Yobit's kind of slackin the 808 team even paid for a premium listing one time, but why would they not add 808 and sprouts they did tek coin and I see it has the same code..whats going on here yobit must be really slow or on vacation..

The team is working on a few treats, hopefully we can bring some good news announcements soon.  Some chat box fans on cryptopia exchange have requested a new 808 icon to use as profile image. "./808d getinfo" will tell you the current status. Doing that from time to time will tell you if the chain is moving on.

Ok - I got it working, albeit slightly - blocks, moneysupply, connections, IP, and difficulty are now present or updated.   But shouldn't I be able to see a connection to the node in my local wallet...because it isn't showing up under 'getpeerinfo' (I have a node for another coin that I can see)

So.. I recently mined 450808, I sent the 400 to a exchange but isntead of sending the 400 most recent it sent 400 from one of my maturing transaction(4days) and now its back to age 0...... welldone 808. well done.

Did you select the mined blocks correctly in coin control like I said?  I feel your pain, my coins minted for 5 days are back to day 1...

edit: I just tried testing this, I sent some 808 to an exchange through coin input.  I have two stakes minting, and by selecting the coins I intented, the process did not affect the other.  I can help you out with screenshots of my process if you'd like, just respond to my last PM :)

It is not the fault of 808, it is an operator error  ::)

You have to enable coin control, click on send, then input and then select exactly which blocks you want to send. If you don't do it this way then you are at risk of moving your mature coins and you could be set back 8 days in this case. This goes for any coin and is one of the reasons why coin control was introduced in wallets.

I'll take the blame for this mistake, I've been trying to help him out through PM and described the coin control feature. What I didn't do was explain how to select inputs when sending, at least I didn't explain it as well as I could have (more detailed info, screenshots, ect.)

no it's not your fault, lol. I just think the wallet should automatically draw from the most recent transactions not from the oldest by default. Coin control should not be a necessity.

Oh well i got 1% of coin supply, and i won't be letting go of it anytime soon.

Here are the 808 Raspberry Pi wallets (headless and Qt) for Raspbian Jessie (v8) as well as a blockchain snapshot. The wallet has been tested on both a Pi2 and Pi3. Since 808 has a great appeal for staking, it makes sense to stake on a Pi at low electricity cost.

Important:
1) Always backup your wallet.dat first before you do anything
2) The wallets were built on Raspberry Pi2/3 (ARM) running Raspbian Jessie (v8) and the instructions and scripts assume you are running as user "pi". It is a pre-requisite to have Jessie installed on your Pi micro-SD card. You can find instructions of how to do this on https://www.raspberrypi.org/downloads/ by either installing n00bs and selecting your OS or by downloading the image of the OS. NB! It is important that if you do a fresh install from an older Jessie image, that you first expand your file system with raspi-config. It is the first option in the menu. The default image they provide installs a partition of about 3.5GB and it needs to be expanded to 8GB or you will not have enough space for the installation. However, if you use the later Jessie image from May 2016, the file system will be expanded automatically. It is furthermore always a good idea to select the boot options in raspi-config to boot to a command prompt with authentication. You can then start the graphical desktop with "startx" manually. This helps with issues during upgrades.
3) The installation script installs the required dependencies automatically.
4) Installation directory where the binaries are installed is ~/opt/808 or /home/pi/opt/808
5) To run the wallets after installation go to the directory with the wallets and run the wallet file - ./808d for the headless wallet at the command line or click on the 808 icon on the desktop or run the 808-qt wallet file.
6) An Internet connection is required for the installation
7) You need at least an 8GB memory card for the wallet.
8.) The installation itself takes about 30-45min on an out-of-the-box Pi.
9) You cannot just download the dynamic wallets, you have to run the script to get the dependencies as well else it will not run.
10) The installation script enables the ufw firewall by default, but does not force any special rules. The wallet still works this way with the port blocked. If however you want to enable it to become a fully functional node, uncomment the ufw lines in the script and add the ports you want open (default 8087 for 808) and run it again or easier, enable it manually by running the command "sudo ufw enable 8087" at the command line.
11) Always verify the checksums when you download files to make sure it was downloaded ok. To verify the checksums on your Pi, go to the ~/opt/808 folder and execute sha256sum <filename> and md5sum <filename> and compare the values with the values in the checksums.txt file.
12) The 808 wallet does not use bootstrap.dat files as evident in the init.cpp file. In order to copy the blockchain you have to detach the databases at shutdown by enabling the tickbox in the settings.  I have done this already and the script automatically installs the blockchain snapshot. The snapshot is compatible with Windows and if you want to start a Windows wallet from scratch, just create an empty folder in "c:\users\yourusername\appdata\roaming\808". In this 808 folder download the blockchain.tar.gz file and expand there with winrar.  Also put the 808.conf file there. You will have an 808.conf file, blk0001.dat and blkindex.dat in the 808 folder. You can then run the Windows executable and your wallet will be almost up to date instantly.

