash client, and you'll be good to go.  I'm not going that route.  I'm letting NovaExchange do that for me.

There are other exchanges that won't be doing this!  Be sure to find out which ones will and won't be!  Why let them just get your Bitcoin Cash?    :D

This exchange will give you credit for all the new coin when the split happens on August 1st:
https://www.novaexchange.com/

I personally have backed up my existing BTC wallet that was on my PC, sent all BTC that I have to Nova Exchange for the swap, removed the BTC software from the computer in its entirety (including the bitcoin folder in Appdata / roaming) downloaded the updated BTC client (Bitcoin Core 0.14.2) found at:

https://bitcoin.org/en

and let it resync back up.  Do you need to go to this extreme, or can you just remove the old client, and install the new one?  I'm sure doing just this will be fine, that way you don't need to resync for over a day....  I have NOT downloaded the Bitcoin Cash wallet (maybe I will afterwards, who knows..)

Good luck all, and catch you on the flip side with extra money!   ;D

Yeah, that was quite the ordeal!  Many coins took a hit immediately that day after the news and SPP was one of them.   :(

Not only that news, but also the fact that this site implemented some new security features for password recovery, etc.. Right before this happened, someone took over the MrZ28s username and I haven't been able to get it back.  (Hence this name)

A new thread will have to be started, but unfortunately this one won't be locked per my request.

Are there any exchanges in particular you personally would like to see the coin listed on?
