As you can see, we’re in desperate need for your help.

So what’s the deal?

Come up with a funny concept for a Synereo cartoon, we pick the ones we like and reward the lucky talents with a fresh bundle of AMPs. Submissions have to be at least 10 times better than the above example.

If you’re like us, you’re probably better at decentralizing the Internet than at drawing. But don’t despair just yet! For this reason exactly, we’ve hired class-A cartoon specialists who are eager to transform your ideas into pictures. Just post them here, and we’ll take care of the rest.

Post your pieces of art to this Bitcointalk thread until August 26. Contest rules are as follows:

-     You can enter as many ideas as you like, but you can win only 1 prize
-     An idea will be credited to the first person submitting it
-     Use a maximum of 3 frames/panels per cartoon
-     No violence, racism, misogyny or the like. Behave, the Internet is watching.

Here are some suggestion for topics:

-     The bnktothefuture.com fundraising round
-     The Alpha Release
-     The Value of your attention
-     dApps you can build on Synereo
-     Anything else Synereo related

And these are the rewards  you’re in for:

1st prize: $250 in AMPs
2nd prize: $175 in AMPs
3rd prize: $100 in AMPs
4th - 10th prizes: $50 in AMPs

The contest will run for two weeks, officially ending August 26. Synereo will then pick the best ideas, and the community will vote on the winners.

Have fun, and come join us on Slack! (http://slack.synereo.com)

WOOT!

Do you have an example of what kind of low quality, no artistic skill sketch could be turned into a nice cartoon by the artist?

It's not even needed, but can help to get the point across. Erik's first entry is fine, for example. It's well enough described.

If your idea needs a very specific drawing to be funny, it might help to sketch it. Just take a picture of a drawing with your phone, or sketch something up in photoshop. It doesn't have to look good :)

entry #2

Other cats: what happened to you?

frame 2:
cat: Well my managing agent finally woke up and switched media companies. As you know, i am a famous movie star on the internet. But since we do not get paid for it, we just act as dumb cats, right?  Now we are on Synereo, my wage increased 100-fold!
cat: Fresh fish every day now!
cat: burp
other cat:  so why are you looking so unhappy then?

frame 3:
(cat starts to shed hairs all over and looks very itchy)
first cat: Do you realize this suit is full of fur? (2nd balloon:) itching all over (3rd balloon) yikes

Good question. We'll put a Synereo logo in there somewhere unless it really messes up the cartoon. Don't worry about it, we'll figure that out.
Don't let it limit your creativity!

1st frame:
an iron chain single link, with arms, legs, eyes, gloves, top hat, and cane
presenting himself:
blocky: Hi , i am blocky, and i am about to enlist in the synereo blockchain!. I am a 'smart contract', that is a piece of code on the internet that -can not- be changed! And that means a LOT..

2nd frame:
(the frame is split in diagonal so it makes actually 2 frames)
top half, blocky in corner shows in background 2 cavemen clubbing each other.
blocky: Trading disputes used to be solved in the past in very basic human ways...

bottom half, blocky in corner shows in background 2 lawyers 'çlubbing' each other but not with clubs but lawbooks.  also, while bashing eachother, one gets paid by a dark figure in an alley, and the other has strings attached to him and a puppetmaster above.
Blocky: over the ages the methods changed, but good observers will notice this had some disadvantages too!

3rd frame:
shows a 'forging' where new chain links are added to a chain. 'blocky' is about to be added.
Blocky: Now we have entered the next stage! Worldwide trade has never been so easy, since smart contracts are indisputable! And you can make one too! On to the future!

(note: i know this is technically not totally correct, since blocky would be only a small part of a block in the real blockchain. but that's for purists lol. ordinary people will hopefully understand it enough)

(2nd note: guys, i post  a lot but i can only win 1 prize, we need more contestants!, its just my brain doesn't leave me alone here, i totally like this contest! . make a story with penguins for christ sake lol)

Slide #1

Group is in China. There is civil unrest and the government bans all social media. Also the great firewall of China.
Shows a group a citizens. How do we let people know whats happening in China?

"thinks" "How can I let the world know? All my communication is blocked"

Slide #2

Person #1 strikes a thought.

