As our platform has evolved along with our understanding of our user base, it became apparent we needed to look at the brand as a whole, btcpool.exchange was initially a mining service today were so much more than that, so we took the time to re-brand our platform, and were not even trying to hide our history, full disclosure is important. New Features This is not a comprehensive feature update list, however we feel there worth special mention. -- Coin Voting & Insta List, Coin voting has been hugely popular although it hasnt driven alot of users to the site to date, partly due to our dated old look and the problems with the old platform, the new system will retain the voting by BTC but will add the option to place votes with the very coin you want to get listed, there will also be a brand new insta list feature, where for a fixed fee you can get any coin listed for a guaranteed 180 days. -- SockChat, brand new fully intergrated chat service no more 3rd party, finer control of users, there are no filters on chat your welcome to say anything you like, we will address this should it get out of hand, we firmly believe everyone is entitled to there own opinion. -- Improved Graphing and Statistics, we have performed miracles in terms of our stats and graphs whilst there still older am charts, we are working hard on StockCharts and HighCharts, you should start to see these in the coming weeks as the roll out begins, they are not active yet, as there is simply not enough data to produce a "complete" graph period. -- Dice and Bones games, just like satoshi bones or any other dice game, only we support any coin that's listed on the exchange, the system is proverbially fair, for dice the number 50 belongs to the house, a similar deal with bones where betting starts at less than 61k with 61,000 thru to 65,000 belonging to the house, we are working hard to add blackjack and poker to the system, and perhaps a game or two TV shows many moons ago, for example Price Is Right. -- Tipping (Vouchers) Some of you will remember our old voucher system, well that's gone because it never worked as intended not even salvaged we have a brand new tip system, allowing you to transfer or send coins to any registered user, in a matter of seconds, all with zero fees. -- Market Improvements All markets have had a lot of minor tweaks and changes to allow for faster order executions, orders are no longer executed on a cycle, when you place your order now, you automatically trigger the trade engine which will execute instantly if sufficient orders are in place. -- All New UI The biggest complaint has always been the CRAP website, to many cooks in the kitchen makes a mess and that's a prime example, the new site is superior in every single way, will scale out better into the future and offer a seamless experience rather than something that is seriously clunky and counter intuitive. == API - yes at long last we've completed a very basic API, we need your feedback here to expand and improve, we want to build the most comprehensive API out there, and do so securely, so if you would like to see additional calls get in touch explain what you want if we feel its viable every effort will be made to implement it. -- Stake We have enabled staking on all of our wallets, we enabled this on 16th 08 2016, in the coming weeks users will start to notice daily balance updates as stakes are counted an distributed on a very simple premise, every 24 hours stakes are counted and distributed per coin per user and paid based on your current balance, for clarity, no payments under 1 whole coin will be made, so if you have a dust balance you wont earn stake sorry, this feature will not be on or off, its on for everyone at all times, altex charge a fee for processing stake as you can imagine its rather intensive managing 50 wallets that stake thousands of times a day. Due to recent scams and other negative events, AltEx does not endorse or vouch for coin developers. Yes we know that , we are still in live beta stage and as such there are no trade fee's , we ae adding features and fine tuning things , once we are satisfied that everything is running how we want and there are no issues , we will look at the promition side , atm we ae looking for people to test , there is a testnet market set up come and test it we will send coins for this market or do some fee free trades , there will be a reward system put in place for testers , which we are designing and organizing atm too , once everything has come together , we will roll out more of this to the public!! Thanks for your feedback CraigWright, the slow is a little on the slow side right now simply because full debugging is enabled, meaning just about every action and reaction is logged to and from the system, this means the sites a bit slower it has to work much harder to do the same work, as the bugs become less, and were clearing them out at a vast rate, we can turn full debugging off for alot of the platform, only maining debugging on essential code or critical code. Our insta list framework provides the means for us to deploy any coin instantly without intervention from us, in dry runs it has performed perfectly, when building autogen.sh, not all coins though have this and older build methods have proven a headache, in order for instalist to work for a given coin IT MUST Build cleanly, no missing files or permissions etc. InstaList is not a way people can exploit and install things to our servers, it dont work like that when we list a coin for voting we provide several security checks and information, the