Title: Last 20000 blocks take ages to download with less than 10 connections?
Post by: Liam W on March 26, 2013, 02:29:50 PM
Very strange thing here.

If I have less than 10 connections (normally 8), then the client syncs the blocks really slowly. As soon as I get 10 or more, it starts syncing really quickly again.

I'm assuming this is normal?

not really

i use  listen=0, connect=xx.xx.xx.xx, maxconnections=1 when i'm downloading blockchain

if you don't control which nodes you connect to, it should be random, whether you have 8 connections or 200