"With Synereo's decentralised social network we can instantly update anyone. With Synereo no governments can stop us"

Slide #3

Shows real time amplifying of messages.
Now the world can see in real time what is happening in China.

This can be replaced with any country. Turkey, North Korea (maybe), or any place government blocks social media in crisis.

banker1: ..or they thought they could haha

frame2:
(shows a locker room where both bankers are busy undressing to change outfit)
banker1: ..but then they invented these &^%* smart contracts and we became obsolete almost overnight..

frame3:
(shows a tv studio setting, both bankers are in a clowns suit. banker2 is juggling with balls. banker1 dances with feet only and holds up a sign 'please donate amps' . backdrop could say something like 'synereo clown contest' and have logo)
banker1: ..now we have to really work for our money!

If you want to steal other peoples's work, dont forget to tell the source at least. This is really unfair and also illegal, copyright infringement should be taken seriously because you are using this to earn money.

Ok this is my contribution to the contest. I professionally made my 3 panels in the most sofisicated program currently available (being paint :p). Don't mind my noob skills pls, I gave it my best shot.

I hope you guys like it.

Panel 1:
Social media users (us) generate the profits for big centralized entities.
https://i.imgur.com/wYxvrzv.png

Panel 2:
The decentralized social media platform Synereo comes to the rescue!
https://i.imgur.com/15HFAj7.png

Panel 3:
Social media in a way it should be! The end users benefit the most as it is our attention they consume.

I wish my fellow contestants good luck.

Text between stars is what is drawn
Text after TEXT: is the actual text
(obvious)

Panel 1:
*Mark Zuckerberg sitting at desk & intensively tapping his computer*
*Wife in bed:* TEXT: Mark! Would you please stop surfing facebook. Come to bed!

Panel 2:
*Mark Zuckerberg standing straight and shouting proudly:*
TEXT: No my lady, I’m working on my next big project, a decentralized social platform!

Panel 3:
*Wife in bed:* TEXT: Are you talking about Synereo? It’s great, you should visit my profile.
*Mark Zuckerberg slamming his head against his desk being all disappointed.*

“why are you not active anymore on facebook?”
The right student keeps looking at his screen and responds;
“Why are you not getting paid for your attention?”

Frame 3:
Both students are surfing on Synereo.

Harvard university, 2103 AD:

Classroom filled with (friendly)  robot students, a robot teacher at the blackboard

frame1
robot teacher: ... and so it was discovered that the building blocks of life started to form a single chain.
robot teacher: In the first decades, most blocks were just empty data, but over time they contained more information and they gradually became smarter* and interacted with each other.....

frame2
robot teacher: ..and so evolution started. We gradually evolved to become what we are today!
robot student raises hand: My mom says that these blocks were programmed by somebody!

frame3:
robot teacher:Nobody programmed anything, no serious scientist would even think that.
robot teacher:That is just superstition.
robot teacher:don't be silly

sub text:

Well you are still trying to earn money from someone else's work...this is so unfair because other people are trying to come up with something creative and original like
Erik Goff, Bybox and subzero01
Kudos to you guys ! This is hard work.

Dont be too harsh, since these images will not be used in the final drawings anyway. its just to get his point across. i cannot recall synereo amps being called a privacy coin though.
And i agree it is hard work! It takes me a few hours and a shitload of weed to come up with a new one every time.  And i still cannot think of a funny one with pinguins ....
On the other contestants, i like the 'zuckerberg' one the most :)

I understand you concern but this contest is for fun and I start adding source i take the cartoon from internet. and FYI copyright infringement won't work on meme and cartoon which intended to use for public fun until it use someone's personal information and also OP didn't mention the we must have to draw our own cartoon and can not take it from internet. you can come up with pokemon using synereo idea and you dont have to ask Niantic
to use pokemon go picks (wink).
This is Fun Contest  cheer up :)

Hello. I learned about Synereo from the trading section on this forum and I must say I'm really excited. Hope it reaches the same level of traction as steemit, and even more! I'll help to spread the word.

For the contest here's my entry;

Frame1
Moon rocket with synereo logo standing on the ground, smoke slightly coming out of the engine blaster
Rocketeer looking all excited: "Get ready folks, alpha release is about to take off!"