coin must have been cleared by before the listing will be auto deployed ICO Platform This is its final few days of devolopment testing and tweeking, also makes use of our instalist tools to open markets etc after ICO are successfull, so no waiting for us, if a listing ends at mid day exactly, the markets will be available less than 60 seconds later Pay Per Service. This is unique service that we cant find anywhere else, all services incure fees so pay attention to them, and follow all information available, some of these new services are as follows. Ammounts of Less than 0.0005 BTC will not be counted as a vote Automatic Listing will occure after 500 votes (or Zero Point Two Five Zero Bitcoin), All coins that make it onto the exchange by way of voting will have there market secured for at least 90 days. After much discussion between myself and my partner we have come up with the following : We have designed a in house token called Altex Profit Token (APT for short) , there are in total 1 million tokens which represents 100% of the profit pool of Altex. 60% of these tokens will be held by the partners of Altex as exchange revenue. The other 40% 400,000 tokens will be available to users and the public and all money raised will be used to improve the platform for the benefit of all user's. There will never be more than 40% available to the public. Several bugs have been found and fixed, in almost all cases reporters were rewarded for there troubbles, almost all have been fixed and the system is running nicely. Now this is important for everyone else who finds bugs, whilst bug hunting is usually done for the good of others, the moment you put a withdraw request for those coins it become theft, and wont be tollerated. The irony in this case here is they got 0.03 BTC from the platform, and i would have personally paid them 1,000 APT, Worth way more than what they got, so Epic Win for the assailant there. Whilst incidents like this are totally undesirable, and looking at the way exchanges deal with these incidents in the past, we feel it better to just be honest with our auidence at large, the user in quiestion has been banned from the software, and we will monitor this situation very carefully, the faucets are offline untill further notice (should only be a day), the BitCoin that was removed from the exchange 0.03 BTC has been replaced from my own Reserves, No user balances were touched, the incident was between the faucets and our distribution user, so the coins taken were our own to begin with (hopefully that makes some sence). So there it is folks, a good week from where were sat. Let us know what you think, how you think we can improve, if you have questions about the "incident" just fire away, lets get you guys more of what you want and less of what you dont. Some people are experianceing a login issue were working to resolve it, in the mean time you may need to clear your browser cookies and history, this will help with your login requests, DevTeam is currently working on a more permentant solution and is the result of last weeks crash, any tokens your browsers holding wont be valid since the crash. If you still experience the error hang tight, it will soon be resolved, there will be a notice on the exchange once its resolved. Sorry for the issues here, but as we mentioned before all new hardware is in place and migration to it is underway, so hopefully the issues of the last week will kindly piss of to another server that has nada to do with us hehe. As we knows the cracks are showing, now the milage is racking up were starting to see what would otherwise be minor issues causing nock on problems, rather than rush to fix some of them, ive been sat in a cold damp dark room watching things happen in real time and understanding these problems much deeper. Its becoming aparant our code in areas is excessive, and coupled with the design overall its what you might call lazy, it takes to long to complete and delays other tasks, which has a nock on effect. Another issue is slow returns from the database, and even slower writes to the database. In short despite our recent major hardware upgrade were running out of the things we need most, so the changes have been made, and deploying them will take a little time but heres what you need to know Right now "StakeEngine" was a single application, this is no longer the case, we have separated out about 80% of the code to a brand new Application Layer affecitonatly called the StakeEngine Continous Execution Application Layer, this layer removes a ton of code from the primary application, all its logic, and every last ounce of jobs that have to execute. The frontend will now do nothing more than serv data. The application layer is websocket driven, and independent, no longer are all jobs executed to a specific schedule, they are executed continuously, without constraint (this has accounted for a 480% overall performance increase) Your talking a lot about performance issues, when the simple things done work!!!!! Quite right, but in this case the performance issues and "fat" code in some area are the direct cause of those issues, with sechuled jobs not finishing on time or in sequence errors are happening, or processing is starting out of sequence meaning data it depends on hasn't yet been prepaird etc. I expect almost every major issue to just vanish, a quick list for you all The withdrawals page, i know theres a bug in there, your being returned to an invalid page, this will be resolved in this window. StakePayments will get slowed down to 6hour rounds, same with APT.