Instructions to use the headless command line daemon wallet:

1) The installation script creates an 808.conf file with the startup settings in it. Go to the folder with the binaries ~/opt/808 and enter ./808d in a terminal window or at the command line to start the server
2) After the wallet has started and loaded the blockchain (give it a minute or so) you can enter the normal wallet commands that you would as in a Windows debug console preceded with ./808d eg. ./808d getinfo.
3) Remember to always make a backup of your wallet.dat file before you do anything like encrypting it
4) To encrypt your wallet run the command ./808d encryptwallet <yourpassword>
5) Once you have the wallet running, blockchain loaded and your wallet with coins on the Pi, then you can kickstart staking by executing ./808d walletpassphrase <yourwalletpassword> 99999999 true

Instructions to use the Qt wallet:

1) The wallet works exactly the same as the one in Windows.

To kickstart the installation execute the following commands at the command prompt or in a terminal window on your Pi.

I don't have any further details but maybe he can follow up on this. The super secret club, will hopefully be run by the dev team and not a user like me, but it is defiantly good if we know which users have what.

4. Verify the checksums of the files to the checksums.txt file (optional)
5. Run the wallet and you will be instantly up to date to block 49321

From a previous installation
1. Open your wallet and in settings select detach databases at shutdown and close the wallet
2. Replace the two files as per above and you will be up to date

put a working config purse wallet is not synchronized

well i sent coin from 808 wallet to posw wallet to srake and also bought 87k coin off cryptopia for a total of just over 95k coin sent to posw. transactions never showed up. support says to redo the block. i searched the hash and found them both:

iv nevr had issues with sending coins to other wallets. the wallet at posw is always under maintenance and my coin is still missing. finally got a hold of admin and their answer is this......we are always having issues with this coin due to its awful coding. we will get it setup again and let everyone withdraw their 808 coin before we delist it from our server.

So am i wrong in guessing this coin is pretty dead now? for me anyways the wallet doesnt stake at all even after sitting with 87k coin in it for 13 days.
and no othr way to stake now that posw is delisting it. sucks cause this coin did well when it did stake.

yea im gonna have to give up on trying to get my coin back from the deposit there. they used to look into deposit issues for clients but now they just say stuff like "have  to reset block" like i know what the heck that means. lol
im just going to give the wallet another try. anyone else having issues with wallet not staking? not sure how long i have ot wait for coins deposited there to mature?

well 808 coin will officially be delisted from poswallet 6/15 so hurry and take your coin out of there. now only place left to stake is wallet and that doesnt work for me. i get 0 coins staking over 30 days.

so i guess time to seel off stock and move on.

I'm not sure how to add nodes, I've tried to use the "addnode=81.21.164.231:8087" and "addnode=184.72.95.126" but both returned the "Method not found (code -32601)" error.

Wanting to move the 808's I got at POSWallet before the delisting.

You can always try creating a .conf file for the wallet at %appdata% in a Windows running machine.

Am I need to leave my wallet always opened? I am planned to traveling and cannot leave my computer online. Any suggestion?

Yes the easiest way is to create a .conf file and simply open it in notepad and paste the addnodes.