Frame2
Female user running to the rocket with a bunch of cats after her & a case full of make-up, shouting: "WAIT, you forgot me and my cats".
Rocketeer looking confused: "Why do you need those for?"

Frame3
Female user: "you'll need make-up videos & cat photo's for you first top posts on the frontpage."
Rocketeer: facepalms

Thank you :)

private (still not shown): Sir, are you from the stone age? we are on synereo social platform now where we get paid for our attention!

frame3:
(captain looking stunned, looks right to the viewer, black cloud above head)
(to the right is an army unit in ballerina suits, taking video of themselves)
(some of them should still be in army suit (laughing) for contrast)
private: So now i am posting a video with our unit in ballerina suits, and we have 2 million paid likes already!
private: sir!
private: ..sir?

Frame 2

Boss says; I tought I told you to finish those papers by today!

Frame1:
(teacher in corner, explaining.  In background, 2 cavemen, one pointing to a mammoth, saying 'food!' (without balloon)
Teacher: In the ancient past, someones attention was a useful thing indeed, and there was plenty of it..

Frame2:
(teacher in corner explaining, depicted is a highly stressed person on a desk with hands in hair, while a lot of text balloons say 'buy!' 'buy!' buy!' )
Teacher: But at a certain point, attention became a large burden on society. It became a precious commodity, and was highly valued.
Then social network synereo was launched where peoples attention had a PRICE....
Teacher: If you had something interesting to say, people would pay you for it! But if you just want to sell something, you had to pay others for their precious time..
Teacher: From then on only the best ideas could reach the people. Bad information simply went bankrupt. Information became of high quality again!

Frame3:
(picture zooms out to a futuristic megacity. Flying cars, zeppelins, bridges between buildings, etc. text balloon coming out a building window)
Teacher: It was a breakpoint in history!

- facebook: like me!
- twitter: follow me!
- reddit: vote for me!
- youtube: watch me!
- linkedin: hire me!
On the right a person covering one of his eyes and of his ears with his hands while looking very stressed.

Frame 2
On the left the same logos all being silent and looking baffled.
On the right the person becoming mad and shouting; enough with the "me, me, me!"

Frame 3
Person walking confidently away while saying; time to take matters into my own hands; I'm off to Synereo!

Ok I have an idea for a fourth cartoon entry;

Frame 1
President working very peaceful behind his luxuruous desk while his assistant storms in looking very stressed
Assistant; "Mr. President, people have leaked our hidden money contracts on Synereo!"
President not even looking at assistant responding in a calm manner; "just put their servers down."

Frame 2
Assistant starts sweating
Assistant; "Mr. President, that doesn't work. The users run the nodes."
President looking up with a mad face; "contact the owners and make them delete the information!"

Frame 3
Assistant starts hiding behind his books while sweating more
Assistant; "Mr. President, that doesn't work. It's owned by nobody."
President; putting his face in his hands while sayin; "I miss the good old days."

hippie:Everybody is paying attention to each other!
hippie:Life is good!
hippie:wow man!

note: the artist could use the dog as humorous side element in frame2, like for example, having the dog pee over hippies shoe

news reader: Thank you for your attention. Goodnight!

Frame2, walks off the set, meets secretary sitting at computer. Microphone still in hand.

At  the divorce council:
(mediator at desk, man and wife on other side of desk)

mediator (looks to woman): So you say that your husband does not pay you enough attention?
woman: Indeed. he only paid me 21322 amps and i paid him 61815 amps!

frame2:
man: yes, but i have been paying 32845 amps to the kids!
mediator, frantically using a desk calculator (with paper roll)

frame3:
(mediator keeps using calculator. it should be apparent that the text does not end, he has a long list of calculations to make)
mediator: Ok so that means if you pay 8254 amps to your wife, and also 3299 amps to aunt betsy. Then the kids should pay you 3116....

My fourth entry

Title: reaction of currently dominating centralized social networks to Synereo

Frame 1:

Well-dressed (costume) CEO sitting behind a luxurious desk smoking a cigar while watching a graph of Synereo that represents the number of active users. On frame 1 the graph is already rising but not too fast.
CEO says: "Synereo is just a copycat for blockchain people and criminals!"

Frame 2:

The graph is rising in a faster way.
CEO puts his hand under his chin while looking up with his eyes and smiling. There are dollar signs around his head. He says: "That's a lot of users to make extra advertising money for us... Quick, make our platform decentralized!"

Frame 3:

The graph of Synereo is skyrocketing. The CEO leans his head on both of his hands and says: "Why aren't they joining us...?"

regular looking guy apparently walking his dog, leans over the wrecked bankster:

regular guy: dude, don't tell me you missed the synereo crowdsdale on bnktothefuture.com !
regular guy: weren't you paying attention?

note: the scene of the guy/banker should be really small, so the building is huge, to enlarge the sheer panic coming out the building.
artist could use a magnifying glass to look in one of the offices showing a stock chart graph with synereo logo (up of course) and one with facebook logo (down of course)

Einstein:Time became very precious, and if you wanted a piece of someones time, you had to pay for it!
Einstein:All this brain energy that before was contained by useless distractions, exploded!
Einstein:boom!
Einstein:It gave humanity a great push forward! I just never thought that...

Frame3:
(image zooms out, shows earth with some kickass space station around it. astronauts in suits flying around, rockets, etc. Text balloon comes out space station to show einstein is in it)

School of fish in the ocean, swimming to the left:
(should be apparent that one fish is leading the rest)
one small fish in the middle ask to a bigger fish next to him:
small fish:mom, why are we always swimming in formation?

Frame2: (same picture as in frame1)
mom fish:We just do. we all follow the leader, and do whatever he does.
small fish:Why do we do that?
mom fish:He simply has the most likes. He posted one day that he likes catfish, and since we are all friends here liking each others posts, we all ended up liking catfish.
small fish:Yea catfish are cute
Mom fish:..but it left no room for other creativity. Nobody is exploring , boldly going where no fish has gone before! We created a system of centralized control!

Frame3: (a giant killer whale, mouth wide open swims in the picture from the left, swallowing the whole school (leader fist)
(the 2 fish are not in the mouth yet, basically still too far to be aware of the danger)
small fish:So it might be better if we were decentralized?
mom fish:probably, yes

Frame 1:
Aging 80's 'hair' band (The Motley Roses), looking tired and frail, in the office of their record label

Record exec: "Guys, you're broke, all those years of girls & drugs ... you should have invested wisely ... you've got to go back out on the road"
Band: looking horrified, and obviously not looking forward to going on the road again
Band manager: talking on the telephone "we need a full stack of AMPS for each guy in the band asap, they're gonna need 'em"

Frame 2:
Rock concert stadium, half full, aging crowd of 'hair' metal fans looking angry, throwing fruit and bottles at the stage.
Band on stage, guitarists looking for amps to plug into, obviously absent from stage setup.
Band manager, looking at a young perplexed looking nerdy assistant (t-shirt reads 'You read my t-shirt, that's enough social interaction for one day'), manager looks incredibly angry, yelling, "Where are the AMPS?"
Singer and drummer looking on in despair

Frame 3:

''humanized' sheep, all looking to 1 sheeps' computer on total left who is sitting on a chair at a computer screen, clicking mouse.
(the other sheep are standing on 2 legs , they should do human things like clapping hands in joy, one is smoking a pipe., one has glasses, etc)

all the sheep have a text balloon with : like !

one sheep (the one most to the right of the herd) looks to right, talks to a sheep not shown yet outside the frame:
(points one fore-leg to the screen)
sheep:come check this out isabelle, this post here is hilarious!
sheep:or don't you like us?

frame2:
(one sheep is sitting at her own computer, facing to the right. holding mouse, clicking)
isabelle: yea i like you allright, thanks to you guys i could just post a video about herd behaviour on synereo !
isabelle: on this platform, people actually pay you when you post quality content!
(little space between text balloons)
isabelle: btw i just bought the farm

sub text: Synereo, the new social platform that pays you !

note:on frame2 the one sheep should still be visible, looking dumbfaced. There are still  a lot of text balloons with 'like!' coming out the left frame.
note2:the 'floor' should be grass, and the sheep use tables, not desks. this gives room for a little side joke: in frame 1 a small cat is trying to catch a mouse. (mouse wearing superman suit with synereo logo). In frame 2 mouse is jumping up and down on cats' head, having defeated him. the joke should be pictured small enough to not distract from main joke)

Advertizing on synereo:

frame1:
2 business guys in an office, at the coffee machine, one asking the other:
guy1:why do you look so happy?
guy2:I just changed advertising platforms and my sales tripled!

frame2:
(while walking towards office)
guy1:wow! How did you do that?
guy2: well advertising used to be just throwing an ad out there, and hoping it landed on the right eyeballs!
guy2:we did have some instruments, but they were not really precise and very expensive!
guy2: now everyone moved to a platform called Synereo where i can simply pay them to watch my ads!

frame3:
(inside guy2's office, showing a company graph going up a lot, even outside the cartoon frame)
guy1:but, that is a lot more expensive?
guy2:nope. since there are so many ads out there, people select which ones they actually find interesting and watch these only!
guy2:finding targets became obsolete, they find us now!
guy2:conversion rates went through the roof!

Entry 3

Frame 1
A young hippy backpacker wearing John Lennon glasses and sandles is standing in the doorway of an Indian ashram, he's wearing a backpack, and the rickshaw that just dropped him off is travelling away in the distance. He's just arrived in India.
Inside the ashram is a dread-locked guru sitting in the lotus position on a raised platform, facing him is a group of young western hippies dressed like hare krishnas, most sitting in the lotus position meditating.
The guru is saying, "put your attention in the 'now', it is the path to enlightenment"

Frame 2
Close-up of the backpacker's face, he's having an "a-ha" moment. Next to his head is an imagination bubble, inside the bubble is a scene of him sitting on the ground with his legs crossed, his laptop is on his lap, and he's showing the hippies something on the screen, and they're all eagerly peering over one another to see what it is.

Frame 3
The young hippies are seen dancing down the street with tamborines in classic hare krishna style looking over-joyed, they're chanting:

syn ereo syn ereo
ereo ereo syn syn
hare amp hare amp
amp amp hare hare

Other people on the street are looking intrigued, some are looking at their phones, some are joining in with the chanting & dancing.
The young backpacker is seen in the distance back at the ashram, seated in full lotus, meditating with the dread-locked guru, they look like equals.

I have 2 entries so far.

Entry 1:

Two brothers in their apartment. One is checking his laptop. Super excited that Synereo Alpha is released because it's September already.

Frame 1:
Bro1: "I can't believe it! Synereo just released their Alpha version!"
Bro2: Looking at Bro1 with a smirk ready to unleash his pun.

Frame 2: Close up of Bro2. Face grinning and almost laughing by his joke.
Bro2: "Well someone is definitely AMPed about it."

Frame 3:
No speech bubbles. Just both brothers pointing with their fingers at each other with the "I see what you did there" look on their faces.

Entry 2:

Frame 1:
A man is being followed by a giant blue "f" letter with binoculars pointed directly on him. He is frustrated and stressed out by the spying but he is heading to a particular direction.

Frame 2:
The man reaches his destination. It's an entrance gate with a butler/guard outside. Huge sign of Synereo on the gate.
Man: "I was told to come here if I seek online freedom."
Butler: "You certainly have come to the right place."
The "f" letter hasn't noticed what is happening yet.

Frame 3:
Gate opens for the man to proceed inside.
Butler: "This way please."
The "f" letter stays behind as he cannot enter and is surprised and a little bit irritated.

Two young ladies sitting on a bench in a park. One looks seriously frazzled, looking at her phone. One looks blissfully happy.

Blissful girl (holding up her own phone with Synereo logo on it): But...Synereo does all of that on one network.

Frame 3:
Frazzled girl (no longer looking frazzled) is happily skipping through the park with a dreamy smile on her face (think Judy Garland on the hilltop when singing "Sound of Music"), phone with Synereo logo clutched to her bosom.

Mom is sitting at her own desk, typing furiously on her keyboard. On her screen we see the same Synereo logo and layout as her son's. Next to her keyboard is an open book of family recipes.
Speech bubble from the doorway: Honey, what's for dinner?
Mom: Not now! Granny's Key Lime Pie just made me $50!
